This is a sea front hotel right in the middle of the town. It is close to restaurants and activities. The bed was comfortable and the room was impeccably clean. Great breakfast. The only thing missing would have been a decent coffee machine / someone serving espresso or french press coffee. I'm not very fond of old filter coffee
Location is great. but if you read all the reviews, and the reply from the hotel, you know this hotel needs an update....These rooms are really outdated, old and small. Smallest room I had in South Afrika. (and yes the hotel now will reply with: we are working on it etc) but I think they should sell the unrenovated old rooms at 50% of the price. That is what they are worth. Breakfast is alright. not great. Staff is really friendly and helpfull. (as in all of South Africa) Some great restaurants close by. Whale watching possible in front of the hotel. But I think you have better options in the area.
The Windsor is well located with great views over the bay and whale spotting is regularly experienced in Winter months. The hotel is quite big and quite grand, however we were put in a couple of run down rooms out back the other side of the car park which whilst clean were very very tired. Rates were low perhaps thats why we had poor rooms, Id be interested to know how much rooms in teh actual hotel cost. Breakfast was very good, great selection of hot and cold foods with great expansive views across teh bay. Free car parking
We had 2 nights here hoping to see some whales in the bay and it turned out to be a perfect spot. The rooms are good for the price. Very clean & has comfortable beds. Make sure you get a sea view room or you will be disappointed.
The Windsor is rated *** and deserves every one of them. Perched on the edge of Windsor Bay, the view is ancient (and frequently enriched with whales). I did not have one of their sea-facing rooms - which must be gorgeous - but my simple room in their extension at the back was neat, clean, comfortable and unharmed by modern décor. Everything I needed: double-bed, two-seater settee, fan for warm weather, wall-heater for the cold (plus an extra blanket in the cupboard), spotless shower-room, tea-making stuff *(with biscuits), TV, phone. Generous buffet breakfast with plenty for continental or "full English". Friendly, helpful staff. Note: no lift. If you want lunch or dinner, walk round the corner to Hermanus centre. I sat in the bar, beer and toasted sandwich in hand, and watched the sun go down over the sea.
Good value for money, what a lovely spot. All you need, right on the seafront. Good clean rooms, good value for money, centrally located, nice and quiet, frindly staff, good breakfast served, nice relaxing atmosfer. Thank you, for a good time.
I could sit and stare at the view all day! Very comfortable room and modern bathroom. Lovely breakfast. Great location for land-based whale watching. Walking distance to several seafront restaurants. Helpful staff. Fast wifi.
Spent 2 nights with my 7 year old son. Sea facing room with balcony. Room 34. Has a little lounge with sleeper couch. Neat room. Bathroom spacious but shower is in bath and hand held. Not great Hotel does not serve lunch or dinner. Bit of an issue when traveling with a child. Restaurants near by but not ideal.
Well situated on the marine drive overlooking the cliffs and the sea .Great for whale watching and close to other view sites and restaurants. Our accommodation was comfortable with a large room and patio. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere . There is a lounge with a real fire place---ideal for a cold evening after whale watching. There are also seating areas with large windows and the breakfast was more than adequate.
