spent New Year in the Restaurant of the White Hart and I cannot speak to highly of the excellent time that we had From the very moment we arrived the service was very good Starting with the restaurant which was decorated beautifully the dinner was delicious the entertainment great All four of us had a very enjoyable evening Thank You White Hart
Everything as expected.A warm welcome, good service and a very good breakfast. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. A very well located hotel with secure car parking,a short walk from the lovely historic City Centre. We will return
My colleague and I were very pleased with the accommodation - comfortable, reasonably quiet, very kind and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. Good range of food, and cooked to order on one morning. Walking distance to everything in Salisbury.
We stayed here for a couple of days when our daughter delivered her baby boy. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is the best I’ve eaten in a hotel for a long time. Fresh and very tasty. Salisbury itself is a great place to visit and the hotel is well placed for town shopping and the cathedral.
Good value for money , 3 Course Dinner , with coffee and a selection of sweets / biscuits and mini mince pies. Disco with excellent DJ that played all requests , all for under £40 each . Excellent service from all staff , even got extra roast potatos when asked for. . A very enjoyable night with good friends. Thank you to all the hotel staff.
It must be difficult to maintain a large city centre hotel, that was obviously very grand in its day, but now needs to be kept modern and relevant. A challenge that I am sure many hotels face and a challenge that the White Hart has been successful with. We had a 3 night break to visit the city for the first time and see the Christmas market, the on site parking was good value and most welcome. Knowing that there would be Christmas parties in I had asked for a room as far away from the function rooms as possible and this was delivered. Which I was very grateful for as the party goers were having a really good noisey time in the function rooms, but up in the room we were not disturbed at all. There were a few areas where the hotel showed its age, a few bare patches in the carpets, but generally everything was fine. One call out.. Katrina on reception was a delight, she welcomed us when we first arrived, made sure we had everything we needed, talked us through a map of the city so that would find everything. On the last day she was efficient with the check out and fixed a small issue with the bill with no fuss. Well done Katrina.
We have stayed in the hotel ( pre Christmas visit ) for the ladt 10 years. Initially it was a visit back in time to a quality British hotel with standards. Now if you are not part of one of their parties Dont come !!! We arrived on the weekend to be told we couldn't eat hear .... and had to try and find somewhere else to eat on one of the busiest weekends of the year. The public area's which ( in the past ) were lovely to sit in , were taken over by more tables and chairs for " Party nights" - we were asked to move. !!! The bar was closed off for more " Private Party nights " so you either go elsewhere or your room !!. If you ( as we did ) Go to breakfast after 9am be prepared to queue or be placed in a bar corner out of the way. !!! It's a wonder more tables and chairs were not placed on the stairs and landing !!!. So not good having paid £400 for 3 nights .. to be confined to your room or go elsewhere. So the end of an era for us - the greed / exploration of the Christmas period to " max the cash " drives away repeat business. Very disappointed.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel, we had an executive room and we very impressed with the facilities especially the comfy four poster bed. The Hotel was ideal for visiting Salisbury and were able to take a short stroll to all points of interest. We added breakfast to our stay and that was very good with plenty of choice. If we stay in the area again this would definitely be my first choice hotel.
We spent a pleasant three night stay at this comfortable central hotel. You can’t miss the grand old facade of this wonderful old building. The large car park to the rear of the building is a bonus at £6.50 a day. Busy in December and clearly popular with Christmas parties, the restaurant provides good quality no nonsense fare. The breakfast offers a buffet with great range and good quality, attended by staff who are keen to help. The floors upstairs are a bit uneven and squeak in places, which all adds character and is exactly what you expect in an historical city like Salisbury. The bedroom was well proportioned and the bed comfortable. All the facilities that you would expect in a hotel bedroom and ensure at this level make this a great choice for business or leisure.
In the heart of Salisbury I’ve been to this hotel a few times over the years. It’s a bit faded but nothing to complain about. Staff are great breakfast is good be it the bar is a little expensive. If I was in the area I would always look to come here first. It has decent Wi-fi too and a comfy bed
