Travelling with my disabled mother to Newcastle for Christmas, we decided to stop off at Holiday Inn Leeds Brighouse. Nice hotel in quiet area, great and large bedrooms with plenty of space and most importantly.... dog friendly. Only gripe was that we had to wade through a rowdy Christmas part to get to the bedrooms. Surely the function suite is the best place to put a photo booth, as opposed to the corridor? Luckily the rooms being on the same floor and fifteen paces from the party, there was no noise carried over. Very impressed. I was allocated a room next to mammy, but sadly had to request a room move as guest before me had smoked marijuana in there before my arrival. Front desk arranged room move very quickly, and luckily still near to my mum. I would visit here again.

Staff so accommodating in putting our family in rooms with connecting doors. Perfectly clean, massive beds! More space than we needed. Restaurant attached offered free meals for the children staying. Good value breakfast included. Ample leisure facilities, swimming pool full acess for children. Great access to M62, Brighouse 5 mins, Huddersfield 10 mins up the motorway and Bradford/Leeds 15-20 mins in the other direction - brilliant. Would use again for definite.

Tried to book Christmas Day Lunch. A deposit was taken. I called a few days later to pay the balance. The sales team denied they had taken the original deposit payment and I had not contacted them. Basically what they were saying was I made the whole thing up, go away we are keeping your money. Thank god for online banking, call logs and emails. Just a word of warning always pay by debit or credit card if booking an event here just in case this happens to anyone else you have legal evidence that way.

Yesterday we experienced Christmas dinner with Santa. There was 4 adults and 2 children. Would have to say the children enjoyed but the big down fall was the dinning room. The area where the starters were was not big enough. Also the sweet offerings were aleady laid out at the same time directly above the starters. This is not ideal as i did see bits of food landing on the cakes. Hence i had no dessert. The cavery was just average. Frozen roast potatoes that lacked taste. Very thin gravy also tastless overall very poor. My mum had the Christmas pudding where she found it was rock hard. Also a bit of Christmas music very low would have added to the Christmas spirit.

Okay, so the cleanliness of the rooms is great. Big Kudos to Housekeeping Manager and the team. That is all the that was good with the hotel. The front desk staff are very unprofessional. The guy who checked us in, James I think, was very rude and abrupt and rushed the check in and seemed like he just wanted us gone. Several times I walked past the desk on the way to the bar and restaurant and noticed him on his personal phone, not good customer service at all. The bar staff were unpleasant too, not even a smile or a 'Good Evening'. Management really need to give the staff Customer Service Training as this hotel lacks the simple customer service that a hotel requires. On departure day, the girl on the desk was very busy and I had to wait 15 minutes to check out. I didn't mind waiting but when I was next to check out I did not get ' I do apologise about the wait' something which makes a small issue rectified. I will not stay here again.

Stayed here for a few years now & the rooms are always fab & so is the function room we use, this year my sister in law got locked in the loo in our room & the staff were amazing fast to help and gave us two free complimentary drinks for our inconvenience, top job keep up the good work our room was fab with a balcony, Fab weekend

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. Hotel very close to the M62, so ideally placed. A couple of supermarkets within a few minutes drive. Check in quick & easy. Well appointed room on the ground floor overlooking a grassed area at the back of the hotel. Nice bathroom with good shower. Complimentary tray. Comfy bed. We went out in the evening so can't comment on the food menu, but breakfast was very nice, good selection to suit everyone. Didn't use the gym or pool but looked nice. All staff that we came into contact with where very friendly & helpful. Would recommend.

This review is nothing to do with the gym facilities, but it is based on the blunt, eager to get commission staff which work at the complex and the customer service i have recieved from the staff at the gym. I went into the gym a number of months ago stating that i was thinking about signing up. At this point i was told it would be £10 for the day and this would be taken from my membership fee (if i was to sign up) which i found understandable. At the end of my session i enjoyed the facilities and was considering a membership. I mentioned that i could not afford a membership at the time due to more important outgoings, but when i could afford i would come back to set up payment and a membership. At this point a young member of staff said to me 'why don't you fill in all the forms to sign up and then the next time you come in the form will be filled in and you can start straight a membership' (which i thought was a good idea at the time) but i have later discoverd it wasnt as i haven't been back to the gym, due to financial difficulties. After a phone call two months later, i found out they have been taking money the whole time out of my bank account without my consent. I was fuming by this and think i deserve my money back. So therefore be aware and careful if signing up to this gym in future.

The staff was so welcoming and friendly. We have been to a few Holiday Inn hotels and this, by far, was the best we have stayed at yet. We thought we would order room service and again they was so helpful and friendly. The food was very good. The facilities on site are brilliant with the bar, pool and health centre. There is plenty of car parking too. There was a wedding on when we stayed and even though you could here it from our room, surprisingly, it was that loud you could easily ignore it. My only disappointment was the shower. Whilst in the shower you had it to the correct heat and then BOOM it was super hot that you had to run out. Nothing major and noted with reception on check out. Would definitely recommend.

The location of this hotel is good, with quick links to the M62 although not so close you can here it. The lay out is slightly strange with the rooms at 1 end of the hotel with the bar and restaurant at the other. It has a gym and pool, although I did not use them so can comment. Staff were pleasant and helpful although at meal time a number of them tried pushing us to order the special. It turns out there was a bonus for the member of staff who sold the most, which seems strange. Targets like these drive a certain behaviour which can be off putting. For me the price of the food is the biggest drawback here. When you are on a budget it can be hard to choose something on the menu which comes in under this. The quality is good but not excellent and it let's down the visit. As an example a bowl of curry with rice was over £15 which if I order one from the local curry house I know it would not be that cost. On the plus side, breakfast was good. Lots of choice on offer including a good fruit bowl.
