Great location, good for motorways etc. Hotel looks a bit tired, needs a bit of modernisation. White paint has finger marks and doors are worn with use. Phone in room has all the rubber buttons missing! Staff are very friendly but training seems lacking. Not up to speed on room service menu as an example. Overall reasonable for the price but could be so much better with a little tlc.
Yuck, food was horrendous, red wine tasted like it had been opened for weeks and very expensive. The only thing going for this place was the disco afterwards. Can't comment on any of the accommodation as we live locally and didn't stay. Very expensive will never use again
My daughter and son in law were married and had their reception here on Saturday and it was AMAZING! From the moment we walked into a wedding fair 15 months ago to checking out this morning we have received superb care. Amy, the wedding coordinator has been brilliant every step of the way, Lucy and Debra were so friendly at breakfast every morning and the man who serviced our suite every day couldn't do enough to make us comfortable. The reception staff were always one step ahead of us with our questions and requests. There will simply never be enough words to thank them all for a truly fantastic time.
Couple of things to mention after having read previous reviews are firstly, book on the IHG website if you want a special room i.e. one with a balcony, and ,secondly, I love a bath in a morning but future travellers please be assured the showers in the rooms are really fantastic to the point 'er indoors wants one at home!! (Sadly for me!!) We arrived at the Hotel and received the warmest of welcomes which was really nice. The balcony room we stayed in had lovely views over the Pennines but look down below you could also keep your eye on the car in the car park. Rooms are very well appointed, modern. and immaculately clean. The Spire Health Club which is complimentary to Hotel Guests offers a well equipped Gym, Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Room which is well worth a visit, and again immaculately clean, the Staff there are lovely and very welcoming. We arrived on a Saturday when they were entertaining guests for a wedding - so it was quite busy but not noisy at all at night. Early on the Sunday morning (0.630) when we came down the cleaning staff had obviously worked until the early hours and there was not a thing out of place in the Public areas of the premises - not a dirty glass, confetti, cig butt, dirty table to be seen. I wish all Hotels kept these same high standards but sadly there are lots who don't. The Menu is a bit typical 'chain hotel' but offers a good selection, very nicely cooked and the selection at breakfast is really aimed at everyone's taste and served to the highest standard. The Hotel itself is situated just literally a few hundred yards from Junction 25 on the M62, so ease of travelling there is great. Finally and most importantly are the Staff here. They are a fantastic team who can not do too much to make your stay welcome. I am not one to write a review and mention names but this time I feel I must, thanks to Lucy (A truly lovely person who is so customer orientated and caring - well done Kew Green for appointing such a loyal member of Staff x) Holly (all the best for uni!! and a really hard worker x) and Kate (well done for being part of the management team x) Notwithstanding all the staff without exception are really excellent. Lovely Hotel to visit and we will certainly go there again soon.
Comfortable hotel with good facilities. The pool and gym are excellent, rooms are comfy and clean. The staff without exception are friendly, polite and helpful. Overall a really nice place to stay and would recommend. My only criticism was breakfast. The first morning of our stay the service was pretty good, the food on all days was adequate but nothing to write home about. Every morning of our 3 night stay when we went down to breakfast the tables were not clean enough. I had to wipe crumbs from our table and chairs. On the Saturday they had a wedding, so Sunday morning breakfast was very busy and there wasn't enough staff to cope, it took ages to get a cup of tea and the kids wanted hot chocolate but by the time it came we had finished eating. The kids had a hot chocolate with their breakfast every morning but on Sunday morning not only was it late it was undrinkable and tasted awful. My top tip - don't stay when they have big functions on. The deterioration in service is really noticeable.
As A Spire Elite member, I booked this "Full Service" Holiday Inn rather than a Holiday Inn Express as I expected more comfortable facilities. Very disappointed not to receive any type of recognition or upgrade, the room only had a shower!!!! I am tired of this trend to tear our Bath Tubs which is becoming more and more frequent despite the fact I have never been asked or polled as a frequent customer. Despite the Receptionist assuring me I could add my preference to my profile, I can assure you there is no option for a Bath Tub, I have checked. I also found the Room very bare and plain, quite uninviting, sorry will not be back.
Just back after another great weekend in this great hotel when visiting family in Mirfield. Whilst we were disappointed not to be allocated a room with a balcony as we had requested ( The hotel was busy with a wedding that weekend) we were happy with our comfortable room and enjoyed our three night stay. We used the excellent pool in the mornings and enjoyed an appetising breakfast each day. Staff in the hotel are friendly and accommodating. The young man on the reception desk was particularly friendly and advised us to book directly with the hotel in the future rather than through Booking.Com. This we will do. Look forward to the next time.
Spent 3 (9 to 12 June) nights (Friday to Monday) as attending a wedding. As you expect of a Holiday Inn – clean, modern, roomy and bland. It has only two levels, so a very linear hotel. No lift from ground to first (least I did not find it.) Restaurant had (like any HI) a ‘narrow’ evening menu. Breakfast was typical buffet. There was gym, pool and sauna – but did not use any of them. Overall Holiday Inns are consistent – you can go into anyone and more or less you will know exactly what you will get. They are consistently bland but efficient and inexpensive. Very convenient for M62, Halifax and south Bradford. And was not too far for us to day-trip up to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. And of course Haworth (for Brontë Parsonage Museum).
I've stayed here so many times and it's one of my favourite places to stay! The rooms are clean and modern and some have balconies with lovely views! The gym is amazing and there is a lovely pool, sauna and hot tub. The food is always so lovely and the staff are really nice! Would definitely recommend staying here!
Spent a day and night here 11/08/17 lovely clean rooms not a complaint at all rooms spacious fully white clean bedding. All staff very polite and helpful. Only problem we had is a spider in the room and we lost it and couldn't catch it lol and I was scared to sleep in there...bf went go inform reception and they moved us straight away to another room no problem at all. Fitness centre was great gym pool jacuzzi sauna and steam room made use of all these facilities. All very clean and well maintained. Food is absolutely beautiful... the complimentary breakfast was amazing food all well cooked by the lovely chef 'Emma' who was very polite n lovely came and greeted us while she was packing away the food lovely lady making sure we was happy with our food. Overall was a lovely relaxed stay prices are also good would defo recomend and we will most definitely be returning. Thank you holiday Inn for making our stay a happy and relaxing stay :)
