We are Bluegreen owners and booked this using bonus time. Stayed two nights with 4 kids. They love the pool, the slide and splash zone for the little ones. Our room was ready when we arrived, it was very clean and spacious for the 6 of us. The pull out couch was one of the most comfortable ones we've had anywhere. Conveniently located, quiet location. We will definitely stay when we visit again.
What a wonderful experience!! Our suite was excellent. We were conveniently located to antique shopping, quaint shops, and WalMart! We bought our groceries and enjoyed some meals in our suite. Enjoyed having a washer and dryer so we didn't have to bring home dirty laundry! We were close to historical locations which we thoroughly enjoyed. We could go out in the morning, come back for a quick nap, and be ready for the evening. We plan to return in the fall. We had plenty of room in our suite. It was perfect for the two of us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great memories were made.
Stayed this past weekend to jumpstart spring break - 2 adults and 2 kids ages 13 and 9. We are Bluegreen owners and this is the first time staying at this resort. We were on the 3rd floor of the 200 building. Overlooks the golf course on one side and the road on the other. Didn't hear road noise but did hear the train multiple times. Kids loved looking over and seeing the roller coasters at Busch Gardens. Pros: Furnishings were nice, couch and chairs in living room were nice quality. We had a 2 BR with a pullout couch which we didn't use to sleep since there were 4 of us. Unit was large and we couldn't even hear the kids when they were in their room watching TV with the door open. The unit was clean and well stocked with the basic cooking utensils so you could cook in the unit if you wanted. They even included a small salt and pepper set which was a really nice feature and a bag of microwave popcorn. Bathrooms were big and towels new and fluffy. Beds were comfy. Had an elevator for floors 2 and 3 and small carts for luggage. The outside pool looked great but wasn't yet open. Front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly even when declining the owner update they are required to ask to schedule. The game room was on the second floor of the check in building. It was clean and had a pool table, air hockey, pool table, board games and some places to sit and relax. Close to all the sites - we have been to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg previously so this time we visited Historic Jamestown, the Yorktown Battlefield and the new Revolutionary War Museum - all were great and within short driving distance. Cons: Since there isn't an indoor pool, the front desk said you could call their sister property and ask to use their pool and that resort would let you know if you could use the pool. Seemed like a very passive approach - they could easily make this a perk by making it easier and more welcoming as an option. The train came by at least once during the night. For light sleepers, it could be an issue. For us, it was fine and we went right back to sleep. The overall resort is fairly small which was nice but they also didn't have any planned activities for kids. Wasn't an issue since we had nice weather but would have been challenging if we had bad weather and/or stayed at the resort longer. Would like a teabag or 2 in the room along with the coffee. Overall, we like the resort and recommend it for families or people looking for something more than a hotel to stay and visit the Williamsburg area. We will be back since it is only a 3 hour drive from where we live.
We booked a 2BD condo that also had a sleeper sofa which made sleeping our family of five much easier. Two full baths meant we didn't have to get up super early to get ready. We used the kitchen for breakfast and to heat up leftover Pizza from Anna's Brick Oven. We will visit again!
This is the second time I have stayed at this resort. This time I booked a 3 bedroom unit and was put in building 300 which is new. The unit was spacious but very dark requiring lights on all day long. Had an issue with ants in the kitchen which they took care of the minute I mentioned it. Had a first floor unit which was very quiet and it was nice to have laundry facilities in the unit! They have a small gym which has machines, weights, stability ball and yoga mats so I was all set for working out. Not many use the gym I had it to myself! Staff was friendly and they served cookies daily in the afternoon. My biggest complaint was the checkout time of 10 am. I explained we had a 6pm flight and asked if we could have a later check out time and I was told 11 was the latest . This was very disappointing considering I am a platinum blue green owner and pay thousands a year for my points. I could see if it was peak season but the place was no where near full so was not happy with the response! I ended up checking out a day early and going to a Marriott hotel near the airport that was much busier and they let me check out at 2pm. Overall a decent vacation and nice place to stay!
We just finished our second long-weekend stay at the Bluegreen Parkside Resort. As many have noted, this is a timeshare property, but available inventory is rentable on a per-night basis. The manager for those reservations has changed since our last visit, and it is now handled via Choice Hotels. For our last visit a few years ago, we stayed in one of the "Presidential Villas." These are stand-alone homes, beautifully appointed and situated. As we were a party of six, we wanted to stay here again, but after speaking with Choice and the property itself, it appears that the villas are now ONLY available to property owners. Too bad. That said, we still had a great visit. We booked a three-bedroom, two-bath unit in what I learned was the "new" building -- #300. We were on the top (third) floor. Check-in was a breeze. You are offered the obligatory choice to attend a time-share seminar when you pick up your parking placard from the Concierge, but they are not "hard sell" in any way. The unit was a beautifully appointed as the villas. The back bedroom had a king-size bed and very large bathroom with huge walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms are in the front and face the outside walkway -- one had two beds, the other a queen bed. A full bath with tub/shower combo was in the hall. On the top floor, there was no noise whatsoever, and the back view is of a golf course. Everything we needed for the visit was provided, and the unit was a perfect size for four adults and two teenagers. There was an additional sofabed in the living room, which we didn't use. I highly recommend Parkside. If you're going to Busch Gardens, you can literally see the rides from the resort. Even if you're visiting Colonial Williamsburg, you're about 5 minutes away, down one road. Great property.
If you are visiting Bush garden and want to relax afterwards this is the place to stay, the hotel is located close to Bush garden and lots of restaurants. The check-in and staff was amazing. The rooms are very big and has lots of amenities.
We are Bluegreen owners and stayed at this resort for the first time. We are from Canada and the week we decided to come was so cold but I am thankful we were able to get away. We were very pleased with our stay And have nothing bad to say about the resort except for we stayed in room 4111 which is on the bottom floor and a corner room. It was a lovely room and met all our needs. Outside the bedroom window were all the air conditioning units which were very loud throughout the night. If your a light sleeper then this room may not be for you. One thing we liked was we went to the front desk of the other resort and got a guest pass and we were able to use their indoor pool which the kids loved. We are glad to be owners.
When we decided to take a vacation trip to visit family near Norfolk VA, the first thing was to see if there was a Bluegreen location nearby. There are two; we chose this one because it had a high probability of being quieter than the other. This location is reasonably quiet and has the potential to stay that way for a long time. There is an Interstate highway a short distance behind the property but the trees between make the traffic noise nearly unnoticeable. In front of the property are two local highways and a pair of rail lines. We rarely noticed any traffic noise from there. As the Norfolk area is one of the country's major ports, we expected to hear trains and were not disappointed. However they are not loud enough to be bothersome. We had a one bedroom suite that is very nice. It appears to be well maintained. It is well supplied as we expect from a Bluegreen property. The main weakness is Internet access. The guest wi-fi is fully public and open, unsecured, painfully slow, and subject to intermittent (although brief) cuts in service. The location is very nice for us. It is very easy to get to from I-64 east: take the exit and then the first right turn. It is convenient to the Williamsburg-Jamestown-Yorktown historic area, yet not a bad drive to see my relatives in Norkolk. The property is having some renovation done (that seems to be a regular thing at Bluegreen properties) but it did not interfere with us. This is our first time at this Bluegreen location, but we will be returning.
This is a condo, so no free breakfast. It is well kept, roomy and has extrordinary full bathrooms (2). There are solid services and a huge well stocked kitchen. There is w working fireplace and a view of Apollo' Chariot at Busch Gardens. While it is across the street from BGW, you have to go to 199 to cross over RR tracks. Service is excellent.
