While the hotel was convenient to the attractions we planned on visiting, the room itself was below average for the price you pay. The bathroom was clean, but the placement of the coffee pot in the bathroom is highly unsanitary. There were no safety strips on the tube which resulted in a fall in the tub. The management seemed to take this in their stride. The refrigerator was dirty and rusted on the outside, the tray was broken in the inside and several of the lightbulbs in the room did not work. I would not stay here again.

We stayed for the night before camping the weekend at Freeman Park. It was what we paid for a short cab ride to Wrightsville Beach bars. We would stay here again!

Old but clean. Heavier bed ware needed. Quiet and comfortable.

The room was nice. But nothing fantastic. They did not replace towels when they exchanged them.Outlet covers were broken.Bed was alittle on the high side for us.The he room was clean and comfortable.

My experience at this hotel wasn't a bad one, but it wasn't great either. You could tell the building was rather dated, but the room was relatively clean.

This is the same hotel me and my girlfriend stay at every time we visit Wilmington. We like the location and feel the room is affordably priced. Anytime we ever had an issue, they took care of it for us.

As I entered my room there was a certain funky smell that did not go away for the whole time we were there, some how we were about to stand it. We brought some food with us and the fridge did not work, maybe cause all of the stuff there except for the tv has been there since the 80's. We rented a queen sized bed and received a full, the couch in the room has holes and the springs were coming through. I understood that I was getting a bargain so I can expect more for the price but I should have paid 10$ more a night at Howard Johnson and I would have been a lot happier. I guess lesson learned.

I would definately stay here again, friendly service and clean rooms

Our 2 night experience/getaway to the beach at this place was unpleasant. When we opened the door to our room, the heat and the smell took our breath away. The smell was very unhygienic and we don't know if it came from the carpet, bedding, or furniture(probably a combo of everything). The chairs in the room were disgusting. They looked like items tossed out with the garbage left on the curb side. The bath tub mat had a lot of mold/mildew on it. We noticed stains on the comforter and mattress when we pulled back the covers. Thank God I brought my own linen because I wouldn't have been able to get the little sleep I did get without it. On the last night, I saw s roach scurry across the bathroom floor. Needless to say, we will never stay here again. Just by writing this review made my skin itch.

Our two night experience here was not pleasant. When we opened the door to our room, the heat and the smell took our breath away. The smell was very unhygienic; not sure if it was coming from the carpet or the furniture but it gave me the heeby jeebies. We pulled back the comforter & sheets to find stains on the mattress and comforter. Thank God I brought my own linen or I wouldn't have been able to get the little sleep I did get. We didn't see any bedbugs, so that was a positive. The chairs were disgusting; they looked like something tossed out with the garbage left on the side of the curb. The bath tub mat had mold/mildew on it. There was a roach crawling on the bathroom floor on our last night. Won't stay here again.

My family and I picked this hotel for a weekend getaway to the beach. When we opened the door to our room, the heat and the smell took our breaths away. There were stains on the comforter and mattresses. We didn't see any bedbugs and that's one positive. It showed that housekeeping does their best in trying to keep the place clean but the room really had a unhygienic smell to it. We saw a roach crawling on the bathroom floor and there was mold/mildew on the bathtub mat. They also need to get new furniture. The two chairs they had in the room, no one would take for free had they been left for trash on the side of the road. They were just disgusting! I have learned from this experience and will never stay at this place again. You will have to pay more for quality.

We got in late after packing up our daughter who was moving out of an apartment. The guy at the front desk was courteous. The room was clean, beds comfortable, had a fridge & microwave. Definitely a good spot to stay for the night.

Only slept there at night. Very smoky...No elevators...very dirty carpets......however sheets were clean...shower was hot....breakfast was terrible

We just needed a place to crash for the night. Good location, just a drive away from Wrightsville Beach, $8 cab downtown. Mike at the front desk was awesome and arranged a taxi and even let us knew when it had arrived. Room isn't amazing, but you get what you pay for.

I would never stay here again. The carpets were dirty and smelled musty. There was black mold growing in the grout of the shower. The sheets andtowels were dingy grey and smelled. I requested a non smoking room andthe entire hall outside my room smelled of smoke. The microwave didn't work; soda machine was out of order. The desk clerk said "for security I should park my vehicle directly in front of the front doors." there were guys that looked like homeless vagrants hanging around on the side of the hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

The refrigerator in the room was not working, and staff were clearly aware of this when they gave us the room. They did give us another fridge when we requested one. Then the tub did not drain after showering. At that point we requested another room. Granted checkout is at 11am, at 2:30 pm the day before our original checkout date, we got a change in our plans and requested a refund of the one day. They denied the request, so we paid for a day with only a 3 hr stay.

My wife and I were on a weekend getaway and wanted to stay somewhere that was close to downtown Wilmington, and inexpensive. Well we found both at this hotel, only 2.5 miles from dowtown and priced right. The room was clean, bathroom receently renovated, but the pillows were less than desirable. Overall, I would stay here again while in Wilmington.

The service was amazing and so was the breakfast. I was visiting and it was so peaceful and tranquil.

My room was practically spotless and cozy - perfect for a short trip for the solo traveller. I appreciated the safe, refrigerator, and microwave in the room but wish smaller amenities were available such as computer workstation or even complimentary toiletries (for those traveling with airline carry-ons who cannot bring along a disposable razor). All staff were very friendly, and the continental breakfast was impressively varied: cereal and biscuits with gravy? Nice! Two definites: me recommending this hotel to others and me staying here again.

This hotel was clean (no bugs) and the bed was quite comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
