Travelodge Williamsburg Colonial Area

I had a business trip to Yorktown Va but all the hotels there were 55 to 90 per night. This was a much better price and it was clean quiet and grocery store and laundromat 5 min drive away. Exterior of hotel appears a little dated but rooms were clean and did NOT have that "some idiot smoked here and we tried to cover it up with carpet cleaner smell". This is a great bargain for the money.

Hotel was very tired. Stains on the carpets and a bad stain on the chair. The safe in the room was not operable. No facial tissues - asked for some at the desk but they were never delivered. The free breakfast consisted of a total of five mini muffins, 2 overripe bananas, raisin bran or frosted flakes. There were five pieces of bread for toast. The hotel is badly in need of renovation.

This is a no-frills motel. It is a bit away from the main area of Williamsburg (Richmond Road) and from the Colonial area. However, given that you have to drive everywhere anyway, that really doesn't matter. And with the money you save here, you can spend more at teh many opportunities available in the general area. I was visiting family, not making use of the historic attractions, so I was happy to be where I was. I would have liked an indoor pool, but again, saving money was a big factor.

Very good, with clean bathrooms and very comfortable beds

We found the hotel room clean and quiet, with a working shower and airconditioner. In addition, it had a microwave, small refrigerator, iron/ironing board and covered parking. For the price, it was quite satisfactory.

The room was adequate and the pool was clean. The clock radio did not work. The "free" breakfast was nothing to write home about. We actually opted leave the hotel and go buy something instead. There was only one ice machine for the entire hotel.

room was ok, bed very uncomfortable and they did not change the bed linens were not the cleanest. had several spiders in the room and had to ask for toilet paper when we ran out. for the money we paid for the room we have had better at other hotels for the same price. probably won't ever go there again.

We went to Busch Garden and water country USA, so we just need a place to sleep, Travelodge was the one, we had no issues, quite, no noise, room was ready, crib was provided by them, I am happy for the deal I got.

First let me say I got this room for less than $30 a night. Spent a lot of money for symposium at Colonial Williamsburg so had to cut back on motel. I knew I wouldn't be spending much time at hotel. The room was picked up and "cleaned" but that included stains in carpet. Didn't smell that great even though it's now a smoke-free room I suspect it used to not be that way. Some light switches and heat switches were in need of repair but I did get them all to work eventually. Forget about the internet access. There's no easy website to use to connect and the people at the front desk have no idea how to help you. Another reviewer had same comment. Now the good things. It is in a nice, safe location really close to Colonial Williamsburg. The bathroom was pretty clean. The room had a microwave and frig so you can save a lot on money bringing in your own food. I did not eat at any restaurants at all on this trip. Oh, one bad thing. The worst breakfast offering I've ever had so if that's important to you, you won't be pleased. We were offered both days: white bread to toast, small, store bought banana muffins, choice of two cold cereals. The coffee's not worth drinking. I believe there was two juices to choose from. The bed was kind of hard but survivable - I don't think I've ever had a comfy hotel bed. I did bring my own linens just in case. My room had two double beds and I was alone. The bed I did not sleep in had a broken leg so was unusable. Even though I've said some negative things about this hotel and I believe it has much room for improvement, remember I said I got the room for about $28/night. I actually would use this hotel again if I am on a tight budget. Again, best feature is safe location, easy to find, and convenient to Colonial Williamsburg.

the staff was very nice. the beds are hard and stiff did not get any sleep the breakfast there was no choice I put my purse on the table in the room and it was sticky

We went to Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg Winery, the Pottery. The Pottery was very disapointing as it was very run down. We didn't find out until Monday that Busch Gardens was only open on weekends. We had wonderful weather and went to restaurants with excellent food. We used coupons provided in the guide books. That helped with expenses. We had a great time and every place we went to was within 2 to 5 miles away.

We went to Williamsburge to visit our son. The hotel was located 5 min. from his apartment. It is also closely located to Bush Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. The parking garage is located under the hotel which was convenient. It is an older hotel but is still in good repair. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Not a fancy place but quite comfortable. We spent 3 days there. The pool looked inviting but we did not have time to try it out. The cost of the hotel was a very good value considering we were there during summer vaction time.

Room lights did not work! Not remote for TV. Hair dryer did not work! Shower curtain had mold on the bottom edge! All we did was sleep and shower there! Breakfast offering was poor, so we ate at the local Pancake House!

It was dirty and not comfortable. The beds are hard and the pillows thin. It didn't appear that the bathroom had been cleaned from the last guest. The breakfast was minimal and not very good.

We got a great price. It was close to Colonial Williamsburg entrance down a street that was less traveled. That is where the "good stuff" ends. No ice in ice machines (our floor's was broken) in 100 degree weather. Claimed wireless internet access did not work in our room, which was not that far from the office. The sink never was cleaned completely in the three days we stayed. They only gave us one hand towel. "Free breakfast" was essentially gone by 8:45, except for white bread to toast. You get what you pay for. It was quiet, the beds were comfortable. Basically, we got that for our rate.

We were only spending one day/night at Travelodge and it was pretty good for our needs. It wasn't the fanciest hotel I've ever stayed at, and the rooms weren't huge, but it was clean and everything we needed was provided. The family that owns/runs the hotel is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location: located right down the road from colonial Williamsburg and right across from the main drag. Only a 5 minute drive to many restaurants and the Prime Outlets. We really enjoyed our stay!

The room was adequate for what we wanted it for, a bed and shower. Had to ask for extra pillows and had no hot water for showers in the morning.

Sleep

There was no TV remote and we lost electricity twice! The towels were as hard as concrete and we found a joint roach on the ground next to the bed!

Well located for travel to colonial part as well as commercial part of Willimsburg. Easy access to restaurants.
