Stayed to watch England play at Elland Road. Hotel was nice, staff pretty friendly.Rooms were okay ,if a little small compared to other Crowne Plaza, I have stayed at, although decor was modern. I accessed the Club lounge with my IHG loyalty membership , this was very poor, no service, no food and all despite only eight people being the lounge.

We visited Leeds for a concert, and stayed here for two nights. The room was perfect and very comfortable, the breakfasts were lovely, the staff were very helpful and the location was ideal for us. We'd happily stay here again.

The hotel is great and has all that you could wish for in a business stay. The meeting rooms are good although coffee (albeit good) comes from a machine outside the room. The accommodation is a clear 5* but the place is let down by the glacially slow service in the restaurant. The food is fine but the slow service was baffling.

So, this review is in the main very positive. The hotel has recently undergone a fabulous transformation that has brought it right up to date. I stayed at this hotel pre-refurb and I have to say it’s like a new place. They’ve done an outstanding job and you can tell someone has spent serious money here. We also got a really warm welcome from the two ladies on the reception desk. All was well, they recognised my status and as usual when staying in a CP brand they upgraded us to a Club room. All good..until I tried to use the Club lounge. Ah. This is where I experienced my first negative aspect of staying at a CP, ever. I get upgraded all the time at these places - generally I find IHG are great at doing status especially at Crowne Plaza and Intercontinental (as well as holding IHG Platinum I’m also an IHG Ambassador member) so I tend to stay loyal to that brand, where it’s practical, location-wise. But, Crowne Plaza in Leeds does not let you use the Club lounge if you are upgraded to a Club room. I queried the lounge access as I had never, ever, come across this before. Usually Club room means just that, Club-everything. It even said so in the room reservation (see screenshot from my phone). But, the hotel re-enforced the point that if you get a Club upgrade based on status, you’re not entitled to use the Club lounge. Now, to be fair to the hotel, they knew I wasn’t happy and the receptionist did offer to add status for the first night of our stay. I also spoke to the Operations Director the next day and his point is that if they give Club access to Club upgrades, the lounge would be over capacity and I do get that - the Club lounge at Manchester Airport CP is often bursting at the seams (but it’s a very small lounge). That said, I can’t get a straight answer out of IHG on a firm policy so we are where we are, as they say. By contrast, Hilton Gold (I also have that) have a very clear, documented policy stating that if you are upgraded to an Exec. Room with them, you do get access. The CP Leeds Ops Director did give us a bottle of wine for our trouble and did give us access to the lounge on the Saturday evening as well. So again, on balance, a very nice chap who did take the time to sit down and talk to us. He also said they get very few complaints generally which I can absolutely believe - they are nice people and the hotel is very nice since the refurbishment. So, overall, would I stay here again. Well, yes, I would. It’s just a pity that a) there is inconsistency as to how CP seem to assimilate the policy (or if you base it on my experience, it is just this hotel) and b) to validate my argument, my expectations were not set correctly - you only need to see the reservation description below to see that. Finally, you might read this review and think “why is going on about this lounge”. Well the simple answer is that when you spend as much time in hotels as I do, the little things matter, especially when it’s a rare weekend away your other half. When I queried the policy with IHG their response was “we do value your loyalty”..hmmm...

I stayed here for one night on my own while I was in Leeds for work. First impressions were great, very neat and tidy and the staff were very friendly. Checked in easily and went to my room where again I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely big room, very clean and modern. The best thing was the lavender and chamomile pillow mist that was on the bedside table! Had a comfortable night - great bedding. Breakfast was buffet style with loads of choice. Was very tasty - none of the cooked stuff was that horrible overcooked mushy way that buffet breakfast sometimes is. If I am in Leeds again I will be back as it was very quiet for being in the city centre.

Stayed for my sons birthday it was excellent from the moment we arrived the room was spacious and clean the hotel was very relaxing with a great bar/lounge area. The spa facilities were great and kids welcome to use pool etc.. On the morning of my sons birthday he was given muffins with candles and the lady on reception got him a kinder egg on the way to work the staff go over and beyond at this hotel to make your stay a good one totally recommend the hotel and will certainly return soon

Where to start? The Crowned Plaza is an easy 10 min walk from the train station. We arrived at 11, wanting to leave our cases before we checked in later. We were helped by Patrice who was both polite, friendly and said she would allocate our 2 rooms near each other. Bags sadly tagged and left with reception we headed off. We then checked back in at 330pm. Bags easily found and again served by Patrice. We had 2 club rooms as part of our booking which meant access to the Club lounge and free use of pool/gym. Unlimited drinks and snacks in the lounge after 530pm! Our rooms were on the 5th floor. Large, clean, fridge ( we had brought our own bubbly). Dressing gown and slippers were also provided. Comfy bed. Heating just right. We headed down to the lounge at 730 and had a couple of drinks and snacks before our night out. Lovely. Breakfast in the morning as served til 1100. Buffer style with a good choice. We didn't feel rushed and lingered over our coffee. We checked out and again left our cases to collect later. All in all a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend. Better than that would stay there again.

Ten minutes walking distance from Leeds station the Crowne Plaza is not much to look at from the outside but once inside it is clear this hotel is well looked after and regularly upgraded. Check in was fast with a very friendly desk agent that checked us in and was quick to recognise my status and the benefits I would receive during the stay. It’s not greatly important but shows they look at your account and stays with the chain. Suite was very modern, very clean and offered all the amenities you would require during a stay. Very comfortable bed and good standard sofa bed for the 3rd guest in the room. Beautiful modern bathroom with nice shower. Breakfast was plentiful and staff very attentive. Only visited the Club Lounge for a short time but soft drinks, snacks and fruit included. All in all a great stay in a very clean and modern hotel. Looking forward to the next visit.

I've stayed at the Crowne Plaza Leeds a lot over the last 8 months. It is in a great location and very clean and tidy inside. The reception area and bar area is smart and check in and check out has always been very efficient. The rooms are excellent and I always have a good nights sleep, very quiet rooms, very comfortable beds and the en-suite facilities are excellent with good toiletries. The food is very good and service in the bar, restaurant or room service is always prompt and efficient. Breakfast is excellent with loads of choice, juices, fruit, cereals, cold meat and cheeses, pastries and of course full English, breakfast in here will set you up for the whole day. The best thing about this hotel is the staff, I know most of them by name and they are always cheerful, smiling and greet me by name or wave if I am walking across the other side of the lobby. Given the amount of nights I have spent in the hotel, occasional issues will sometimes crop up, however the speed with which the staff fix the problem and to my full satisfaction is a testament to their high level of customer service. While working away from home a lot does take it's toll, this is a brilliant hotel to relax and when I have spoken to other guests, whether they are away for business or leisure they always say how great they are also finding their stay.

Arrived at hotel, book in not until 3pm, we were early but could use all facilities, staff very friendly, room very comfortable, complimentary newspaper, safe, hairdryer, iron and board, air con very good, no noise, breakfast was very nice, full English or continental. We ate dinner in the restuarant which was very nice, would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely visit again
