As the warm weather slowly fades away and that familiar fall chill begins to fill the air, for me it always means heavenly powder and a ski vacation<\/a> <\/strong>are just around the corner. Others may long for the days of summer, but I look to the Colorado<\/a> mountains and find myself excited about the first snowfall.<\/p>\n

While the ski resorts won\u2019t be in full swing until Thanksgiving, fall is one of the best seasons to visit your favorite ski resort.\u00a0 Deals are plentiful, and it’s easy to find low rates combined with great discounts. Plus, local restaurants that would normally charge the winter traveler much more offer great deals in the fall.<\/p>\n

Rediscover your favorite resort<\/strong>
\nVail<\/strong> is one of the top ski resorts in the US, and visitors can pay dearly for the bragging rights of saying, \u201cYeah, I went to Vail\u201d. Here’s the secret: Vail is mainly expensive if you go when everyone else goes (like during the Christmas or New Year\u2019s Eve holidays). In the fall,Wildflower restaurant<\/strong> in the Lodge at Vail<\/a>, offers 30% off food and wine through October 18, 2010. Similarly, Centre V<\/strong> located in the new Arrabelle at Vail Square<\/a>, offers 3 courses with 3 wines for $39, also through October 18, 2010. (If those aren\u2019t deals, I don\u2019t know what is.)<\/p>\n

Winter beckons, book early<\/strong>
\nFall is the best time to book your ski vacation because hotels and condos put their best foot forward to entice visitors to their corner of ski country. Many hotels are offering great specials on lodging, as long as you book by the end of October or mid-November. The Lodge at Vail, situated in the heart of Vail Village<\/strong> in Colorado and steps from the Vista Bahn<\/strong> chair lift, offers up to 33% off a stay if you book by October 31, 2010. In Breckenridge<\/a>, Colorado you can visit the Beaver Run Resort <\/a>and save up to 33% when you book by November 1, 2010.<\/p>\n

I think fall is a great time to visit your favorite resort, or even discover a new one. With prices so low, it\u2019s also the best time to book your winter trip. But, book early, because these deals only last until the snow starts to fall!<\/p>\n
