staff is excellent the building is old but nice. The pool is very good, feels like at the beach. The hotel near city center and airport. Food is good taste but need more variety. Price of this hotel is average
We arrived on 28th April 2017 @Novotel Yogyakarta. When we checked in, surprisingly we got a special room in 821 with a special written door which is Planet 21. "This Room the Planet can sleep peacefully". Not only the exterior but the interior is also clean and peaceful. We hope to get this room again for our next trip. Thank you Novotel Yogya you are Great
Stayed at room 431. The light in the room kept turning on and off several times. The breakfast tastes average. Location is quite good. At its surrounding, the hotel has many local food sellers where you can try them for culinary purpose.
it's so happy to stay @ novotel jogja, very strategic location. easy to malioboro, tugu, & other destinations in the city. food are delicious & tasty. quite room, you'll find relaxing atmosphere there
We loved our 7 days at the Novotel. The service was excellent the staff were always ready to help. The pool area is good with a nice area to relax in a pool side chair. The room was clean and tidy, though bathroom shows its age. The Buffett breakfast was good with a nice selection of local food along with the usual western foods. Coffee was good but only black coffee, the cappuccino was not good, way too much milk, not enough coffee. Gym was good, there is enough items to have a good work out. A good mention goes to Dewa at the Bar, as he provided excellent service, and was always ready to help with a smile. Overall a good hotel to visit if you want to visit Jogja, centrally located and provides all a family needs. Check out the 20% cash back to you at the hotel which you can on food and drink at Hotel! We Booked via Novotel internet web site, it was great as it basically cost us nothing to eat and drink there. We would return to this Hotel.
I usually stayed this hotel when I visit Yogyakarta. Breakfast in this restaurant is delicious . This hotel located in the town area woth most public amenities readily available. Recomended restaurant near this hotel is bunbu desa. It takes a few minutes from the hotel on foot. Bumbu Desa provide us delicious Indonesian foods.
I've stayed in Novotel Jogjakarta twice, the most recent stay was in April 2017. I like this hotel because of the location, the staffs, and the overall ambiance. it is located on one of the main road in Jogjakarta, just in front of a big hospital and next to Galleria Mall Matahari, so it is easy to find places to eat nearby. There are also some decent restaurants within walking distance. The staffs are courteous and attentive. If you like the crochet handbags by Dowa (a well-known local brand), you can also visit their outlet on the ground floor of this hotel. Breakfast buffet was adequate, although I personally think that they need to have the restaurant's AC serviced.
I recently stayed at the Novotel Yogyakarta (22nd to 26th April 2017) when I was holidaying with my family consisting of my wife and two young sons. We have stayed previously at other Novotel properties such as at Bali and consider it a very family friendly hotel chain. Check in was smooth. We arrived early at the hotel as our flight was an early one. The reception staff are professional and after a short wait were allowed to check in an hour early into our room. We were put up in room #601. The hotel is an old property but well maintained. The room had all required essentials in working condition. On our first day, we noticed that the water in the bathroom was not hot enough. We notified the house keeping and they rectified it immediately. There was only one small issue in the room - the mattresses in the room are quite old and not comfortable enough. They need to be replaced as it affects the quality of sleep which is of importance to a family especially after they have spent a tiring day touring the different areas surrounding Yogyakarta. The wifi also works with a decent speed and there were no complaints on that score. Travelers must be reminded that guests have to pay a refundable deposit of IDR 500,000 to use the mini-bar in the room. After paying this deposit, we realized the next morning that the fridge was not working at all. We needed the fridge to store milk and few drinks for the children. Fortunately, the milk remained unspoilt. We brought it to the notice of the house keeping and they brought in a new fridge immediately. The house keeping staff are polite and work with a smile. In the hotel, the breakfast spread was more than adequate. But, if you are a vegetarian family like ours - it is a bit disappointing. On all the days, the chef in the restaurant prepared some vegetarian food for us upon our request. A hotel like Novotel who cater to different tastes and have an international presence should have placed some thought for vegetarian guests. Maybe, they should consider having a vegetarian corner in the restaurant during breakfast hours. It would also encourage other guests to have a vegetarian option for their breakfast. Some things that are bit irritating (but I guess, cannot be changed) is the lifts at the hotel. There are only two small lifts for the whole of the hotel guests. This means that you end having to wait for 10 -15 minutes each time you wish to go to your room or otherwise. The children & kids play room on floor two is also a bit of disappointment as it is meant for toddlers alone. However, the play space opposite the main reception area is quite nice. My young sons enjoyed playing there on all the days. If you wish to go to the airport, it would be advisable to take the hotel taxi as they charge only IDR 100,000 for the service (check out before 10 am only). Please make sure that you tell the driver to drop you off at the International terminal. We were dropped off at the domestic terminal and by the time we realized it, our taxi driver had already departed. Fortunately, there is a buggy service (free) if you wish to travel to the International Terminal from the Domestic Terminal. All in all a decent stay. The really impressive aspects of our stay at the hotel at Yogyakarta is the quality of the service provided by the Staff. A thumbs up for the smiling service provided!
We stayed in this hotel for 1 night only (11th April 2017) and enjoyed our stay to the fullest....great hospitality....good rooms and excellent food. The pool was great and the breakfast had a good spread, the bar at the lobby area offer happy hours in the evenings. They also have complementary shuttle to the near by mall.
The hotel is located in the town area with most public amenities readily available. A lot of eateries nearby, ranging from stalls to restaurants. Recommended foods nearby are (able to search via google for all names of stall and restaurant) : 1) Soto Pak Dalbe. It is a small stall that serves local breakfast (Soto Ayam), located in front of Pizza Hut. (same row as Novotel) 2) My Kopi-O, serves Indonesian Food. This is a bungalow converted kind of restaurant. Comfortable and good food. Wifi service available. 3) Martabak Kum Kum. Very good!
