Location is the best thing about this hotel. Its walking distance to a beautiful piece of history; Jamestown and the California gold rush. My interaction with the staff was very good. It works for shorts stays. The overall condition and probably represents the condition of most hotels in the area. Its just middle of the road as hotels go and the rooms wear and tear is evident.

It's a nice quiet place, a block off Main Street. Jamestown is only 2-3 miles from Sonora with a nice little downtown of its own. Recommended.

THE ROOM IS VERY CLEAN, COMFORTABLE. I WILL RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS.

Excellent staff service...bathroom slightly smaller compared to others, but we dun care much abt it cuz it just one night stay n it has enough room to get everything done.... Has old a/c but it works fine...

The staff was nice and recommended a great breakfast spot. The room wasn't glamorous, but the bed was comfy and the pool was relaxing in the morning. The town is super cute and was worth stopping in on our way from Yosemite to SF,

Just a quick 2 nite stay to be near Sonora. Needed something with a micro and fridge, and this was reasonable, and included the optional hot tub, which we used one night. Just a little something different. Place was very clean, and surprising roomy. Quiet, good working heater/air conditioner, that's nice. One thing, - need to put anti skid bottom in hot tub, and handles to hang on to. VERY difficult to get in and out of - unsafe. Just be careful.

The hotel is kind of old, but it is clean and well maintained. It is in walking distance from the city center.

Average hotel, clean room, not very friendly staff and signs. The room has a huge hot tub BUT you have to pay extra if you want to use it. Lovely town. Pet friendly! !

it was a nice place for in the middle of a little town in the middle of gold country. It was clean. I slept just fine and would stay there again.

My teenage son and I needed an overnight place to stay. Not looking for anything fancy, just the basics, and we found it. Clean, comfortable and convenient to Main Street in historic Jamestown. I would really love to have had some breakfast and coffee available since there is really nothing in town. We went to Sonora for breakfast, when we would have preferred to stay where we were.

Railroad Motel is as old & historic as the rest of Jamestown, CA, but the room was large, clean and offered new comfortable beds and a nice strong hot shower. The manager was friendly and accommodating for the three of us. A half block off main street, and within walking distance of the whole town, this is a convenient and economical stop two hours from Yosemite Village via Buck Meadows Entrance/Exit & SR-120/49. Eating places available, but otherwise a very quiet, early & comfortable night before moving on to Auburn & north.

I did not find a review before reserving my stay, but it was last minute and not many options available. It is a clean and nice place for a 2star hotel, no bad odors, spacious rooms. Bed was comfortable (firm). A jacuzzi (in room) use would have been $25 extra, which I find overpriced, but they asked in advance, without overselling. I wish the room was cheaper, but I guess the demand was high when we visited...

my husband suggested this town, it was something different for us to get-a-way for the weekend, it does need some up-grading because the room did have an old odor. But for the price and we were there just to sleep and tour the surrounding area.

Visited the ghost town of Sonora and Jamestown was a nice replica of a Old Western town.
