Dirty Smell was unbelievable
Room had dead cockroaches in it. At least they were dead. We checked the rest of the room and it was clear. We kept our bags in the car just incase. I told the owner and he said he would spray the room AGAIN. Also the breakfast area was let’s say, needs a good make over. But the room was ok otherwise. It was just dated and we were surprised it had such a good rating and also the cost was high. It should be $50 a night, not $80.
I was worried that the wifi was troublesome and it lived up to that expectation.
There was a strange smell in the room and it was fairly loud whenever traffic drove by outside. Didn’t sleep well.
Very nice people. I called to get address and directions, very couteous. Only negative was limited breakfast items

Convenient. Staff helpful. Room clean and well maintained. Bath with dispensers for body wash and shampoo. Minimal continental breakfast (no yoghurt, fruit) Did offer waffles and cereal incl oatmeal. coffee..

When walking into the lobby it had a strange smell. Did not ask for proof of id. Room was clean, beds were very nice. Had only dispensers for soap and shampoo. The lotion one was empty. Room had the smell of cigarette smell covered with bad deodorizer. When checking out I asked for a copy of my bill. She made a face and told me she never took my credit card, that it was paid by the place I booked it through. I informed her I needed a bill. She then handed me one. Breakfast was a loaf of bread, hard boiled eggs, practically empty cereal containers. Milk jugs. For the cost of this place, too high for the quality. I've paid less at name brand motels.
I've stayed here a couple of times because of price, but didn't want to go as cheap as Motel 6 and I have been warned about York's Super 8. Maybe because I only got a queen bed this time, I was given a room that was in a series of 4 rooms enclosed between two doors (rooms 135-138). The rest of the rooms are accessible directly to the outside. I could hear the conversation next door clearly and people walking around from the room above, but the worst was when someone would enter into this hallway and one of the door slams closed. It woke me up a few times. The complimentary breakfast is served from 6-9 which is not as long as the hotel down the road and only consisted of make your own waffles, cold cereal, biscuits and sausage gravy & cinnamon rolls in a small room with only 3 or 4 tables. A few of us had to take ours "to go". It is an old motel, but was not gross by any means. It is probably the 4th best hotel out of the 8 in town.
Wife and I didn't need pool, spa, sumptuous meals and luxury accommodations. We needed and received a thoroughly clean room, bed, and bath, and a modest, tasty breakfast after a quiet night's sleep. We got all that at a fair price and would gladly use this place again. It's location was also just right for us, going from central Colorado to NE Iowa.
We were on our way to a Cornhuskers football game, traveling with our Golden Retriever. We wanted a place pet friendly, and close in so we could drive to the early FB game. Rates are very reasonable, room was large and relatively clean. We like that we cold park in front of our door. There is a $10 non refundable charge for the pet, which was NOT listed on website. Breakfast was good, even though the breakfast nook was small, they accommodated by adding another table in the lobby area. Would stay there again.
