We stayed here en route from Plymouth to Cambridge to break the journey up. Car parking not on site so not ideal, check in was easy. Room so hot air con not working!! Fan in room blew around warm air! Family room with 2nd bed made room tiny. Breakfast in the morning was good, fair choice & plenty of it.

Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Swindon. Bode the manager and John on reception were extremely helpful, and funny instantly felt at ease made me feel they were approachable. Room was a decent size, towels huge and soft. Bedding very clean as was the room. Cleaning service everday. Breakfast was fine hot food stayed hot but as a vegetarian hot selection was for me limited, it consisted of beans and toast. If that's a negative it's my only one. They had cereals, pastries etc (which I don't eat either lol). I would certainly return to this hotel in a heartbeat. Centrally located to the train station and excellent shopping centre. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel.

Probably the most inconvenient hotel I have ever stayed in my life. The car park is a long walk away and you need to phone them to get directions to the car park and then you need to call up and register to pay for the parking....what a hassle before you even get to the hotel. You need to go in a lift to even get to the lobby to check in and the breakfast area is small, jam packed and roasting hot I was sweating trying to get a bowl of corn flakes! Also no aircon.

I've stayed in this hotel several times before but it has really gone down hill in terms of the decor, general maintenance and cleanliness. The room was generally grubby, the sofa and cushions had unpleasant stains on them. There were dark hairs on the mattress protector. There were sweets, left over on a shelf from the last resident so unsure if the room was cleaned properly. The pillows smelled old and unpleasant. I would imagine that this hotel caters mostly for business customers and as such should have a reasonable iron and ironing board. There is one ironing board on the top floor and it was in such bad shape that I had to hold it up and iron with the other hand. Hopeless. For a room that cost nearly £150 this was unacceptable. On a positive note, I found all the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with lots of choice.

Stayed at this hotel for one night which is in Swindon City Centre, the town does leave much to be desired so wouldn’t want to venture out at night, viewing the town in daylight is bad enough but much the same could be said for most English towns & cities these days. Whilst the entrance to this hotel is a little unconventional as reception is on the first floor and the lifts where you enter don’t seem particularly secure we found the staff at reception to be helpful and accommodating. When we had a problem at check in it was satisfactorily quickly resolved by Ulrich without fuss so kudos to him for that. Sarah on reception was also very pleasant. The room was small but spotlessly clean as was the bathroom although on the small side as well and both shower gel dispensers were empty which was not apparent until you had got in the shower but that was a minor inconvenience. We can understand some of the comments about security at this hotel but you do need your room key to work the lifts to the room floors from reception and we didn’t feel particularly unsafe. Breakfast was included and we had no complaints about the breakfast at all, it was slightly above the usual Holiday Inn Express fare, hot items such as eggs, bacon, sausages, beans were available as well as cereal, fruit, muffins, pastries, toast, orange juice, tea and coffee from a machine and everything we sampled was fresh. They even provided brown paper bags if you wanted to eat on the go which was a nice touch. The china and cutlery was very clean and the staff on duty accommodating. The breakfast room was bright and clean. Bedlinen was clean and bed comfortable. Our room was on a higher floor on the same side as the entrance but there was what appeared to be a bottle bank in the immediate vicinity so it was pretty noisy from early in the morning. This is clearly a budget hotel but for the price paid we had a clean and adequate room albeit quite small but perfectly acceptable and the breakfast included was good value. Parking is a problem, the hotel site does say parking is available at an additional £6 but fails to mention until you arrive that there is no parking on site (at least it was not mentioned on the Holiday Inn website at the time we booked). There is just a small car space at the entrance restricted to unloading bags only. The parking available mentioned on the website is actually across the road at the railway station car park and judging by some of the sketchy characters milling about we would be reluctant to leave our car there and wouldn’t recommend anyone to do so. The staff who dealt with us during our stay, Ulrich, Sarah (think that was her name) and John were really helpful and seem to obviously strive to give good customer service so that was another plus. A special shout out to John who was particularly helpful especially when having arrived home we realised we had not been given a copy of the bill upon departure and having rang John he emailed it almost immediately and was so nice to deal with. This was basic clean accommodation for a reasonably decent price.

This hotel is in a part of Swindon which felt unsafe to me as a single female traveller. I wasn't comfortable walking to or from the front entance in the evening. The hotel itself was poor. No air conditioning, a poor menu, the toilet smelled of urine and the picture in the bedroom was sagging inside the frame. Very disappointing.

Desk employee at hotel was not that very friendly. Hotel was booked in advance. After some payment issue staff member was little frustrated. Breakfast is not that much choice. Room very standard, no power outlet next to bed. The lifts are very slow, you gonna have to wait.

Stayed here recently. Arrived at same time as a coach. Not good. The lifts are always full. The room was ok but there is no air con. Fans are in room but circulation of warm air is pointless when windows only open an inch. Breakfast wasn't great either. It is included in price but it's poor quality. It's cheap but I do think aircon should be in rooms, rooms have vents but aircon is removed.

Finding the hotel/Parking First of all the entrance to the hotel is a little door up a side road which was actually quite difficult to find, especially when a large coach was parked outside. When you actually find the hotel you will be greeted by a sign on the wall which says parking is over in the train station opposite which wasn't made clear when booking. We believed parking was £6 a night as stated online, however, we had to pay £7.70 on the Friday night and then £5 on the weekend. It wasn't until we checked in that we were handed an A4 sheet which said that you can ring up a number to get the parking cheaper. Overall decoration of hotel When you first walk into the hotel it looks very nice and modern but don't be fooled; as soon as you go up to the next level for reception and past this point the hotel is very dated. Room Our room was very dusty, there was body hair in the shower & on the floor, there was a big hole in the door which looks like someone has tried to bash it in, stains on the carpet, holes in the wall, the big lampshade was filthy and needed to be binned and room service forgot to turn up Breakfast This was nice, not much choice in the way of hot food, the English breakfast is a choice of scrambled egg, beans, bacon and sausage. You can have cereal, toast, fruit and a few other bits as well as Juice and a nice coffee from the machine Staff Reception staff could have been happier, however, the staff at breakfast were polite There was also no air con so the hotel is very hot. we kept going outside for a bit of fresh air If staying here I would check that you're happy with your room first, however, we won't be staying back here....

We stayed here for two nights as a group booking. All staff went out of their way, rooms decent size & comfy bed. No AC was working so we roasted a bit in the summer heat & showers were cold which was a big no no ... Parking is challenging but then this is the city centre.
