Hotel was in a very convenient location surrounded with lots of local shops. The family room was decent for 2 adults and 1 child. Fortunately there was no cigarette smell in our room but can see some guests were smoking on the corridor. Breakfast could be better, limited selection.
The room is a little small but very clean. Modern bathroom and decoration. Close to everything. Just beside the hotel is a big night club, however it was not noisy at all. They do have packets of coffee in the rooms.
Getting a higher floor is better if you are looking for a good night for rest. Location wise, it is generally satisfactory since a lot of eateries are within walking distance. Overseas credit cards are not generally accepted by machine in the hotel hence it may be wise to have the cash to pay for your accommodation.
Basic brooms with enough space, with average cleaning service. As usual in China English spoken personnel is rare and with bad English language. Breakfast is basic but good with mixture of Chinese and international food. Take care when paying upon online booking, if you do not insist on the price a price discrepancy on plus is possible.
First the rooms: Not generous but adequate if you don’t have loads of luggage. Otherwise you will need to skirt around your bags. Shower has a glass wall with blinds that can be lowered for privacy. Beds are China style hard. Takes some getting used to if you’ve been using a Simmons. TV has only Chinese channels so download your entertainment before you arrive. Also download a vpn as some sites are blocked by the government. Breakfast is on the 9th floor - the elevator button identifies it as the French Teppanyaki Restaurant. Chinese menu emphasis - soupe noodles congee lots of different cooked veggies and salads. Also an egg station cereals yogurt and the like. Perfectly adequate and perhaps healthier than the western alternative of sausages bacon and syrup drenched waffles. English is barely spoken. Bring your google translator. But the staff try to help. I would return.
Based upon the other reviews of the Kingdo hotel Zhuhai, this was a disappointment. English was a problem checking in so most was conducted by cellphone translation. Important to me (and advertised as available) was a non-smoking room and I was given a fake non-smoking room, which means they remove the ashtrays from the room while you are checking in. There was a lot made of this being an aromatherapy hotel, but I saw (smelled) no evidence of this, except there was dried out potpourri near the elevators and in the bathrooms. The room was about average for a 3 star hotel with standard counter space, a computer, side chair, two free bottles of water and tea set (no coffee) . I was given the fruit plate, which was nice; it consisted of a banana and cherry tomatoes (which are fruit in China). The bed was hard and not particularly comfortable by western standards. The air conditioner is fixed at 25c (77F), though my room seemed to be a comfortable 72 most of the time. The bathroom was tiled, single sink, with glass shower. Instead of the normal array of Chinese paper bag amenities, there was just a toothbrush and shower cap and the other items were for sale in a package. You will get hot water, but it might take a while. There were bottles of shampoo/conditioner and body wash in the shower. I could never get the Wi-Fi to work as it involved a password you were supposed to get from the television and I could not figure out how to access it…the sign-on page was extremely slow, so that may be an indicator of the overall speed. The TV (bad audio) had no English channels, but it did have Hong Kong Pearl, which, amusingly, the Chinese government blocks when they do not like the article (my blocking was when protesters in Hong Kong were arrested for criticizing the Chinese government). Soundproofing was not great and there was loud music until about 11PM when I was there, and urban noise was always present. My room included breakfast, which was nice; you can expect Chinese standards with very weak coffee. The hotel is a few big blocks from the Macau border crossing/ferry terminal/train station. The L1 bus goes near the hotel and connects both ferry terminals.
Nice and pleasant hotel. Very well located, just 10-15minutes walk from gongbei custom. They will serve fruits and flower tea right after you check in. Nice touch there! There are also choices of pillow and scent (aromatherapy). Nice comfortable beds as well. We have booked the superior twin room which is located just above the KTV. Can be a little too noisy if you want a comfortable and quiet rest. Other than that, everything else is almost perfect! Housekeeping staff are also very friendly and helpful, much better than the front desk staff.
This hotel is about a 15/20 minute walk from the Gongbei border (to Macau). By taxi, it takes less than 10 mininutes and around 10 RMB. Rooms are little bit small but adequate. After check-in, they bring fruits and teal to the room ( a nice touch). The breakfast is average - nothing fancy.
My wife and I arrived early in the morning from Hong Kong by ferry to Zhuhai. We had a reservation here at Kingdo Hotel and didn't know what to expect when we arrived by taxi from the ferry terminal. Upon checking in , we were informed as a matter of practice to place a deposit of $300 RMD during our stay. It seems to be the same when we check in at casinos in Las Vegas too! The room was clean and well maintained. The room type is a so call "Superior Queen Room." Breakfast is held at the top with a nice view and spacious. Our room was booked through Agoda Company with a 10% discount on the room. The staff was very customer service friendly. We did have a nice, quiet room. And, the only thing we didn't like was the glass wall for the bathroom. It seems to be a design to visually expand the size of the room. This design is the same when we stayed at Holiday Inn Hotel in Macau too! The hotel is conveniently located to the Gongbei Border Shopping Mall. By taxi, it was only $20 RMB, or walked there in 20 minutes or so to eat and shop. However, next day we moved over to Oversea Chinese Hotel as the rate there was cheaper!
Not so far from gongbei port by walk it takes around 15 minutes I guess, by taxi around 5 minutes and I paid 13rmb, I stayed for a night I booked a non-smoking room they provide me a room at 7th floor. I had a silent night there was no any disturbance from outside. Overall it was good for me I enjoyed my stay cheers!!!
