This property was most likely elegant thirty years ago, probably when the pictures of the "resort", were taken. The grounds are unkempt, the roads need paving, the facilities are a joke. Debris on the tennis courts. View from balcony shows numerous tarps on roofs of other building held in place by sandbags, in order to prevent leakage. Guests are treated to views of equipment and gear in various stages of repair/disrepair all around the facility. Our balcony had a gaping hole in the ceiling. Water damaged tiles throughout the room. The room was clean, though, except for the floors - no carpet and your feet are black on the bottom if you walk barefoot in the room. Mattress was so old it caved in in the middle. In order to obtain your parking pass, they also try to get you to attend a presentation and offer a free stay - probably to sell a time share or something. Who would be crazy enough to buy a time share in this place??? Don't stay here.
Mountain Laurel is right on the money for a low cost 2 star resort. They have all you need for simple family time. The desk staff is very attentive and will go a extra mile. I noticed the staff in the building also are very helpful if you ask. The best feature for me was the very spacious units with the kitchen and 2 full baths. Plus the grounds are peaceful to walk around or just relax in private. Negs: worn out screen doors, different areas are way nicer than others basically meaning if you are assigned rooms in certain sections it is a better experience than others. Rooms closest to the front are much more comfortable with better views in my opinion.
You get what you pay for. It’s a little dingy, and run down.
There were no lights on after dark in the parking lot. The gym looked good but once we went in half of the machines were broken. Missing parts on some of them, taped up and very disorganized. Staff was ok, when we checked in no one gave any further information about breakfast, amenities, locations of anything and the local listing of attractions was from 2016. Very disappointing place, im sure at one time this was a great place but has since fallen in disrepair.
The place was very outdated and calling it a resort is very sad. The staff were friendly but they were not as helpful when asking for recommendations and had to figure out what to do on our own. The worst part about the trip was being given room keys only to walk into a room with someone in it. And it was quite possibly the worst shower I have ever used in all my history of booking hotel rooms.
The resort is old but still nice the doing renovation. I got room with two bed for my self l ask them to change for just one king size bad the was not available. Shower and bath was old l can’t use them the water not coming up they don’t have tissues and plastic bag on the garbage bag. Elevator also not work l have to get out from back side door to go around to come to front desk. The need more tings to do.
Beautiful place. Had fun there. Great accommodations.
The stables pools and music was awesome very nice and clean
