I was minimally satisfied with the accommodations but not wowed. The entry area going to the lobby off the garage carpet is pretty worn and dirty as is the stairwells carpet. The walls and especially above the chair rail in our hallway were pretty dirty. The breakfast area cabinets are also quite dusty you can see when sitting at your table eating. It is an older facility and in need of updating. I did not give highest marks on the first impression survey and within 2 minutes received a call from the front desk stating if I wasn't happy I was welcome to go across the street. I assume they would be more interested in using customer comments to review their cleaning process rather than twisting customer arms to get the ratings they want.

Would definitely choose this hotel again. Obvious that the management works hard to maintain and manage.

We only stayed here because they had great reviews. Don't let that fool you. This hotel does not have any air conditioning. Their rooms are extremely hot. They give you a cheap little fan and tell you to open the sliding glass door for air. Yeah because that's safe. We didn't sleep all night because of the temperature. They guy who works the overnight shift was extremely rude

We were going for a weekend trip and this was a perfect spot for the price. In was in town with many choices (food, shops)within walking distance.

The Sierra Lodge is a nice place with large rooms. But the place is showing it's age and needs some T.L.C. The breakfast is an after thought, good for some coffee and that's about it.

We were just stopping over for a night while driving through the mountains. The facility is a bit worn, but the room was spacious and adequate for our overnight. Staff was very friendly. There is no elevator.

spacious rooms. great amenities. close to bus stop. definitely returning :)

The rooms where dated, but clean. The beds and sheets where nice, which is very important to us. The bathroom was clean. We liked the little breakfast room and hung out there in the evening reading. The staff was really great especially the guy up front over the weekend. Location is good if you are skiing from canyon lodge. The town bus stops out front and it is only a couple of stops until you get to the village at the base of the canyon lodge. They also have covered parking.

close enough to everything people do there. can walk to dinner and a quick drive to everything else

I have stayed here before and will do so again in the future. Book early though. Vacancies at this property are not the norm especially during holidays. Oh, the breakfast is good too. Lots of coffee:)

The staff really helped me in several ways from giving me tools to work on my skis to letting me check out 1 hour later. Both front desk men were also very cordial during my stay. Would stay again. Cheers, Brett

For the price we pay, we have everything we need. Comfortable bed, clean rooms and sheets. It also provide a basic breakfast, The place has no AC but they provide a fan, It also has a microwave.

Room is clean and comfort. Breakfast service is so so.

It was the perfect getaway in a good but simple hotel. It is an old building but well maintained. The breakfast is complimentary but very simple. The carpet looks old but clean. To our surprise, the kitchenette had dishes and silverware. The fridge is always convenient. However, we missed the coffee maker. We really enjoyed the spa but unfortunately it wasn't working. Just hot water. Good hotel with the minimum stuff.

Very friendly staff & those customers who are staying in this lodge. Location is excellent. It is close-by all sight-seeing places...

The location right next to Angel's Restaurant was the best part of my stay.. A bit loud near the road/parking lot at night, but good service and overall location made it worth while.

Good place for few days..but .we went to Yosemite Park..too distant from the park!

Hotel room was clean and spacious. I was in a room with a single king bed. The washroom and closet area was also big and spacious. I also had a refrigerator, and microwave. I was there to snowboard and the bus to Mammoth was right on the corner of the hotel. Very convenient. The hotel is on the main drag and within walking distance of restaurants and stores. Parking for my vehicle was underground the hotel. Again, very convenient. While the hotel looks hallways look a bit tattered and old, the rooms were in very good condition. A very nice place to stay.

Nice people. Continental breakfast was on the thin side. But overall nice place

Best value at Mammoth Lakes. Basic rooms, friendly front desk and a continental breakfast to boot.

Hello, for the benefit of those reading this review and this reply please understand we have made direct contact with this guest in private. By reading the reviews one will discover that the hotel does not not have A/C in the majority of its guest rooms. We do not advertise that we have A/C. The Sierra Lodge in not the only property in Mammoth Lakes without A/C. If A/C is a priority for you, then please do not book here. Perhaps assumptions were made by this booker that all lodging properties have A/C? At least 5 other motel/hotel properties in our similar price range also do not have A/C. 95% of private residences; houses, condos, apartments, including Air B&B do not have A/C. While it can occasionally get into the low 80 degrees temperature range in the day, the temperature cools to the low 50's in the evening. All of the guest rooms have full sixed windows or sliding glass doors and when opened, most find the rooms to cool fabulously. Unfortunately and apparently this guest did not feel safe opening the window. As a result the room will get warm, hot even. Mammoth is a very safe and has essentially a zero crime pertaining to break-ins so having a open window is safe, especially on the second floor where this guest was staying. We also provide full size fans. We do acknowledge the importance of A/C and are working to install units in all guest rooms.

Thank you for taking time to comment. We are commencing some updates on the property. I am sorry to hear that your room was without a screen. We will fix that. The continental breakfast (not a full breakfast) includes; a variety of bagels, pastries, instant oatmeal, cereals, English muffins and bread for toasting, apples, oranges and bananas. We appreciate the feedback.

Thank you. We schedule the hot tub hours to be at 104 degrees as people check in (3:00pm) or get off the mountain and close it at (10pm) a time not too late to disturb the guests that have rooms located near the hot tub.We appreciate your comments and hope to see you again.
