Location opposite Royal Armeries was excellent, hotel was clean, rooms comfortable and a pleasant enough hotel, would have given a higher rating if the hotel actually had enough staff, they basically had 1 person manning both the reception and the bar, which meant long waits for a drink or long waits to check in. felt sorry for the young lad running from one area to the next like a headless chicken but from a customer's point of view the service was desperate, very frustrating too that the Wi Fi was inoperative.
Pretty standard Holiday Inn Express let down by the unusable WiFi. Pretty basic requirement for a business trip. It was reported bit they werent able to fix it. Also, beware of the parking. There is a small car park with a holiday inn sign, but this is private with ANPR, so I'm waiting to see if I get a penalty, even though i moved inside of 5 minutes. The proper parking is the multi-story.
We were going to a 'do' at the Armouries, so the location was perfect. Explored the Docks, which is wonderfully hipster. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the room was warm, clean, quiet and comfortable. Hadn't realised that breakfast, (very nice), was included so that was a plus. Cheap, safe parking next door. Didn't get disturbed by the Glaswegian hen do on the same floor.
Stayed mid week on business. Standard HI Express, it's a bit dull but it's clean and breakfast was plenty. I was a bit nervous booking it as sometimes city centre hotels can be noisy but it was quiet (mid week, maybe weekends are busy in the area?). You park in an NCP 2 mins away, £8 for 24 hours, not bad value. Was lazy and ate in the hotel. Those who stay in HI Express a lot know the food can be ropey but had a burger and it was nice. Overall the place is the exact same as every other modern HI Express I would have no issue stating again.
We stayed here for three nights over the weekend with a large group. The staff are great. The rooms are a good size. The breakfasts were good, fresh and as much as one can eat. That can be a dangerous thing. The only thing that could be made better, and it was terrible, was the coffee. The coffee machine is not good coffee. Bluuuurghhh. But that didn't spoil our stay.
My parents and I, stayed at the hotel after going to a reception literally next door. It was very nice because we had effectively rented out the whole floor if not two floors. Pros: 1. Service is very good - they ran out of plates and went to get more. If the food ran out - and if requested - they would apologise and get more 2. Good selection of foods and breakfast - standard full English but a few croissants too 3. Hot Chocolate is amazing 4. Near the city centre 5. Few restaurants and shops nearby Cons: 1. Seating capacity is not proportional to the hotel size 2. Our TV was broken - They replaced it but we were staying one night and left int he morning - but we just wanted to watch it for an hour or so 3. Very expensive > £70 - £140 per night 4. SHOWERS - Everyone basically stayed one night and breakfast was between 6:30 and 10:30, but as it was a wedding reception most people had showers around 09:00 which meant I had a cold shower!! 5. Rooms are very small - designed for rental yield rather than comfort Would I stay here again? Neutral leaning towards no
Didn't pay much at all for this hotel, arrived and the car park is right next door, it is discounted but still does mean £8.00 for 24 hours. I think it was brilliant value for money, the rooms were clean, at a good temperature, good tv, the man at the bar was very happy to serve everyone even until around 23:30. Brilliant breakfast, even though it is only continental there is still a good choice of hot and cold! The location is good also, just a short walk away from the centre (8 mins) and a £2.90 taxi ride! Overall, was a very pleasant stay and good value for money.
Being a regular Holiday Inn user, this was an obvious choice for my trip to Leeds. It's ok but nowhere near the standard of other Holiday Inns. The room size was good, x2 single beds which while wasn't ideal I'm glad I did as one of the duvet covers was badly stained so had to move beds .... not a problem however I had to remake the bed as the mattress protector was a crumpled under the sheet!! The room is tired, the beds are worn, the mattress protectors need growing away, the curtains are plastic & it could really do with a deep clean. It felt more like student digs than an £85 per night hotel room!! On a positive note, the bathroom is spotless & the staff seem very helpful. It's ok here but I wouldn't say this is as comfortable, clean or fresh as the other Holiday Inns & Holiday Inn Express' I've stayed in before.
The Holiday Inn is right opposite the Royal Armouries museum, nearby is Pizza Express, Tesco & express. It is about 20 minutes from the station, the car park we parked in, we got a voucher to pay £8.00. This Holiday Inn, is in a nice quieter area and is right near the river Aire. We got a free breakfast with our stay but unfortunately I could only have bacon, scrambled egg and beans as they do not cater for gluten free which is very dissapointing. My partner had a full cooked breakfast, there was toast, pastries, fruit and yogurt.
The room was clean but very small. The door was so heavy you struggle to get in with a suitcase. The beds are very tired and need or updating. Pillows are comfy though. No fridge, no plugs near the bed, free wifi was unusable. Breakfast was something from the 70s, grab a tray, great if you want a cheap unhealthy fry up but not so good for everyone else. A couple of pieces of tinned melon was their fruit selection. But there is a tesco metro just around the corner. Overall, its ok for a night or two but well below what I expect from a budget hotel these days.
