Sometime in my recent stays at Crowne Plaza’s - they have been more of a Holiday Inn level. I’m pleased to say that the Crowne Plaza in Leeds is a proper Crowne Plaza. Excellent stay in a hotel with good rooms, good bar, very good food & excellent staff
Business trip saw me looking around the www for Leeds hotels, there's lots! Anyway picked the Crowne Plaza, which is walking distance from the train station, and not far from the Trinity Shopping Centre. Nice friendly reception staff welcomed me with a smile and I was checked in quick. Cracking room on the third floor, which was surprisingly big, had a sofa bed, desk, coffee table, nice lighting, big TV, complimentary bottle of water, iron and ironing board, safe, all very good. Made use of the free gym, but it wasn't very big and the kit was a bit well used and clunky, but I got a good hour workout, so all good. My room shower was bath/shower combo with shower curtain, which is dated and don't like but ok, just got to put up with that. Nice dinner afterwards, good breakfast selection in the morning too, muesli, cereals, muffins, pastries, and hot selections. Nice staff for both dinner and breakfast, thank you. Would stay again.
Well. I travel extensively with work and often shy away from the corporate 3 to 4 star chain hotels. My usual hotel of choice when in Leeds was Dakota Deluxe. After an exceptionally embarrassing incident there on my last visit I vowed never to return. Anyhow I digress. We stayed under my friends name on this visit but I have at the time of writing already booked in for November for 3 nights in the best suite within the brand. I am looking forwards to returning already. The check in was efficient. Team members helpful and fun. A special mention to the GM on running such a good property and as I say, I look forwards to returning in November for an extended stay. Best wishes & thanks. Greg
First of all we realised that we had taken a wrong turn when close to the hotel.....no problem, we called up on the phone, described where we were & the receptionist was really helpful in redirecting us, staying on the phone whilst sure that we were now facing the right direction (phone on Bluetooth). We were slightly earlier than check-in time, no problem, we could go to our room straight away, no drama. The room was lovely, warm & comfortable & no outside road noise despite being so central. Used the swimming & leisure area, really clean & friendly staff. Breakfast was totally relaxed & loads of choice at the buffet. Reception staff were friendly, helpful & keen to ensure a good stay. We loved it
Spent two nights here on a weekend break. Very comfortable rooms. The hotel was busy but not a lot of noise at night. Very enjoyable stay. Best to book direct with the hotel as you get a better rate than going through booking sites
stayed as a party of 15 for a birthday weekend. Rooms tastefully done, clean and colourful. Hotel itself a bit like every other business hotel but some nice touches in foyer ie fruit and water. Used the pool which was part of leisure centre it was very busy and a bit dark in the water, looked like all the underwater pool lights were not working. Very good Jacuzzi. Breakfast was ample again very busy but staff coped wonderfully. Not dead central so expect a bit of a walk
Stayed here with my hen party. We got a lovely welcome from reception who made it very easy to check in. There is a car park at the hotel which is £10 each night. The rooms were spacious with 2 double beds in each (super comfy) Breakfast was lovely with a good variety and they had plenty of seats both mornings we went. We used the spa facilities. Saturday morning was incredibly busy so after my facial we headed out and returned when it was quieter later in the afternoon. Fabulous stay! Great location to town and very close to train station!
Booked this hotel through Superbreaks for a few days away at Easter. First time in Leeds, Picked it because it was walking distance from the train station and the fact that it had a swimming pool. We booked room only so didn't eat in the hotel. The room was lovely, bed really comfy, hairdryer and fridge in room which was handy. We made good use of the swimming pool which was lovely and clean and great for an early morning swim or a swim before getting ready to go out at night. The bathrobes in the room were handy to wear to go down to the pool and we also dried off and walked back to our room in our bathrobes too which saved us getting changed. Also something i've not seen before, a machine to dry your swimming costume, what a great idea. Overall we were very happy with this hotel and would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Leeds centre, we plan to return for a long weekend in the not to distant future. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
Fabulous hotel close to train station and town centre, just a few minutes’ walk to the shopping centre. Lovely fresh spacious room and fantastic facilities, including a gorgeous heated pool, hot tub and sauna. Fast, friendly service at breakfast with a wide range of choice. Would not hesitate to stay here again next time I’m in Leeds.
Well second visit and all I can say that the fact that the restaurant has been newly kitted out means that certain members of staff have ideas above their station Don’t bother paying extra for breakfast it’s not worth the scrambled eggs are powdered and the rest of the congealed food is not that appertising. Also my pet hate is the smallest glasses in the world for your water!!! The staff are average the hotel is average and seem to be more interested in making their money than guest experience. We stay in Leeds every year and will look for other hotels next time!!!
