We will be staying here again for our overnight family visits. Clean, quiet, and efficient. I will attest to there being no signs of bedbugs. My only disappointment was for my husband as there was no coffee left for him at breakfast and no way to obtain more/no self service even.
A delightful old school motel in an idyllic location. Simplicity and cleanliness walk hand in hand to create an experience that is very pleasing to the senses. I have a feeling that Emerson and Thoreau would have loved this place.
The property is older and the rooms show some wear. There are no real amenities other than an ice machine and vending machine (right beside our room). So at 04:00 when someone was filling a “bathtub” with ice it woke us and kept us awake for some time. The highway is also 200 feet from the doors so road noise is an issue. The “full” breakfast was nothing more than two types of danish, two cold cereals, coffee and two juices. Not a full breakfast. That being said, if you book your room through a site like Expedia etc the price will balance out some of the shortcomings.
I had to give a Saturday noon presentation in Warren, Ohio, so I drove from Columbus to Newton Falls and stayed at this Econolodge Friday night, near the intersection of the Ohio Turnpike and OH Route 5. I can report that the room and bath were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room had an ironing board and iron, a microwave oven, a small refrigerator, free WiFi, and a table at which to work. It was easy to control the room temperature and fan speed. The motel was very quiet and the free breakfast was open at 6:30 a.m. The breakfast offerings were not lavish, but did feature Danish, orange juice, milk, and three types of cereal. The motel is quiet because it is far enough away from a state highway that does not have much traffic. I found the owner to be friendly and helpful. All of this for $60. I took a photo to include with this review. I will stay there again when next inn the area. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot--you can add me to the other reviewers to report zero bedbugs.
I review based on what the lodging promised. This is my second visit. First of all, this hotel was very reasonably priced. Secondly, the room was clean (yes we checked). Sometimes in this part of Ohio it’s difficult to find hotels close to the highway - this one is within a half of a mile making for quick access. The lady at the front desk was very professional and efficient. The breakfast area was small, the baked goods were fresh, and the selection was pretty standard. Finally, this is a smaller population area, so the dining options are limited, however, we did find a truck stop restaurant roughly 2 miles down the road called “The Middle of the Country” which was very good.
Don't stay! Rude staff!!! Bedbugs!! When I took proof to front desk they said sorry we can't refund your money! The office staff didn't care stated they don't have bedbugs. But they told me what to do with our luggage....I was told to put everything in plastic bags but didn't offer any! The staff said bedbugs are everywhere not just there. So they are aware and I hope this helps someone not to stay there.
Called the day before made reservations. Room was clean quiet and very inexpensive 65$ +tx. Staff was very helpful as we arrived late and they gave us info on available restaurants! Would gladly stay again.
We took a trip from Northern Michigan to DC to Knoxville to Nashville to Indy then home and this was our first motel of the trip. We were very pleased with this motel. It was right next to the off ramp of the Toll road 80 and next to the on ramp to get back on. I'm partial to motels as you can pull right up to the door which makes it nice for unloading and loading, and this motel had nice big parking spots. We checked in late so the clerk was behind glass with the little pass through slot which is always interesting but once we got to the room it was very nice, very spacious, clean, comfortable beds, and we didn't hear any noises all night. They don't have much for breakfast, which we passed on, but for the money compared to everything around, this is definitely a good value. This is our third time staying around this area and we will definitely stay here again next time through.
sought out this place b/c was traveling with my little dog- (was only 1and half hrs from home) but didn't want to drive @ night-- needless to say, glad I brought my own bedsheets, and the pup was NOT allowed to sleep on the carpet- slept w/me , like always:)) Felt I paid way too much, about 79 bucks /night-- even with a pet- but was close to a really good local family restaurant, w/ good Chicken Wings, (Westfall's) The hotel was a place to sleep, and that's about it. Bathroom was decently clean, but the floors and the carpet gave me the heebie-jeebies.... YIKES!!
A group of friends stayed. We rented 4 rooms. We arrived around 5pm. We hung out in our rooms for about an hour or so. Then we drove to an opening of a friends bar. The Yellow Dog Saloon! Try it if your in the area. We arrived back around midnight. Everything was quiet, and we all rested well.
