So my girlfriend and I stayed at Tamarack lodge in November for my birthday and I really felt like it was a special treat. Everything was perfect, from the cute cabin with an amazing view to the staff that were all very friendly. We were checked in and out by Andrew, he was so nice and really took care of us. He set us up in what I felt was the best cabin and because we booked a package deal were able to get our lift tickets right in the front office. I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great stay in mammoth. We will defiantly be coming back next year.
I brought my mom here originally for dinner at the Lakefront Restaurant inside Tamarack. We came for the food but ended up falling in love with the atmosphere and the lodge. The lobby is rustic and beautiful, they had a live musician playing, and the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. We sat in the lobby for at least an hour just enjoying the view and the music. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a nice, quiet get a way.
This charming hotel on the edge of a lake offers amazing views. The first thing that greeted me when I arrived was a breathtaking view of a frozen lake. Walking in the lodge, you can't miss the scent of the hot apple cider which tastes even better than it smells. The staff at Tamarack Lodge are as warm and friendly as the fire kept burning in the fire place. If you want a quiet and friendly place to relax in Mammoth Lakes, then you won't go wrong with Tamarack Lodge.
We love everything about this place. The staff were sweet efficient and helpful. The cabin rustic comfortable and warm. The kitchen was well equipped. We chose a cabin in the back with beautiful views and a short walk (2-3 min walk) from the lodge which then was close but gave a sense of being secluded with more privacy and quiet. The paths can be icy but of course is what you want with a site kept to the feeling of being in nature. The location is the best in mammoth. Gorgeous stunning lake front nestled up in a higher lake valley yet only a few min drive from town. Having the complementary breakfast in the lodge was a very pleasant way to start the morning. Visiting the jacuzzi which is in the main mammoth lodge about 15 min drive away (far), was a pleasant experience with a night view of the mountain but it also made us very happy to be staying at full of character Tamarack lodge and not the generic main lodge.
The lodge and resort are located above Mammoth Lakes. The Lodge, restaurant, and resort overlook the Twin Lakes. We have stayed here a few times, and have eaten at the restaurant. Both Summer and Winter the area is great. Mammoth Mountain and the area has a lot to offer. Devils postpone, hiking, dirt biking, skiing, fishing, etc. The Tamarack Lodge and Resort are away from Mammoth in a beautiful area.
The best place to stay at while visiting mammoth hands down ! Everyone in the staff is so courteous and friendly ! I’ve only stayed in their cabins not the hotel part but the cabins are so cozy and comfy . And some even have a view of the beautiful twins lake and mountains right outside the window . But regardless of where u stay the lake is walking distance and the resort itself is located at a very convenient area ,it is near a few roads that lead to other lakes . Will definitely be coming back again !
Stayed here for 1 night in a Lodge room this last summer. The overall experience was mediocre. Room was very small, pricey, and not very clean. We ate at the restaurant and found it VERY pricey, food overrated, and service very poor. The only really nice part of this place is the location. VERY PRETTY SPOT! We decided to try this place again and booked what we hoped would be a better room. We will NEVER eat at the restaurant again... We had something come up and had to cancel and this is where we found out how messed up the Tamarack Lodge is. TWENTY ONE day cancellation policy ? Who does that? A FULL WEEK before my check in date I called to cancel only to learn about this horrid, exploitative policy. I could see this policy, maybe, in the winter when Mammoth is busy. But this reservation was early fall when Mammoth is DEAD. The "deposit" I forfeited was pretty much the entire room fee less the tax. So Tamarack Lodge, here is what the $152 that you screwed me out of is going to buy you. Everyone that I know, meet, or run into will get an ear full of how lousy a place Tamarack Lodge is! How crummy the food is, how filthy the cockroaches running around on the floor were, and how rude and offensive the staff is. Enjoy the $152! I hope to make it cost you $15,200 in future business. Have a nice day..
What an amazingly charming lodge! Right on the lake which was lined with aspen changing colors! Wow it was like staying in a postcard! Even the 20s music they played in the lounge by the fireplace was perfect it totally fit the atmosphere. it was also so close to the places we wanted to check out, Devil's Postpile and Rainbow falls.
We rented a studio cabin with plenty of room for 2 people. We had a view of both lakes, Upper and Lower Twin. The place was clean and ready for us for early checkin. It was a little windy, but as you know it's almost always. Fishing was AMAZING. It snowed on our departure date, wow it was beautiful. The roof leaked in the kitchen but that was minor. Speaking of kitchen, it had a stove and oven, microwave oven, 12 cup coffee pot, toaster and small refer.
What a great experience! Accommodation is best described as an authentic lodge in beautiful surroundings. Rooms are small but very comfortable and nicely decorated. Shared bathroom is very clean. The staff, and especially the manager Michael Peckenpaugh, is extremely welcoming, warming and cooperative. Breakfast is included and decent. Had a blast!! Would definitely recommend this place!
