TV did not work, sink had hair in it...and was not cleaned for 3 days, bathroom never cleaned - dirty, gross, mildew, hair, soap scum...roaches in room, bed not made after first night, breakfast was leftovers and stayed out throughout the day, stale cereal, not enough plates and bowls, bathroom in lobby broken - no way to wash hands. I cleaned the bathroom and sink before I used it. Total lack of customer service. I want a refund. Talk to manager, he left a note after he came and witnessed the room.

The staff has lost touch with reality they see invisible animals, and stole $60 from my daughter and myself. I will never stay in another Howard Johnson due to the incredibly poor experience I had at this hotel.

The room was sufficiently comfortable not much in thrills. Bathroom needed a little updating, small hole in bathroom door and tub was really bad shape. But they are in renovating stage it appears. Fairly close to everything downtown (drivable). Staff was pleasant. Like it says you get what you pay for.

Great location. Close to downtown Wilmington and the beach. When we checked in everything was good but our room had no service for wifi, the morning we woke up for breakfast and it was not breakfast due to renovation but no one told us about it so it was a bad surprise. I left the hotel pretty upset as we didn't get any compensation for the lack of wifi and breakfast even though we paid for it.

When we arrival to the hotel the lady in the lobby ask me for more money for my reservation, was 203 for 2 rooms and she said is 242 when I explain her about she have actitud and said ok i let my manager knows about it. The rooms was so dirty and small so bad the bed linen was dirty and the restrooms dirtys to. That was a horrible time in this hotel and the breakfast terrible cafe was tasty just like water no good orange juice or cereales.. I don't recommended no body to stay in this hotel

I had a reservation for 3 adults 1 night. The website advertises the room as "Can fit up to 5 people", which means there are two double beds for four people, plus a couch of some kind of accommodation for the 5th person. Since we were three male adults, we were counting on two beds and a couch, or a pull over bed or something. At check in, the manager said they cannot give us a pull over bed because house keeping leaves at 5PM, and it was 7PM, so nothing he can do and that it was our responsibility to call before 5PM. HOW would we know to call before 5PM. Very rude staff. And the whole place smells like 200 cats peed there at the same time. We asked for a refund since we refused to share a small double bed, and that they were advertising a room that did not accommodate what they said it did. But they still charged us a $20 cancellation fee. I will be filing a report with my credit card company, the better business bureau, and every review board on the internet.

Great location. Quiet. Felt dirty, old, out of date. Thankfully it had decent tv, refrigerator and microwave. If they would freshen the rooms it could be a cute place to stay. Surprised Howard Johnsons name is on it as below their standard.

I got this room in February so it was cold. The heater wad comfortable. I was dissapointed with the WiFi. Weak signal. Took forever. This was not worth the 50 dollars I spent but was cheapest in town. 5 years ago this would be a 30 dollar motel room.

Staff was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed have the refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. That was one of the reason I stayed there. Good value. The hotel was in good location for me to visit people and get down town.

It was fairly cheap, but it was a little dirty. breakfast was sub-par. But I did sleep well, so it's ok.

The room was simple but clean. This is an old motel, but the staff was friendly and helpful. It was convenient to UNCW where I needed to be, and I didn't have to pay as much as other places.

The "motel" is very old and ugly, looks cheap. Nothing like the pictures on the website, which were probably taken when the motel was new (a couple of decades ago). The "breakfast" was a disaster. The bed covers were dirty (or stained). The place did not look nor smelled clean. The carpets have not been vacuumed in a while. There was hair on the shower. Paid 2 nights, but only stayed 1 night... Will not recommended...You can find nicer places for the same price.

My stay was average to less than avg. Even after requesting Non-smoking room, I checked in to a fairly vacant motel complex, only to be greeted by a cloud of stink/smoke upon opening room. I called front desk, and nite clerk appeared argumentative about being in a "smoking room", as this was a "Non-smoking" room. I could understand that perhaps last guest didn't obey "non-smoking" policy, but to have clerk argue?? At any rate, he did switch us to adjacent room later that eve. (A no brainer, given that there was vacancy galore? I only saw one other room being occupied during stay) Also, Ck In clerk wanted to charge for extra person even though there was no availability to extra cot/bed. (for my military son) until the next day, as "personnel was not avail to get bed..." Really? W/no one but one more room being used, he couldn't have gotten his butt out to get it himself? He appeared to be a self serving bleep. ! The next few nites, the clerk (She) was far more friendly, and receptive to requests (fresh towels, etc) unlike the first one. (Pakistani/Indian male?) The manager also appear to be more receptive, and friendly at checkout. And appeared to be thankful that I'd mentioned the "smoke" debacle? The couple that went around cleaning rooms were nice, but couldn't communicate all that well? Or perhaps playing dumb? Jury still out on that one.... Only reason I'd recommend this Hotel/Motel, is for the central location, and for the fact that the Mgr did convey that there are long term cheaper rates.

The lady at the front desk who checked me in was the rudest I have ever encountered during travelling. She would not even acknowledge my questions and rolled her eyes when I asked about the area and the drive to the airport. DO NOT STAY HERE!

dirty and broken

no breakfast and wifi even though we paid for it

Great location. Close to downtown Wilmington and the beach.
