Beautiful hotel in a beautiful village. Excellent, helpful, friendly, welcoming and informative staff. Rooms are extremely clean and very comfortable. En-suites are superb! Lovely bar and restaurant. Nicely cooked fresh food form a very good menu. Decent WiFi in rooms. Only drawback is that they have NO debit/credit card machine available at the bar/restaurant.
Elegant hotel in a picturesque country setting about 5 miles from Leeds. Recognised as a priority member on arrival and given an upgraded room in the original part of the building. WOW, I have never had 4 rooms to spread out in before. Wardrobe room, sitting/TV room, bedroom with TV and the bathroom. Smaller dinning areas near the bar for less formal eating and larger rooms available for parties and weddings, etc. All the staff were very friendly and polite. Lovely hotel for an intimate or large 'special occasion'. My first choice when working near-by! My only complaint is that when there are functions on, all the smokers congregate around the hotel entrance.
We used this hotel as a stop over as part of a group tour, the hotel and staff are lovely, However, we were asked upon check in to fill out our choices for an evening meal, my party all chose the chicken wrapped in bacon as part of our main course, sadly it had quite obviously been pre cooked and kept warm, the chicken was so dry it was barely edible, we had to ask for extra gravy to help it down, we also felt very rushed.. our table was booked for 6-30 and by 7-20 we had been served a full 3 course meal with coffee and were out in the bar, it felt like they wanted to get us fed and out as quickly as possible.
We stayed here as part of a tour the staff were helpful and friendly evening meal was hot and tasty as was the breakfast unfortunately the lift had broken and there was no beer they had problems with the pumps but the rooms were clean and spacious if a trifle warm would go again and recommend
We have stayed at this Holiday Inn a number of times and were married there in 2014. We recently stayed for an anniversary night away in December and just this weekend for a Valentines night away. We always have a wonderful time whether it be just the two of us or if we have our children with us. Superb service and attention to detail. Louise, Carol and Mary are amazing and are always on hand to help us throughout our stays. Highly recommended hotel.
We stayed for the 1 night a party of 9. The room were of a good size and room was clean. The Hotel itself was very pleasant to the eye from the outside and the view in the morning was amazing. Staff were all helpful, food was good and would return if we were in the area again.
We have stayed here quite a few times and will keep going back as have family links. the staff are without exception fantastic. Efficient, friendly and cant do enough to make y our stay a good one. We met family members for lunch and the food was amazing and higher standard than was expected for this type of hotel. the building is very old in parts and some areas could do with a bit of TLC / refurbishment but it does not detract from the good feeling we get when we stay here
This hotel and room were lovely. Would recommend room 007 on the ground floor. The heating didn't work but was quickly sorted by a nice lady on reception. We had our dinner in what looked like a business room on the 1st floor. There was a choice of 2 mains but neither were very appetising. The breakfast next morning was good but always when you do toast it is just warm bread or if you put it through again it is burned. Therre were 44 people on the coach, and the 2 bars had private parties. We had to sit in the bar with about 12 seats and most people just stayed in their room. This was very disappointing as there was no where you could walk to outside as it was in the countryside. We enjoyed it but no thought was given to our coach party and where we could sit for a drink and a chat.
Rooms very dated, nice location and building, room very warm and couldn't turn heating down. Bed uncomfortably so got little sleep. When checking out in the morning the gentleman behind the desk, possibly the manager seemed extremely flustered. Had a queue and didn't seem to know what he was doing. Excellent breakfast, and generally very helpful staff.
We were visiting friends in the area, so really just needed somewhere to sleep. After reading the negative reviews we were really apprehensive about booking this hotel. When we arrived we were happy with the first impressions & at check-in we were met by a very lovely & polite receptionist (sorry we didn't note her name) as IHG gold members we were given a welcome pack & complimentary upgrade which was really nice. When we got to our room we saw that it was more like a suite (room 005) a lounge with television & another television & couch in the bedroom area as well. Plus a large bathroom. The room was spotlessly clean & inviting. We ordered a in room breakfast for the morning which arrived on time & there were copious amounts of food all of which was delicious. We certainly won't have any reservations about returning to this lovely hotel & we are already looking at dates for when we can return. In a nutshell we had a wonderful time at a beautiful hotel & can't wait to visit again really soon.
