Holiday Inn Express Leeds City Centre Armouries

We stayed here for 2 nights as we fancied getting away and even though fairly local we have never been to Leeds. I am a very regular visitor to Holiday Inn's but I did find my room a little tired. Paint was peeling a little off the ceiling and the carpet was stained. The breakfast was the usually express offering but found that for some items we had to wait. On both mornings we had to wait for the coffee machine to be filled up a number of times, also the cooked items ran out quickly. The hotel is opposite the Royal Armouries and about 10-15 minute walk into the city. There is a free water taxi but every time we got there we just missed one and they only go every 15 mins so it was quicker for us to walk. There is a multi storey car park next door in which you can have discounted parking. If you are there for a weekend take your parking slip from the hotel and parking ticket to customer service and you can get a weekend pass for £15. This entitles you to come and go as you please. Other wise it is £8 for a day with the hotel discount.

Stayed over for 1 night as working in Leeds city centre. Room was great, modern, walk in shower and a really comfy bed ,had a great nights sleep. Breakfast is included which I can't complain about, it's basic but good.

Was very satisfactory. We were initially concerned with its location, but Central Leeds is with 15 minutes walk or via a regular bus into town. Friendly staff. Excellent all-inclusive breakfast. Room is standardised but a nice touch is that they will provide you with complementary toothbrushes/toothpaste/shampoo/comb etc if you've forgotten. I'm unsure whether this is a Holiday Inn norm but it's a nice touch.

Disappointed with this hotel. We had two rooms and stayed 2 nights, if it had been any longer I think we would have changed hotels. The rooms were acceptably clean but very tired with soft furnishings & bedding old and poor quality. The paint on the walls & ceiling was cracked and peeling and the toilet door handle was hanging off. Our room was also damp smelling, however this improved with having the window open all day. The bathroom was also not great. The sink didn't hold water with the plug down & the toilet was hard to flush. The only good thing was the shower. The breakfast had the basic offering for budget hotels and was ok. I gave the two stars because the location was good & the staff were friendly and helpful. BUT if this is what Holiday Inn is offering I'll stick to Premier Inn in future!

The room has pain pealing, water stains, no door to the toilet and bathroom (it is shared) so sharing is uncomfortable for for people who are not intimately acquainted. The beds are uncomforatble. The doors bang loudly throughot the day and night and the noise of people throughout the night is clearly audiable whilst trying to sleep. The breakfast is adequate althgouh there are not enough staff. On the plus side, the staff are all polite, well mannered and helpful when you can get hold of them. Would I stay there again? No. Sorry Holiday Inns, this is one I will avoid in future.

I visited with my Mum for an overnight stay. I have usually stayed in Premier Inns but thought I would give the Holiday Inn Chain a try. On our arrival we were met by a very pleasant and helpful receptionist and were promptly shown to our room, despite arriving early. The room itself was clean had a good shower room. However there were a few issues - towels provided were very thin and well past their best and to flush the toilet required two hands to push the flush button. The fan in the shower room did not appear to be working. When using my hairdryer there was no plug point near the mirror. There was one chair provided in the twin room ! The biggest disappointment was breakfast the we arrived for breakfast at 8.20 am. The bacon was dried out, sausage poor quality and the scrambled eggs overcooked. We didn't try the baked beans the only other option.Staff in the restaurant did not interact with customers at all it reminded me of a motorway service station restaurant. When comparing this to a Premier Inn breakfast I found it to be very disappointing. I was hoping to have a more enjoyable stay as I will be visiting Leeds frequently over the next few years and the location of the hotel is ideal for my needs.

This hotel was very clean and tidy and extremely well positioned for visiting Leeds. Breakfast was fine and in the price. Rooms very quiet as there are no main roads nearby. You can walk by the canal easily. The hotel is right opposite the armouries museum and several eating places. Car park next door for which you pay but you get a discount. Friday lunchtime to Monday lunchtime £15 car park in and out as much as you want. Overnight £8

Friendly check in, very clean room but needs a little updating few marks on the walls and sofa bed looked broken. Dinner ok,Breakfast good but go down early as it gets busy from 8.30. Would stay again.

Exactly what you expect, very tidy, nice room, good nights sleep nice (simple) breakfast. I use a lot of Holiday Inn Express Hotels and they are all very similar, I did wonder if this one would be noisy but I didn't have a problem and slept very well. The parking was right next door, about £8 for the night. The Wifi worked fine for me too.

Friday night in the centre of Leeds, lots of folk staying attending functions and room next to the lift. We expected a disturbed night but low and behold all was quiet! Great location, only staggering distance from the function rooms at The Royal Armouries. Plain, basic no frills room but clean and comfortable with a well lit shower room with good mirrors - great for getting ready to go out. The breakfast room at the last half hour of breakfast service was pretty awful. The tables needed clearing and wiping down but the self service breakfast itself was surprisingly good. Sufficient choice of hot and cold items available from the buffet including instant porridge, plain and fruit yoghurt, cereals and fruit. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and beans. Still being replenished at 10am. Selection of teas & coffee and bread for toasting. Checked out at 11am and made use of the secure luggage store whilst we went to visit the superb Armouries Museum just across the square (free admission). Would I stay again - absolutely!
