Americas Best Value Inn Sundowner Motel

This hotel was OK for a quick night, but you could hear people talking through the walls and I reserved one room for 3 guys and they said they would provide an extra bed. When we arrived, the staff was not aware of this and said the extra mattresses were all being used. They eventually found a roll up mattress to put on the floor, but there's not much room for it and it's not very comfortable.

The room was clean bed was comfortable but a little pricey for what it was

Room was very clean and reasonably updated given the market segment. Unfortunately, you can hear EVERY noise made in the place - people tromping on the stairs, doors banging closed throughout the building. Even with ear plugs it was difficult to have a peaceful night. Host was brusque, but we had been warned via other reviews. No big deal. Just a transaction - this isn't a B&B. Motel has two unconnected buildings, so if you're planning on going to the pool area, plan on crossing the parking lot if you're in the 2nd building. Since the main goal of a motel in this price range is being able to sleep at a reasonable price . . . and it was too noisy (even with earplugs) to sleep well . . . I would look elsewhere unless prices are your deciding factor.

This hotel has a big sign with "Sundowner Motel" and a sign with American Best Value Inn so small, it's hardly visible. Also, not well known, asked several merchants and didn't know where it was, otherwise it was very adequate.

The room was roomy, clean, older but updated and everything worked as expected. Nice large vanity area. Good water pressure and sufficient outlets for recharging devices. Notice: large sign in front says Sundowner Motel, with a tiny sign saying Americas Best Value (easy to miss.). The Internet speed was poor and they still use old-fashioned keys. One of the poorest continental breakfasts I've ever seen so don't count on breakfast! Lots of restaurants around.

This place looks very little like the picture hosted above. The hotel was good, but they had an early check-out time (10am). Overall it was a good experience, but a little difficult to find initially. The Rocky Mountains are decently accessible from the hotel, and there are some terrific restaurants about 400 feet down the street on the opposite side of US-40.

Considering the price, this is a good value. The location is right next to shops and restaurants and on the shuttle line to the ski lifts. The room was a good enough size and clean. The pool/hottub is pretty small/basic but the kids had fun there. The "breakfast" is just packaged pastries and coffee.

Just need a place to sleep while hiking around rocky mountain national park the the surrounding areas as it was too cold to camp. Comfy bed, clean shower, fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker, I was set. Happy with my two day stay.

Beds - terrible. They haven't been turned in 20 years. It's so bad that your feet are elevated! Bathroom - terrible. I wouldn't let my son take a bath. Pool/hot tub - disgusting. Need I say more?

It was an average place to stay, but overall it was not bad for the price.

America's Best Value Inn (also called The Sundowner# is in a prime location in the center of the town of Winter Park. It's within walking distance to all the shops and many good restaurants. As for the room, it was ordinary, but clean and comfortable. It had cable, a fridge, micowave, hair dryer and coffeemaker. The owners also provide free coffee and cocoa in the check-in area, as well as packaged Danish and crumb cakes #it's not breakfast by any means, but more a snack). The indoor pool was tiny, but the hot tub looked inviting. It seems pricey for the size, but I understand that ski resort hotel rooms cost more than the average rooms.

Good service, clean rooms, and a great location in downtown Winter Park!

My biggest complaint about this Motel (not Inn, or hotel), is the bed. I managed to fall asleep at about 11:30pm, and woke up at about 2am. I was unable to fall back asleep but continued to rest without sleep until about 8am (I normally sleep soundly until 9am when I go to sleep at that time). The bed was extremely uncomfortable and there were lots of noises throughout the room as I tried to fall back asleep. Other that the bed, I would say this Motel is adequately priced, but I would not think of returning without upgraded beds.

We arrived Saturday morning for the Blues from the Top festival and did not move our car until we checked out on Monday. Very centrally located, shopping, dining and entertainment all within a short walk. Perfect location for a great weekend.

The rooms were very clean!!! The manager was very nice and let us see the room before we paid. It was located in the middle of all the activities in Winter Park and Grand Lake. We were up to Grand Lake within an half and hour. The pool has strong chlorine smell!! We had to open the door and window--almost over powering! That was the only negative.

The motel was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the fridge and microwave were a nice perk. There aren't that many places to stay in the downtown Winter Park area, so we were pleased that this motel was a nice deal for the price. The room size and amenities were comparable to mountain town hotel rooms that cost $20-30 more a night.

The hotel accomodations were fine, clean, friendly. The pool water was a little too cold, great hot tub. We were in Winter Park for just 2 days prices were just what we were looking for. Very convenient location to everything.

Hotal was clean and close to activaties

Definitely recommend this motel. I was uneasy even as we drove into Winter Park as I have never booked online before. We stayed 1 night with our 11 month old and it was a nice, clean place. Non smoking room was really non smoking and it was quiet. Can't comment on the pool or the location as we were just passing through, though there were restaurants close. Wouldn't have minded staying several nights if our final destination had been Winter Park. Breakfast is just packaged muffins. Overall, it was a very good room at a very inexpensive price. If we're back in the area we'll be staying here again.

We were hiking near Monarch Lake. Still lot of snow. Very beautiful nature. A bit far from Winter Park.
