There is a homeless camp a few hundred feet from the back parking lot, and there were guys hanging out and smoking in the lot all night long. The exit door to that side of the building, wouldn’t lock…but worst of all- we discovered in the morning that the door to our room also didn’t lock. The lights in the pool didn’t work, so you had to swim in the dark. The hot tub was broken and had caution tape around it. The front desk guy was nice enough and did his job fine, but give the guy a raise. His black T-shirt had holes in the armpits.

Since I was put in a handicapped room with no carpet and a hard floor which I slipped on. I asked at the front desk, why? Apparently when booked by a "3rd party" I was put in a handicapped room as they usually book last. You should look into this, as not a regular room as promised.

Doing construction but inspite of that I was very impressed with the staff and their ability to make us feel welcome and at home.. The finished product will be awesome!

The property did not disclaim at the time of booking that, it was under construction and that the entire lobby was unaccessible, therefore no breakfast. The pool area was closed, but then not closed to some. The entrance and exit doors did not work.....you could enter, but not exit, so people propped the doors open creating a safety issue. The hotel also backed up to a large homeless camp. Checkout is at 11am, but THREE TIMES I had someone walk in on me while i was packing before 1030am. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!@

Pool was great, breakfast was good, and the price was great.

I don’t really like this property, the staff were good.

Unfortunately I was bitten like crazy by bed bugs when I stayed here (late July 2021)! Beware!!!

It was a nice stay for traveling. No kids, just me and the husband.

Very clean and Comfortable bed. Quiet location. The in room heater was a little loud to start but quieted down after it ran a while. The pool heater was broken so we weren't able to try out the pool. The treadmill was noisy but worked fine. All in all a really good place to stay

Surrounding area haa some undesirables , motel 6 adjacent to property attracts lowlifes.

Located far enough from freeway to deaden traffic noise

The photos were a bit deceiving. The rooms were much smaller than expected. The TV didn’t work the first night and the smoke detector batteries died at 3am. The pool and hot tub were nice.

It sounds like you had a very concerning and disappointing experience at the hotel. The presence of a homeless camp nearby and individuals loitering in the parking lot can certainly create feelings of unease and discomfort for guests. Additionally, the lack of proper security measures, such as non-locking doors to both the exit and your room, is unacceptable and poses a significant safety risk.Furthermore, amenities like the pool lights not working and the broken hot tub, which was cordoned off with caution tape, detract from the overall experience and prevent guests from fully enjoying the facilities offered by the hotel. While it's commendable that the front desk staff member was polite and fulfilled his duties adequately, it's disheartening to hear that his attire appeared unkempt, suggesting a possible lack of attention to staff welfare and professionalism. It's crucial for the hotel management to address these issues promptly, ensuring the safety and comfort of their guests. This might include improving security measures, addressing maintenance issues promptly, and providing adequate support and resources for their staff. As a guest, it's important to communicate your concerns directly to the hotel management, either during your stay or through a follow-up communication afterward. This feedback can help them understand the severity of the situation and take appropriate actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with being placed in a handicapped room without carpet and encountering a slippery floor. It's understandable that this would be both unexpected and inconvenient. It appears there was a miscommunication or oversight in the booking process, particularly if you had specifically requested a regular room.Booking through a third-party website can sometimes lead to these kinds of situations, as preferences and special requests may not always be communicated accurately to the hotel. It's important for both guests and hotels to ensure clear communication and understanding of preferences to avoid such issues. It's advisable to bring this matter to the attention of both the third-party booking platform and the hotel management. They should be made aware of the discrepancy between what was booked and what was provided, as well as any safety concerns regarding the slippery floor. They may offer compensation or take steps to rectify the situation for you.Moving forward, you might consider booking directly with the hotel or being more explicit about your preferences and needs when booking through a third party to minimize the chances of similar incidents occurring in the future.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your stay at Baymont Yreka. We are excited for our renovations to be complete, so we can provide you with newly updated accommodations. Unfortunately, we must make changes for your safety. Our breakfast is still hot and delicious as always. In our lobby, we provide grab and bag breakfast, for your convenance. Our door latches were all being replaced and upgraded for the ultimate safety, thank you for noticing. Like all towns across the nation, our town also has a homeless population. We work closely with the city and the police department to ensure all our guests are safe. Please ask to speak to the General Manager directly the next time you stay with us. Your concerns are important to us, and as you can see there are answers to all of your concerns. We aim for your satisfaction and look forward to serving you again. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
