Rooms were clean, cosy and quiet. Staff - efficient. Meals (we had breakfast and one dinner) - passable.Location is perfect for a traveller as it is next to the bus and railway stations with numerous shops and places to eat within easy reach on foot. The price we paid was also reasonable.
Clean restaurant with free-parking a plenty. A fast and efficient check-in where we were offered an alternate (bigger) room due to my daughter's wheelchair. Very much appreciated. The room though was very cold and I needed to speak to reception to have an over-ride removed on the 24 setting. Why though is it then so noisy with a fan effectively blowing cold air? Madness. Time for a drink at the bar, but the beer was warm as the chiller wasn't working and again we sat in somewhat cold conditions due to the pair of sliding doors which seem to open constantly! We popped into town in the evening for dinner - a short walk with options a plenty. There isn't really an easy way to get out of the hotel's car park with the wheelchair so we were fortunate that the exit barrier was raised to avoid any limbo! We returned to a nice warm room and a quiet and comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was as to be expected in an HiEx but I did find the barriers up, quick removal of table condiments etc. (with no communication to the guests), dead on the 10am curfew a tad rude. As per title, the Good and the Bad of a Holiday Inn Express. It's a nice hotel in a nice location but there some issues that need a management review.
Clean, efficiently run small hotel within stones throw of Redditch town centre but very quiet.free Wi-fi ,parking and breakfast. The bar and lounge on ground-floor offer beers, lagers on draught and freshly cooked pub food. Breakfast can be busy around 9am so best avoid that time. A very pleasant stay.
As a Platinum member Im used to both a pleasant welcome and a good room when I visit IHG hotels. Both were in evidence at the Redditch Holiday Inn Express . I was told the room had been refurbished, and whilst it wasnt the biggest IHG room I ever stayed in ,it was indeed new looking and well equipped. Breakfast was very good and the only detail that stopped me scoring my stay full marks was the air conditioning. It was snowing when I arrived and very cold . It wasnt snowing in my room but it was still cold enough to get me under the duvet at 9pm . The air handling set to 24 degrees dished out no warmth whatsoever and sounded like a 1948 Morris 8 at full revs. Eventually I got to sleep and the building management system allowed me enough heat to survive the night. I of course mentioned the " unrefurbished " air con and my experience to the receptionist who sadly gave me that " I hear it every day and can do nothing about it " look. Shame
For a IHG holiday Inn express, their definitely isn't what you get. Check in was ok, apart from my credit card being charged again, even though I'd already paid in advance. The room my daughter was checked into wasn't even cleaned, despite asking for both rooms to be together, we had one on the ground floor and the other on the 2nd floor ( which was being renovated) I definitely won't be staying here again or recommending this hotel Please not as far as I am aware all rooms are twin beds, I don't think they have any double bed rooms
Lovely friendly staff, a clean hotel with recently refurbished rooms. The breakfast was plentiful and overall our stay was pleasant and great value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. A couple of negatives I should mention were the temperature in the hotel was chilly, especially the bathroom where there was no heating and it was a double bed, not the now fairly standard king size, even though there was ample room for a larger bed.
First impression was insufficient staff on reception. 2nd was the most awful smell in corridor permeating the room and the beer glasses lined up outside the rooms 3rd was the incompetence of giving someone else the key to the same room while I was in a state of half dress and my husband was sleeping . Aside from that it was ok. Relieved only to be staying one night ! I did report these things but had no apology from management.
Stayed here last week as near to meeting place. On arrival it looks clean and tidy. Staff very efficient. I needed to use an iron and board and had to go downstairs to fetch - thankfully before I decided to jump in the shower! The shower was a disappointment - not great power or temperature. Everything else was fine. One observation though was that the tv is set off to the right of the bed - ok if you were sat in the sofa however. We decided to ear in the restaurant. Unfortunately apparently the menu was in the process of being amended so several items we picked were unavailable. However the dishes I chose were fine although a large portion of apple crumble wasn't matched by enough custard. Restaurant staff were very pleasant though. Breakfast was good although no tomatoes with the cooked option. No indications on arrival as to where items were or whether it was all help yourself. Overall totally adequate for my needs for that night.
Friendly, helpful staff. The room was spacious, very clean and the bathroom was amazing!! Great breakfast was included. There is also a lovely shopping mall within 5mins walk of the hotel. Highly recommend and would stay again
This hotel was immaculate. Couldn't fault it. Staff really professional and friendly. Room was perfect and bed really comfy. Breakfast was great too. I was so surprised for how cheap it was. We were expecting Travelodge quality but it was 10 times better. WELL DONE
