The hotel is kind of right next to interstate 95. This is both good and bad. The good part is convenience for a pit stop if you are on the road. The bad part is the noise, especially if you get a room near the corner of the lot, which is the closest to the highway. Cars going 80+ miles nearby at night could be very annoying if you are a light sleeper. The two-level suites are humongous. You will have to see it yourself to believe. Otherwise, everything else just look like a typical Residence Inn.
This à a typical older residence inn design where units are stacked on two floors and ground upper unit is usually larger with a loft. This time, we have lower level studio unit with two beds and sofa bed. Check in is located at centre of the ground but units are all spread out. I would recommend families with kids request inner units that their cars are not directly parked on street and instead of walking through parking lot, it's safer to walk through garden and yards. ( our unit was on the outside and we had to park on street and kids need to cross the busy parking lot in front of the center, not ideal) Bed and pillows were great! Interiors have been remodelés but windows seem old and ours had some mold on it if you pay attention. Kitchen has all the essentials but I think they are skinning down the supplies such as dish washing detergent and wipes. Center looks out the outdoor pool and a pond with an artificial fountain. Good to relax during breakfast and meals. Overall good stay. Residence inn offers snack and dinner meal on Tuesdays to Thursdays which is really great. Alcoholic beverages included!
We have stayed at this property a number of times to visit our daughter at the University of Delaware. While the rooms are spacious and nicely appointed, we have had to request different rooms more than once because of rooms smelling like smoke (which has been attempted to be covered up with cleaner.) Also, on more than one occasion w could constantly hear people in the room above us - our most recent visit it sounded like a herd of elephants was stomping around on the floor all night. It seems that rooms are often booked with large parties, also then hanging around outside smoking and drinking; again, we have seen this on more than one occasion. Staff has been very courteous, but not sure we would come back here again.
My family and I stayed here for a couple months while waiting to move into our new house. The staff at Residence Inn really made us feel at home. Everyone was very friendly and personable, and treated us like family. The breakfast buffet is amazing, with lots of tasty choices. The evening events with food at the beginning of each week were really fun and a great way to bring guests together. We made a few friends that we keep in touch with :) The grounds are very nicely maintained, as is the pool - it is cleaned every day and is always spotless. Also, a huge perk for us was that it was pet friendly. Overall, this Residence Inn was a great place to stay for our family during a transition period. I would highly recommend it :)
There are pluses and minuses to this hotel. Pluses are..close to interstate..on off access. Off the main road in a business Park so the hotel is quiet.. plenty of restaurant options within 10 minutes of hotel....free Continental breakfast..decent sized outdoor pool. Minuses... extremely small bathroom. Toilet is literally inches from the shower. Rooms are old and living areas are small. If you're on the first floor you have to keep the curtains closed all the time because people walk by frequently. Parking lot is only a few feet from the rooms on the first level.
Clean. Spacious rooms. 2 TVsand remotes were operational.Great customer service. Friendly front desk people.Free Breakfast buffer. Atleast was fresh. Eggs , waffles yogurt coffee etc.,The usual Marriott experience of like business casual type of thing .
This in offers all you need for a weekend or week especially if you are on work assignment. The place is clean and offers something for everyone even children. Just be careful to look at your card statement.
We spent one night here on our way from ME to Virginia. Location was convenient to highway with plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly, our room was clean and breakfast was good. We didn't use the pool because of the weather but it looked clean and was good-sized. The hotel overall gets an average rating from me due to the layout of the property. It seems like an apartment complex that was made over into a hotel. As a result, each room is its own unit. Our first floor unit was right on the walkway so we had to keep blinds closed for privacy. Though nothing happened to make me feel unsafe it felt less secure than other Marriott properties due to the layout. It also appeared some units may still be apartments, though I suppose they could simply be long-term hotel guests. It was fine for a quick overnight but I wouldn't choose this hotel as a base for a longer stay.
This location was a bit tricky to find, but we were very happy after we did locate it. Our unit was near the pool and main office where breakfast was served. The outdoor pool was very nice. Our unit was quiet and spacious. We both slept very well.
I read the reviews from others that said this property was older and others had hot water problems, but decided to give it a try since the price was pretty good and we needed the space for three of us over several days. When we checked in we noticed mouse droppings under the sink where the garbage can was. They appeared to be old so i just cleaned them out and took the garbage can out. No big deal for a ground floor room. The room is older and the mattresses were soft, but again not bad for the price of the room. The hot breakfast was average. The disappointing part of the stay is the high speed wifi is not high speed and it constantly disconnected causing issues. I paid the extra five dollars a night and still had the same issues. I shouldn't have to log in every time i need to use a device. The other disappointing aspect is the cold showers we all had to take. Even my sister-in-law who was staying in another part of the complex complained to me of a cold shower. For these last two reasons i rate this place poor instead of average. The place really needs to do something about the hot water. Also, I-95 is very close so road noise is constant but after the first night it becomes white noise. Some positives: Polite, friendly staff; location is good with Christiana Mall nearby with good restaurants and Target for shopping. Fitness facility is very small but serviceable with 2 treadmills, a recumbent bike, an elliptical and some dumbbells.
