We stayed here as part of our Yorkshire Dales Luxury break. The hotel was the best thing about the weekend! It was very clean, the rooms were spacious and had everything you need in them. The staff were all incredibly friendly and smiley! Everytime we walked past reception, the staff always smiled and greeted you. We didn't use the gym and pool but it looked quite good! Seemed to be rather popular too. The food for the evening meal was lovely! It was a buffet style meal which we love! There was a cold starters section with salads, coleslaw, rice etc with soup as a warm option and then the main consisted of a roast dinner. My wife is vegetarian and she had a goats cheese tart which she loved. We didn't have dessert as we were so full but there was cheese cake, chocolate cake, fruit salad etc. Very good variation of food! Our breakfast was also buffet style. It was lovely! There was a choice of cereal with milk or yoghurt, fruit, choice of full English, toast, croissants, pain au chocolates etc. Lots of choice! We were stuffed! The waitresses brought over tea or coffee and you could choose a cold drink from cranberry juice, orange, apple or water. We really enjoyed it! In the reception area there are some board games, one of which we borrowed to play on the evening. Quite a nice touch I think! We'd like to thank the staff for their hospitality and if we're ever in that area again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Spot on ,clean comfortable ,good food ,a small gym and a pool, plus steam room ,sauna,Jacuzzi, rooms good and the power shower excellent, but it was the staff who made the difference ,very helpful and went that extra mile ,they were exemplary and made the weekend despite the bad weather see pic We all said many thanks

REFURBISHMENT PROGRAM!Booked 3 rooms over the telephone through Holiday Inn direct after looking online through comparison websites. After haggling with the lady about the price because she was reluctant to match the online price (which I find infuriating) we were booked in. Great! Or so I thought! When we arrived we where greeted by an abundance of builders vans outside reception and what can only by described as a chaotic building site as soon as we entered the building. We where booked in under the wrong name (‘Refneu’), not sure how that happened as the rooms were prepaid/non cancel ? I was totally embarrassed, as I had suggested this hotel to my friends and first impressions where awful. After I mentioned to the receptionist, it may have been an idea to notify people when booking, that you may be entering what looks like a DIY S.O.S film set, she replied with “where you not told? Oh, it’s on the website!” I replied with, obviously not, I would have booked somewhere else if I had known! Not much good, if you book by telephone! There was no restaurant and makeshift bar in what felt like a village hall. On a more positive note, the rooms were fine. Clean, warm and quite spacious. Just a shame they where the only place you could be comfortable! I understand that these refurbishments need to take place from time to time. But, to expect someone who has no prior knowledge of the work, to be happy about taking 3 couples on what was supposed to be a bit of a break/relaxing weekend is a bit naive. Perhaps an invitation for us to return with a bit of a deal on rooms/food may have been a good gesture? I am sure the place is lovely now! Not much conciliation to me, my wife and friends though!

Great stay over, fully recommend and will be back. Hotel was quiet due to the time of year but the staff were attentive and all the facilities were open. Used the gym and pool, great facility and ideal location just off the m62, so easy to get about.

We checked in at around 3pm and immediately jumped back on the bus to take us to our concert. Returning to the hotel at 12:40am, we settled in the bar and asked whether we could order sandwiches as we had discussed with the check-in staff. It turned out that these were not available on the 24 hour menu, but the duty manager immediately offered to prepare these himself since we had been told that we could order them. This was excellent service. Later, we found that the rooms were clean and welcoming, as were the bathrooms. The following morning, we had a breakfast meeting in the bar area, which was comfortable and conducive to a discussion. Unfortunately, we had to leave immediately after, which meant that there was no time to investigate the gym, pool or patio area, all of which looked inviting. As always, it's the staff who make or break a hotel, and again we were impressed with the Holiday Inn.

We booked a two night stay a few weeks ago. We checked that the leisure facilities were open, but weren't made aware of he refurbishments taking place. However, this didn't really affect our stay, except that we ate out both nights when we may have dined in the new restaurant if it had been open. We had a superb room and some nice little birthday goodies. All of the staff were helpful (and apologetic when they accidentally booked another couple for our room), but a special mention must go to Carlton. The leisure pool is a good size and wasn't too busy when we used it. The gym also looked good, but we didn't use it. Both mornings we had a full English breakfast, which sets you up for the rest of the day.

Found this hotel just for a getaway long weekend in Yorkshire .made up that I could see it from the motorway on the way in .so easy to find .stayed in an exec room as the room rate was decent so I upgraded .room very nice with a balcony over looking the hills & industrial area at the front .gym sauna steam room jacuzzi well maintained & spent between 2-3 hrs in there each day because it was so nice 👍.didnt eat any food or buy any beer as we went out each night locally .got a late stay till 1pm which really helped as we went back in the gym for a while in the morning .place is undergoing a little refurb at reception & new restaurant being built at the side looks nice .the reception refurb didn't disturb any of our stay at all .all in a great stay nice hotel & will definitely return again .

Stayed for 2 nts on business and arrived to find substantial refurbishment underway in restaurant and lobby. I was given a room on the ground floor near the meeting rooms and did have some noise until midnight as the tram were setting up meetings hit the following day. The food was great although they were having to serve in a different area and the staff friendly as usual - no other facilities used this stay.

Restaurant was being refurbed - which were called about in advance - and a function was on - so we ate in the conference room - the staff were so good , the pool and fitness centre of great quality and a fantastic breakfast meant we did not even notice any changes. This type of customer care and management exceeded our expectations. Well Done !!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over a weekend in November 2018. We were visiting our family on my wife's 70th Birthday. As we have found in the past the hotel is clean and warm with friendly staff, our bedroom was on the first floor with a balcony and chairs, which we sat on, even in November. When our family visited on the Sunday we had drinks in the bar/lounge as well as Birthday cake which we brought and was allowed to use. The restaurant has a good menu, evenings and mornings as well as a varied menu in the bar at breakfast time. Guests can use the swimming pool and gym while residents. The only downside was while getting changed the the men's changing room a man brought his young girl in to get changed, I am not a prude but it is uncomfortable getting dried and changed with a young child standing a few feet away.
