We were looking for an authentic old traditional hotel in Yogyakarta and we were not disappointed at all. We got a conjoined room as requested on the south part of the hotel. The swimming pool was located just behind our room for the children convenience. Their garden is exceptionally beautiful, well taken care off. The pool is clean and well maintain. Breakfast spread are mixed with some traditional flavour like gado, pecel. There are jamu too. The house keeping staff are polite, kind, friendly and attentive. We had a great stay at puri artha. Thank you for making our stay memorable.
i had stay on october 22 , 2017 with my family due gradution day . during the the stay for 2 night i was impressed by service of staff eventhough is not younger /teen staff. especially for room boy who had cleaned our room very friendly by natural attitude.but our nice stay is break for disturbing at first night due the door is not properly to coverage and your will got the sound of wind.. it is very disturbed on all night,, please priority to maintance as your design is beautifu with balinese styles
I stayed here with ten students on a study tour and really liked it. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a private shuttle to Malioboro and an easy walk or becak ride back. There are plenty of places to eat or shop in the area and the rooms are very comfy and clean. The beds are very comfy, I slept really well, bathroom large and functional with good water pressure. I also had laundry done and it was cheap and easy. The pool is across the rd in the other building with more rooms. There are staff to stop traffic so you can cross and this was not at all an issue. We ate dinner here and it was delicious. The hotel also has an internal day spa open until 11pm. I would stay again.
Although a bit old-fashioned, The hotel is a feast for the eyes. The moment you enter the lobby, you’d see lovely traditional Javanese furniture and decorations. On certain nights, a group plays the gamelan while guests enjoy dinner. The ambience offered by the hotel is great for meditation and relaxation. The staff is warm and friendly. I wish I stayed longer but I had to fly back to Jakarta to catch my plane back home. I am definitely going back to Yogja and will stay in this hotel again.
The hotel is like an Oasis in a very busy town. The rooms are large and comfortable. The balcony is very pleasant. The staff is very polite and friendly but Rena is by far the best! She makes your day!! Enjoy this wonderful hotel. A great place to stay.
I stayed two weeks in this hotel in the building where the swimmingpool is located. The rooms are spacious, clean and my room had two front doors: one to the garden, the other one to the road. You need some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Pak Tri and Rena from the restaurant were so great and sweet to me. They even helped me with my PR, because I was studying the language. If you want to eat something else than from the menu, just ask for it and they will make your dinner a feast! Pak Tri and Rena made me feel at home, I'm so thankfull for that! Breakfast was good (I mostly ate bubur ayam, because I didn't had much time in the morning and I love that stuff). I didn't try lunch. Staff of the reception desk and security were superfriendly and concerned. I would stay here again!
We have been one week on this hotel, And I only can tell good things about it. The room will be more than you expect, the furnitures are gorgeous, the breakfast is incredible, the entire place is like a temple, and the swimming pool is perfect. good service and very well located.
We had the deluxe room which was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a nice authentic atmosphere and architecture. The pool is large, towels are provided and it's very clean. Great breakfast with large choice + the possibility of having an omelette made with the ingredients of your choice. Only negative point : the bathroom. Our room had a really really old bathroom with an almost non functioning shower. Good luck rinsing shampoo from your hair.... The hotel should definitely invest in renovating the bathrooms.
The hotel is located in a quiet area populated by students of the university nearby. There seems to be a discrepancy between the looks and quality of the public space of the hotel and the guests rooms. The entire property is very pretty, furnished in traditional Javanese style, wooden piece of furniture, plants and a little enclosed garden with a pond. However, our room was shady and quite "weary", especially the bathroom. Similarly, the air-con was presumably old and thus very noisy, although we would have wanted it during the night. E side it was very hot, we had to switch it off. The breakfast was quite abundant in quantity but more attention should be paid to the display and display of the food: there were several jars of jam totally opened and full of little flies. All in all it was okay for a short stay but improvements need to be carried out.
Puri Artha has been a popular hotel in Yogyakarta for many years, and with good reason. It has a genuinely authentic atmosphere about it, unlike the new, souleless hotels sprining up in Yogya. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food in the dining room is basic but entirely adequate. over all it represents good value for money. It's not perfect, though. The 'superior' rooms are a bit dowdy, and even in the slightly larger, more expensive rooms the water pressure can be variable. All things considered, though, it is excellent value for money.
