We have been one week on this hotel, And I only can tell good things about it. The room will be more than you expect, the furnitures are gorgeous, the breakfast is incredible, the entire place is like a temple, and the swimming pool is perfect. good service and very well located.
We had the deluxe room which was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a nice authentic atmosphere and architecture. The pool is large, towels are provided and it's very clean. Great breakfast with large choice + the possibility of having an omelette made with the ingredients of your choice. Only negative point : the bathroom. Our room had a really really old bathroom with an almost non functioning shower. Good luck rinsing shampoo from your hair.... The hotel should definitely invest in renovating the bathrooms.
The hotel is located in a quiet area populated by students of the university nearby. There seems to be a discrepancy between the looks and quality of the public space of the hotel and the guests rooms. The entire property is very pretty, furnished in traditional Javanese style, wooden piece of furniture, plants and a little enclosed garden with a pond. However, our room was shady and quite "weary", especially the bathroom. Similarly, the air-con was presumably old and thus very noisy, although we would have wanted it during the night. E side it was very hot, we had to switch it off. The breakfast was quite abundant in quantity but more attention should be paid to the display and display of the food: there were several jars of jam totally opened and full of little flies. All in all it was okay for a short stay but improvements need to be carried out.
Puri Artha has been a popular hotel in Yogyakarta for many years, and with good reason. It has a genuinely authentic atmosphere about it, unlike the new, souleless hotels sprining up in Yogya. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food in the dining room is basic but entirely adequate. over all it represents good value for money. It's not perfect, though. The 'superior' rooms are a bit dowdy, and even in the slightly larger, more expensive rooms the water pressure can be variable. All things considered, though, it is excellent value for money.
Excellent hotel. Beautiful scenery Spa has very affordable massage, facial and manicure/pedicure. About $15 USD for 1 hour. I tried a Javanese massage and was delighted. Restaurant has a good menu with friendly staff. Most employees speak very good English. Pool on site. Cons: the street outside is a bit busy if you want to walk in the neighborhood. The shower rod in the shower is very low so better for people under 5 foot. For taller people, you have to detach the shower head to wash yourself. No security box in the room to lock important things like passport.
Stayed here for 6 nights on business. Hotel in small street a bit out of the main city area. Street is small but actually very busy. Hotel is spread across both sides of the street and there are security guards to stop the traffic to get across the road. Lovely gardens and traditional cottage style rooms on 3 levels. Room was large and had lovely balcony and was clean and comfortable. bathroom however was very small and the water pressure almost non existent. Was fine for me but would be hard if you had to wash long hair or bathe children. Toilet paper also was very sparse and not always topped up. Breakfast was great and did have a nice meal here one night but it is a bit expensive. Alcoholic drinks are ridiculously expensive. Buy your own but buy a bottle opener as there isnt one in the room. Staff are very good and used laundry service and clothes returned clean even though I lost a couple of pairs of underwear and inherited someone else's. The pool is great. Street hotel is on has a great espresso coffee shop opposite and upstairs, some cjeap eats and very good casual clothing and shoes (mainly for men) which were excellent quality and extremely cheap.
PA Hotel represents Indonesian hotel standard 10 years ago. So i felt like time travelling. The facilities therefor are quite old and the comfort limited. But the old fashioned design, garden and Gamelan live music for breakfast are things you wont find any more soon due to the pressure of modernization. Therefor i recommend to visit Puri Artha if you look for an "authentic" experience.
The hotel room is clean and beautiful. Very relaxing, quite and good breakfast. Staff is helpful and the surrounding is nice look like in Bali.Nice to take photos around the hotel area. Will be back there again.....
The hotel ambiance was beautiful and interesting. The room has good beds and soft pillows, allowing good rest. The shower has an annoying low pressure, at the beginning the water was warm (NOT HOT) and then it turned completely cold. The breakfast was OK, it was a buffet, but could have more occidental options. The is in the other building of the hotel, so I must cross the street, not the ideal at at.. The crew was really nice, supportive, everyone was extremely polite.
The hotel is located is a quiet street. Rooms are spacious and practical, but the bathrooms in particular need to be renovated at this point. Each room features a couple of chairs under a porch with a view over the nice garden. This is a practical and nice enough hotel if you are planning to be outside visiting the city and nearby temples.
