The room was too small. There are not place for chair. You don't have space to eat, to seat or relax. There are not breakfast - it is lie in add. Water came from sealing window on bed while you are sleeping. You will hear every move outside the wall. There are mold in bathroom. Window is dead - in wall. Smells hemicals.

The staff was friendly. However the room was gross. The paint was peeling and marked up all over the wall. The mattress was so lumpy and saggy it was hard to keep from rolling into the middle, let alone sleep. I felt uncomfortable even speaking at a whisper because I could hear everything that the person next door was doing (sneezing, opening a bag of chips, unzipping suitcase) and I knew they could hear us.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Rude as could be

I had a cottage, though there are rooms in the authentic "western town" hotel building. The property seems to be in progress with improvements. The cottage was very clean and the bed very comfortable. While the interior was quite serviceable (kitchen facilities, AC, TV, WiFi), it's appearance was not at all sophisticated. Like I said, serviceable. The staff was helpful (the TV connection did not work well), and the property was quiet. Best thing about it was the bed comfort and the price. The morning breakfast was very reasonable with a decent selection of foods. I traveled alone, so "serviceable" worked. But friends or people looking for modern comfort in a room would probably be disappointed.

It's okay for a night ... Located in the middle of small town

Nice hotel and affordable rates. Would recommend it to friends and family.

The hotel is very classic. Although it looks old and IT IS old, but very clean. The atmosphere was great.

I didn't realize this was a restored version of a gold rush era hotel. It was fascinating to explore, and there was a distinctly social atmosphere there. i took my son and we both had a wonderful experience in Gold rush country.

It was a good stop on our way to Yosemite. Worth being a bit further away

Charming older hotel in the center of Jamestown. Lounging on the balcony watching passerbys is a must. Super helpful staff - I happened to leave my wallet in the bedroom and they retrieved it and overnighted to me. Thank you so much! I was worried sick.

Room was clean and quaint with upgraded beds and amenities. Parking was adequate for small to mid size vehicles only... Not a good idea for the elderly or disabled.

This is an old bed and breakfast. No luxury, but only two hours to Yosemite, and convenient for exploring gold rush country.

Well, the hotel was not what I expected. It was quaint, clean, but very old. The room was small and cramped. The bed took up most of the space. There was no closet to hang my clothes. I couldn't figure out how to get hot water in the shower, so I had to go down and get the desk clerk to come up and turn it on for me. If you're into the "Old West" kind of thing, this hotel would be perfect.

We attended a car show nearby and this was exactly what we needed and a very reasonable price. We would stay there again.

Quaint old place right on main street in Jamestown. "Continental breakfast" was a joke. Go across the street to eat.

The rooms are very dirty, for instance, the curtains have certainly not been cleaned for years. The "lite breakfast" actually consists of a cookie wrapped in plastic. They serve something they call juice which is so dilute that you can't even taste the fruit in it. When we asked for milk for our daughter, the guy at the reception told us they don't serve milk and that we should buy it at a supermarket.

do not stay in cottage 5 it needs to be redone others are much better

I booked 2 separate rooms on [...], when my employees arrived with 2 separate confirmation numbers the individual behind the desk said he only had one reservation and had to call [...]. Of course he told [...] he was sold out (all the while my employees notice the parking lot has 1 car in it)and had to put my employees in a room with a pull out bed that didn't work. I'd noticed that the quality of this place had rapidly descended the last few months based on prior reviews on other sites, but I figured with confirmation numbers we wouldn't have a problem. Wrong! Save yourself the grief, stay somewhere else!

Went to visit family and friends. Arrived at the Hotel late so unable to change rooms. Room had strong smell of pinesol that did not go away. When I awoke in the morning, the roof had leaked with huge puddles even into the bathroom.

It was not clear in the reservation that the bathroom was across the hall, meaning you have to leave the room. I also had to track down an extension cord to use the microwave without unplugging the refrigerator. The AC also kept the room at around 60-65 degrees -- way too cold for the average person.
