Pretty much what you expect from a budget motel. Good sized clean room, if a little jaded. Main criticism was the bathroom, which was smelly due to a drain problem, and the mirror light didn’t work. Convenient if you are traveling northbound, but not if like me you are travelling southbound, go to the wrong services, and end up driving an extra 15 miles.
Hotels on major motorways are always quiet, warm, clean & welcoming. It is always possible to have a large relaxing bath.Tea and coffee in the room ensures a hassle free morning start.Recommend.
Travelling the length of England (Cornwall to Cumbria) after surgery we knew we'd need somewhere to break the journey. Temporarily on crutches and with a dog our choices were limited, but the Days Inn fitted the bill. The receptionist was super helpful. The dreadful (American) website had mixed up our easy access room, but she transferred us to a triple on the ground floor and helped carry our bags the extra distance. The hotel is cheap and at a motorway services, but it was clean (admittedly the bathroom could do with updating) comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. There's the usual tea and coffee facilities. There are enough trees and bushes to mask the M5 sound. We didn't fancy eating in a motorway services, so the receptionist directed us out of the service road and an eight minute drive to the Bluebell Inn which provided good pub food and a lively atmosphere. If you had time and choices you could probably get off the motorway and find somewhere better, but if you need to be there, want good and reliable - then the Days Inn is up to the job.
At check in tried to use roadchef walk in discount staff on duty said could not find any reference of app on system so could not use,but was offered 15% discount off normal rate but still worked out £5 dearer, have not had problem using app before probably not had full training on system, apart from this every thing else ok.
Basic but clean, decent shower, very comfy bedding and fairly spacious. TV with remote - fine for watching the news. No fridge or food facilities,al though basic stuff is next door in a Service Station Food Court, Burger Bars etc, and was an ideal stopover - it's a bit awkward getting back into Tewkesbury if you wanted a decent meal as the slip road only continues on the M5 North. Otherwise no complaints
The postcode for this hotel took us 15 miles out of our way. We finished up at a farm in the country. Instead of travelling south departing, we were on the wrong side of the motorway but were guided by the hotel staff onto the south carriageway of the M5 on a 7 mile detour.
As we were working at the Air Base on the services,It was the ideal place, the staff greeted us with a smile, I was pleased to meet the manager, as I had spoken to him earlier in the week, as when we first try to book the Hotel was fully booked, Room was good, and we had a great nights sleep
Although I didn't stay at the Hotel the staff need a mention, I'd managed to lock myself out of my car and was in desperate need to contact family, I was able to use the phone and Internet here whilst I waited for recovery. Didn't catch the lady's name but she was brilliant. Offered me cups of tea while I waited. Thanks again.
Friendly helpfull staff with excellent accommodation and easy access to north and south M5 with plenty of choice of services for all your needs and budgets highly recommend very pet friendly
The main bedroom was decent enough, and the beds were comfy and my son and I slept well. My issue with the accommodation was the bathroom which was in clear need of revamping. It looked and felt like it hadn't had any attention since it was first built. It was functional but you want a bathroom to look fresh to make you feel fresh. So come on Days Inn, revamp the accommodation (at least the bathrooms!)
