“DON'T DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!! Howard Johnson Plaza Yakima/Near Convention Center 9 N 9th St, Yakima, WA” - - Room was not cleaned on 1st day. They said we told them not to clean. Not true. 2nd night-same occurrence but, room was cleaned at 10pm because I complained. 3rd night room not cleaned because personal item, which was a sleep shirt, left on one of queen beds. Hotel said other bed was given clean linen etc. but, not true since spread juxtaposition like we left it and carpet still required vacuuming, etc. - Bathroom - Gross with black ring around inside of stool and; commode top is too small for the commode. - I communicated these things to the front desk and received matching explanations from front desk and other employees. General Manager arrogantly explained, in a single voice message, why the 1st and 2nd incidents occurred but, her explanation did not match her employees explanations. General Manager's explanation was not the same as her employees. Hmm. Bytheway, that was the only time the GM reached out to me despite my visits to the front desk asking to speak with GM. Apathetic. - - Oh and they ran out of late checkouts. Yes, this hotel ran out of late checkouts per a senior front desk person. What? Exactly. So, I checked out at 10:39am. Prior to checking out other front desk person pulled me aside and extended check-out time to 12n. - Had great experience with Ms. Rivas and with Ms. Desiree, both Housekeeping, who passionately apologized and did was professional

I have stayed in many hotels like this one but this breakfast was great!! Scrambled eggs, potatoes, cinnamon rolls, breads, bagels, etc. Super cozy bed as well! Great place for the price!!! Free breakfast was amazing!!

The hotel staff were really nice. The only problem was the hygenic condition. The carpets were very stained and had a putrid odor. As for my room, where I stayed for 4 nights, had a few problems as well. The bathroom was never cleaned nor the sheats changed. The furniture and lamps had layers of dust and gum stuck to it. It was gross.

Great value for and location compared to other hotels near convention center.

The hotel staff was nice, the room was nice, the hotel is nice. But we had to lay towels down on the carpeting because it was extremely dirty. You could scoop up handfuls of accumulated dust and dirt. The carpet was sticky. It hadn't been cleaned in a very long time.

the carpet In the the hallways and in the room were not only filthy but wore out. The room was dirty, bathroom was not clean throughly from last person who rented it. The staff didn't seem consered even through I complained. HORRIBLE would not recommend

The hotel is in the center of the community. Adjecent to the convention center, on the main downtown street with easy freeway and street access. There is a nice pool and hot tub (closed for the winter months, outdoors). The restaurant and bar were very quiet again because of winter. Since there is no snow in the mountains right now the hotel had few guests.

Great location when attending the Sundome, and price isn't too bad either. My #1 stop when visit Yakima.

The beds and pillows were amazing. Overall, a great experience.

Average bed with average pillows. Bathrooms are a little tight. Average place to stay for a one night stop.

The room smelled and there was mildew in the shower.

I was in town for a court hearing in the morning and the people in the hall and next door were loud, sang and played a guitar. The same song poorly played and over and over. Until another guest started screaming, I called the desk and she said she would see to it. However about an hour later it started again and ran until three AM. If I was in town for a party it was fine however I was not. Great pet policy.

Enjoyed staying there for 5 nights. Staff was great.

Was unlucky enough to plan a weekend in Yakima during record heat wave (103-105). Thank heavens for a lovely, well maintained pool. Would've died for sure without it!

We were in for just a weekend to look at a med school in the area and if we have to go back we would stay there again. It was convenient to highways, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly.

It wasn't awful, but the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows worse. Other than that, there was nothing to recommend this hotel.

good place to stay, was clean and comfortable ,worked out real well and would stay there again

The rooms are large but the fixtures and furniture are getting old. There was a kitchenette in the room which would be nice if you are staying for a few days but the stove and cabinets are so old it’s laughable. It reminded me of visiting my grandmother’s house. While we did not cook any meals, I did play around with the kitchenette to see if it worked and everything appeared to be in working order despite its age. The location is good. It is just off Yakima Street and is walking distance to the shops and businesses in the small downtown area. We stayed during the Fresh Hop Festival and it was an easy walk to the festival grounds. The staff was friendly and helpful at check-in and check-out. The free breakfast that came with the room is probably best skipped. It wasn’t very good and the selection was odd; it wasn’t a full American breakfast but didn’t have the usual items for a continental breakfast, it was just a mish mash of random food.

Things good except for clunker elevator. In town for funeral. Better than other 2 stars in Yakima.

could be cool if the joint was updated. Need to put some money back into it and make it hip. They could have bands play on the pool island and have happy hour out by the pool. The sheets were kinda nasty and bed was a little bit too soft. Water came out of the facets hard and not even flow. sounds kinda picky, but it's details that make the place. Oh and the towels could be softer and bigger! :)
