Holiday Inn Express Dalian City Centre3.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is a typical Holiday Inn Express in China. If you have stayed in one of them, then this one should be just what you would expect. The room is small but comfortable. Bathroom is pretty clean. Breakfast is good quality and is included in the room rate. It has everything basic that you would need but that is about it. Location of the hotel is near city center so it was kind of crowded. If you prefer quiet open spaces you may want to consider hotels near Xinghai Square. My biggest problem with all Holiday Inn Express is the lack of control of AC. There is a thermostat in the room but it just circulates the air. My room was pretty hot in early May, but there is nothing I can do about it. If you are like me who likes cool night temperature to sleep, suggest you look somewhere else.
The hotel is decent enough considering the price you pay, its has basic amenities and the rooms are spacious, I stayed in the largest room available with a decent view. big downside, the breakfast was poor as was the house keeping, I had my room cleaned on 3 occasions and neither was satisfactory, the house keeping clearly does not pay much attention to the quality of work Biggest upside is the location, its pretty central for Dalian and only a throw stones away from Friendship square!
Just located in down town, in low traffic you manage to reach in 30 min. You have chance to walk out and experience Dalian city evening life. Hotel is down town with many choices for dinning. Express City offer basic with standard room and simple local breakfast
First impression walking into the room was that the hotel is quite old. The bathroom fixtures, the lights and the air conditioning system all seemed to be from a different era. The living room in my two-room corner suite(?) was extremely dark with only a small desk lamp that was not up to the task of illuminating the space. There were, however, some good points about this property. It is in a convenient location with many shops nearby. There is also a convenience store adjacent to the lobby. The best thing about the room was the extra firm mattress that allowed me to sleep soundly. Finally, compared to some of the other choices, the price was very reasonable.
Dear Trip Advisors, I generally choose Holiday Inn Hotels for my business trips in China and this is not the greatest I have stayed in. I arrived late in the evening and basically just slept and left the next morning. Below are some points and feedback: -Wifi was ok (still slow) and this seems to be common amongst Holiday Inn properties I have stayed in China (Shenyang Holiday Inn the night earlier also had very slow Wifi). -Breakfast was average but they try and put on a good spread of Western and Chinese options. They did have salads, different style of eggs (fried and hard boiled), Chinese Porridge and Stir fry dishes. The Chinese options are oily as usual. -Rooms are worn and tired. The closets really show that the fit and finish is on the cheap side. -Since it's a Holiday Inn Express the bathroom amenities were basic consisting of tooth brush and comb. -The showers lacked water pressure and parts of the shower were falling apart. Cheers, Eugene
From reception (Mohit) who is a friendly and welcoming for us and the security (Gradichen) who works in front door to help us to move our luggage to the end. The 2 rooms were fantastic and perfect nice view and wonderful breakfast. I recommend it to the tourists who like to staying near from heart city and sleeping safe.
Hotel is modern with all amenities. Rooms are modern and comfortable, and bathrooms clean. Breakfast had plenty of choices. Great place to stay. Some English speaking staff. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Standard Holiday Inn Express, which means you know exactly what you will get. I was somewhat unfortunate that when I was there, they happened to renovate the lift lobby of my floor, which sort of forced me to go for long walks around the hotel. Fortunately the Russian village is nearby.
Stay one night, regret forever! My horrible experience may become yours! What happened at Holiday Inn Express Dalian City Center makes me deeply shocked and disappointed at the management and hygiene condition of the hotel. The irritating experience happened as follows. When I was having breakfast in this hotel during my stay on NOV.22nd,2015, I disgorged a piece of human finger nail in the omelette ! It couldn't be more nauseating that I even chewed it carefully before I spit it out ! I complained to manager XU of the Food and Beverage Department at the hotel who promised a thorough investigation and would inform me the result and reason of this terrible fault before NOV.23rd,2015. But four month has passed, I am not getting any response from the hotel. On the website of IHG Company, I read the commitment as followed "Our vision is to become one of the great companies in the world by providing Great Hotels Guests superior service. We will deliver this through our portfolio of preferred brands, our talenteanyd people and best-in-class delivery systems. At the heart of our culture is a commitment to act responsibly in everything we do." But my unpleasant treatment, caused by your branch hotel's oblivious management, is a breach of your creed! What I encontered could be the same case to anyone else, so think carefully before you decide to stay here!
stays here for 2 nite. room was not that big and not that small. so it just good enough for two single bed, a single seater sofa, a writing table with chair and 2-3 pieces of you rbig luggage (if any). bathroom was a bit cramp with a door multi function as shower door or as a toilet door.breaky was good with not just local chinese breaky , it did serve american breakfast too.
