We stayed here for my sons graduation and were not disappointed. Mark and Louise are great hosts and went out of their way to accommodate us. We had two rooms which were both lovely and clean and well decorated. The breakfast was lovely and tasted like really good local produce. There is parking at the rear which is really handy and only about 10 minutes in to the city. The place was lovely and quiet which no noise from the other rooms which was good. We would definitely stay here again .
We only stayed one night here, although would have loved to stay longer. Our hosts were great and very hospitable. The room was comfortable and clean and had all the amenities needed. Although there are a few rooms, we had a quiet stay and no problems with noise from other rooms. Breakfast was very good, and we left very satisfied with our stay.
My friend and I stayed 2 nights at Blakeney House. It is a quiet space, there are quite a few rooms, but we didn't hear much from our neighbours. Our room was nice, not that big, but definitely big enough for the 2 of us. The bathroom was small but efficient. There were toiletries and tea and coffee for us to enjoy. It was clean and it looked like it was well cared for. Breakfast was good. They had set times for breakfast - which I understand - but it worked out for us. It was a quick bus ride from downtown York, so it was easy to get back and forth to the city centre. There was parking on site in a little parking lot in the back. The stalls were a little small and the area tight - but I'm used to Canadian lots were things are much bigger. The owners were lovely and chatted with us and offered us great advice on what to see and where to eat in the city. The showed us the bus stop and told us how to get back and forth from town. We had a great stay, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice quiet space to spend their nights.
Stayed at Blakeney House for a weekend, a really nice b & b, the room was spacious , clean and comfortable, Louise was very welcoming and friendly (didn't meet her partner) which made the weekend much more pleasant. The breakfast was lovely and they even offered a daily special. Easy reach for York city centre. Will happily book a return stay. Thanks Louise.😀
Highly recommend a stay with Mark & Louise. Very informative of local events and places of interest. Accommodation of high standard. Breakfast options were excellent especially the scrambled eggs! Will be recommending to family and friends. Would definitely book again.
We spent a lovely couple of days here recently. We were celebrating my father in law's 98th birthday by taking him to Elvington Air museum where he was stationed during the war. Although still mobile he appreciated the downstairs bedroom and walk-in shower. Mark and Louise were very helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. It was great for the 5 of us to come in in the evening and chat in the lounge over a cup of tea. The breakfasts were gorgeous and set us up for the day. All in all we had a great weekend.
We had a great little weekend stay recently. Owners helpful with places to eat etc. Lovely en-suite room with excellent hospitality tray. Fresh milk & water in fridge on landing if top up required...a nice little touch. Good breakfast with daily specials. A little way out from city centre but bus stop just outside and the walk is pleasant. Ever in York again we will happily stay here. Thanks again for lovely weekend
I stayed here at short notice for a single night. The room was large, clean and comfortable, well furnished and very good value.I slept like a top. Breakfast was outstanding, individual prepared and served pleasantly. Nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly stay here again if in the York area
Stayed here for a couple of nights recently while visiting family in York. Very comfy en-suite room. Really nice breakfast. Plenty of room for parking and bus stops just outside for the city centre, and also to the coast. Friendly hosts. Will definitely stay again.
Arrived late after driving down from Scotland. Parked right outside the door and met on arrival by owner. Room clean, reasonably spacious and with good modern decor. Own bathroom en suite. TV and tea and coffee making facilities in room with fridge containing resupply and bottled water on the landing for all to use. Excellent breakfast before heading out for a meeting. Shirt stay but owners friendly and helpful and the property in good clean condition with well designed comfortable rooms. Would happily have stayed longer.
