We had an awesome stay. The accommodation was excellent and the staff were always helpful, polite and friendly. The snow was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves every day. The views from our room were magnificent and the food in Whistler was great.
This hotel in some ways is in a great location if you ski or board. Step out the back and you can ski straight down Merlin’s to Blackcomb base. Or a short hike up the hill and traverse across to the Excalibur Gondola mid-Station then hard right down to Whistler village (alternatively the Magic chair at Blackcomb base will get you up the hill although this doesn’t start running until 8.30am, sometimes a little earlier). There is a free bus (no 5) which runs between the hotel and the village, although this is unreliable during heavy snow. We had a 2br unit which was spacious and well appointed, although the kitchen could have done with more cooking utensils (eg roasting pan, casserole dish). The room was serviced daily and we found housekeeping very attentive to our requests. The continental breakfast was overall very good with delicious freshly made waffles. Some of the furniture in our room was dated, with drawers in the second bedroom broken. The main issue was a lack of hot water for showers of an evening, particularly on weekends. Reception informed us there was nothing that could be done about this as multiple rooms share one hot water unit. What??? So a great Christmas to quick lukewarm shower after skiing then off to the thankfully very warm hot tubs, which along with the pool were great.
Fab week at coast for second time. Excellent ski in ski out property to stay. Short 5 min regular bus to ton every 15 mins for convenience. Nice rooms with ability to self cater should you desire with a lovely welcoming fire place, making it a real home from home feel. Fab outdoor pool and hot tub, lovely in the snow, time it right and it can be quiet. Enjoy - we did. Will we back again yeah for sure
Comfortable and great location right on the ski slope. Rooms were clean and spacious The breakfast was marginal there was no protein as in eggs or meat. Also parking was expensive for the small space.
Really, it is the age of the property and room that makes me likley never to return to that property for the amount paid. Location is excellent, but so are many other options nearby. Staff were very very nice, but property is very outdated and price per expectation were definitely askew and because of price to quality / dated room without views I would not likely every return. Location on the slope is ideal and having ski rental in the hotel is ideal as well and I loved this about the place.
We stayed one night at the Coast. Unfortunately my wife left her fur coat in the coat closet. We checked out at noon and were back at the front counter the next morning. The hotel verified that only housekeeping had accessed the room since we left. The coat was not in the room but according to the manager, "we don't have a theft problem with out staff". I've got news for you for them, yes they do! We were not allowed to have a meeting with the manager and housekeeper, he said he had to "protect his staff". Well what about some service for the guests who just paid $799 a night? We found protecting his staff was more important than working with a paying customer to solve a problem. In the end the hotel did absolutely nothing. We filed a police report and the hotel stated that it was there policy to only allow employees to talk to the police, or us, if we present a subpoena. But they don't have a theft problem!! The location is a 10, the maintenance of the room a 6, the hotel manger a "0".
This hotel has a Great location on the slopes of Blackcomb mountain, serves good and hearty buffet breakfast, its staff is friendly and helpful. The guestrooms are spacious and cozy. Good bed. We will be back.
a good ski in and ski out location near the blackcombe lifts. swimming pool and jacuzzis were amazing and great after a strenuous day out on the slopes. Breakfast is very good although it can be very busy and not enough tables, you may have to share a table to enjoy breakfast together. The outside of the building gives a beautiful view, but the inside is of basic furnishing, but it is comfy and okay for the money.
Not too bad hotel nice staff comfortable stay good breakfast too fill up on furniture and kitchen needs updating in rooms.Good location food ski in out but 10min bus ride the village. Wardrobe door was broken in my room and the view from my room wasn’t that good.
Great Location - True Ski in and Ski out. It was the last stop in the village bus so easy to catch into the village - bus no 5. Breakfast could be better thought - need more dining area for breakfast. Great Valet ski storage(friendly and prompt) but rooms were worn (carpet and sofas) and got quite hot and dry. You need to learn how to control the humidity. A bigger newer TV would have been nice. We did have problems drying socks, gloves boots and jackets for a family of 4. We were blessed with >5 days of great snow - 1 meter of snow fell.
