Governor's Inn - A Colonial Williamsburg Hotel

Comfortable, clean room. A/C unit was a bit loud. Nice that breakfast was included with stay.

Nothing fancy, old school motel really. But attractive site, perfectly clean room in which everything functioned as expected, decent light breakfast included, and. best of all, pleasant walking distance to restaurants and the college. The last (reasonable) hotel in Williamsburg of which this can be said. I will definitely bear this place in mind.

Good location. Comfortable room with nice toiletries. Colonial style breakfast room with standard continental breakfast. Work area upstairs helpful. Staff very accommodating.

a nice economy hotel just 3 blocks from colonial williamsburg. rooms pretty clean and comfortable. pool and breakfast included.

This is a lovely little hotel with a beautiful pool. Close to Colonial Williamsburg, William and Mary, and just a few miles from Busch Gardens.

3 blocks walk to Colonial Williamsburg and short drive to resale ants, shops and other areas of interest. Nice quiet pool As well to cool Off after sight seeing

Free shuttle to Busch Gardens and Water Country; within walking distance to downtown Williamsburg; hotel was clean and the staff was helpful as well as friendly; free continental breakfast. Hotel is nothing fancy and the continental breakfast was pretty basic, but the hotel was very affordable and CLEAN. I would stay here again. FYI stayed for a week.

Check in not until 4pm, later than most. Does have a shuttle to local parks but not advertised.

air conditioner did not operate correctly it would cut off.....you had to fiddle with the controls to cut it back on The remote to the tv did not work

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. The kids loved the pool. The continental breakfast was very filling. If you are staying with children, you may want to use this hotel to save on paying for breakfast. The free breakfast was one the reasons we chose thi hotel. Our room was cleaned daily.

Great to walk to attractions and free shuttle to busch gardens. Our room however was not the cleanest. The bathroom needs a thorough cleaning with BLEACH to kill the mold and odors. More than than the walk ways in the room should be vacuumed. The mattresses are not recent. The front dest staff are very friendly and helpful. If you have small children shield them from the "dirty" mouths of the housekeeping staff. Otherwise, for ease of walking to sites, go for it!

I really liked that we were in close proximity to historical museums and shops. I also liked that the shuttle service saved us gas on getting around especially to Busch Gardens. However, I did not like the breakfast. Iwas hoping for buffet style eggs, bacon or sausage, grits and more. The boiled eggs were cold and they served the same thing everyday. They could change it up a bit. The shower did not not have a shower liner so the floor would get wet. But it was a good stay. Nice and peaceful.

I stay at the Governor's Inn every time I visit the Williamsburg area and every time has been great. I think it is the best value in the area. It's not a 5 star hotel but you get everything you need to have a good trip.

the room was very clean and very convenient location

Our first room wasn't clean properly but the staff at front desk was really nice and gave us another room without any hassle. It's not the fanciest but clean and great location.

I always stay here when I go to the Williamsburg area. You cannot beat the value and the location is great.

The Governor's Inn may be an older motel, but the friendliness and the expertise of the staff made our stay a pleasure. The free breakfast in the morning was adequate indeed: fresh fruit (apples, oranges, or bananas were the fruit of the day), hard-boiled eggs, instant grits and instant oatmeal, donuts and danish, toast, bagels and english muffins, frozen waffles, coffee, tea, and cocoa. The hotel was a short 5 block walk from Colonial Williamsburg which made it easy for us to leave the car at the hotel. Because it is an official Colonial Williamsburg hotel you get a discount for Colonial Williamsburg tickets. We did not purchase tickets as they were still rather pricey, choosing instead to stroll the streets and visit the shops. We used the savings to visit Jamestown Settlement and Berkeley Plantation instead, which we highly recommend. Yorktown was very enjoyable too. I highly recommend the Governor's Inn as a safe, extremely clean and well-kept budget option. The pool was large and just what we needed after a full day of sightseeing. Why pay for fancy when all you are going to do is sleep there? Will definitely come back next time we visit Williamsburg.

Not super fancy, but clean and very conveniently located for walking to the local attractions. Staff friendly, free continental breakfast had a decent selection. Outside area could have been a little better kept. Never used pool but was a nice size and looked clean.

Great location right now the road from Colonial Williamsburg. Beautiful lap pool about 22 yards long and very clean! Nice rooms, comfy beds & you can't beat the price! Very friendly & heldul staff. Would definitely come here again.

GREAT friendly staff, extremely clean , w/in walking distance to everything we wanted to check out....wonderful stay!
