I will never stay again and wouldn't recommend anybody to stay at this hotel. My husband and I were so disgusted that we packed our things and left about an hour after we got there. There was beer cans and bottles all over the parking lot and in the bushes. The carpet in the hallway was soaked with what i do not know. I'm not sure what the smell was but it was nauseating. We couldn't sit on the chair in our room it was so gross.
My wife and a friend of ours was visiting Yuma for the Somerton Tamale Festival so we booked 2 rooms at the Cabana where we have stayed a few years ago. The first issue was with the reservation which was done through TripAdvisor and Booking.com. But, we had our confirmation and we got the last king room in the place. This is a budget motel that is aging and is somewhat in disrepair in the exterior and around the pool area. But, most importantly, the rooms are clean. The bathroom, carpeting and beds were AOK. However, there were two issues with the rooms. Even though the entire place seems to be non smoking our room smelled of smoke as did our friend's room. We had to run the fan for hours to clear the smell. The other thing was that in both rooms most the lights and one refrigerator were unplugged. So we had to plug everything back in. You get a typical continental breakfast. Toast, bagels, fruit, coffee, juice etc... It did the job.The thing to keep in mind is that this is a budget motel and the rates are really reasonable. And they have the coolest old neon sign in town. We would give this stay 3 and a half if we could. And even though we would stay here again because of the issues listed above we will give it a three.
Old place but with a great price rooms are very clean, comfortable beds, pool was very clean staff is so nice breakfast is good not a 5 star motel but still make you feel comfortable I would definitely go back.
Definitely a good quiet place to stay. This motel is an older motel but their rooms are very clean, comfortable beds, pool was very clean, breakfast was decent and the staff was nice and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
we have stayed at this property many times and get a decent room at a decent price. yes its an older hotel but its still comfortable, clean, and has terrific value. bring your broadband internet, since this is, well, a typical old hotel internet (translation: dont stay here if you need internet service). fortunately, there is a cell tower nearby, so the t-mobile broadband works well.
A group of us have been doing an annual trip to Yuma for years - we were so happy when we found the Yuma Cabana, it was a perfect fit! Decent rooms at a value price, nice staff, a fine little sitting area by the pool, and the undeniable pleasing kitsch factor. New management took over, and the poor old Cabana has suffered. Raised prices, reduced services? It happens, but what a shame. Housekeeping during our last stay was somewhere between haphazard & awful. One person in our group was given a room that had dog poop on the carpet that they hadn't bothered to notice or clean up - the rest of the rooms were nominally poop-free, none were particularly clean. Breakfast, never a big thing here back in the day, got even worse. A few off-brand wrapped pastries, plus the world's worst coffee, offered in tiny quantities in the lobby. Worst, though, was that all the security locks were broken or disabled, which with the layout of the hotel allows unobserved access to pretty much any room corridor. I am certainly not a paranoid traveler, but at the same time I think one should be aware of sketchy situations, and this sure felt like one. I do hope they can get their act back together, but for now the Cabana's lost our business.
I've stayed here several times, both with buddies road-trippin' and my wife on different occasions. The palm trees over the pool create a great atmosphere. I think someone must clean the baseboards in the hallways with a toothbrush. Man, this place is clean. Our room, I believe I always get room 207, has two queen beds and a recliner. The balcony looks out over the pool. It's a great place to stay. I still haven't found Barry Manilow.
Classic motel needs tender love and care but isn't getting it. Old place with big room and sliding glass doors on ground floor. The mattress was so saggy that I felt as if I was sleeping in a bowl. As others have said, this place has cockroaches. The roaches in my room were huge. Make sure you keep all of your luggage closed at all times, and check any outside pockets if you have them or you could be taking some unwanted passengers home with you.
Stopped here for the night on our way to our main vacation spot. Our main vacation destination was a five star resort, and I left the Yuma Cabana Motel wondering if my next hotel stop would be as pleasant. The staff at Yuma Cabana was nice, the rooms were very clean and maintained with fresh paint. I was hesitant to stay in a hotel that was so economical, but it was a better experience than places I've paid twice as much for. Give this place and it's wonderful employees an opportunity to show you their great bargain motel.
You'll find many necessaries in this charming old 60s motel: Dish TV, pool, light breakfast, good plumbing, OK WiFi and VERY affordable. I stayed two nights in July while getting dental work done across the border. This glam-shabby classic is in the middle of the restaurant district and about five minutes from the interstate. It's run by a very friendly American family and the breakfast nook was clean and spartan. It was tastefully renovated in the last few years and everything is ship-shape. Loved early-morning swims.
