Stayed here twice as convienient for the airport but won’t be again. Should have learn my lesson the first time. Worst hotel I have stayed in, in the UK. Here’s why. The receptionist is rude and very unfriendly when you check in. My first stay I thought maybe an off day but exactly the same the next time. The rooms are dated and in need of a refurb. For the price you pay however, I expected as much so wasn’t my biggest concern. That would be that the rooms are cold. On both stays I woke up freezing. Poor insulation and heating was barely on. The food in the cafe is really bad. Don’t eat it. The WiFi is even worse. Drops out after about a minute. Signal and speed both very poor, don’t expect fast WiFi when it’s free but if you can’t even check emails then what’s the point. Just so I’m not completely slating the hotel there are some good points. The hotel is in a great location for the airport, the car parking is free, the rooms are cheap and the food didn’t make me ill. Britannia management, I don’t expect you to renovate the hotel when your rates are cheap but please look at your staff morale because it’s very low, when staff are not happy. It shows. Improve your customer service, sort out your WiFi and improve the food menu and your half way there !
Very busy hotel. Provides overnight accommodation for travellers. Accommodation ok. Staff were very helpful/ Bar ok and reasonably price. You could sit outside in good weather. You can walk into the village from here, and a nice couple of bars there.
Stayed at Britannia hotel for a over night stay as we had a early flight. Paid £34 for a double room which was very clean and comfortable our first impression of hotel was good quick check in was offered a early wake up call too. I ordered food from the bar which wasn't that great was served cold, we decided to have a few beverages in the bar that evening and was told that the Carlsberg pump was off which wasn't a problem we just chose something else during this time the girl serving behind the bar did apologise but we felt there were staffing issues as the barmaid was getting angry as non of her colleagues were helping her out with this situation as someone who works in hospitality it could if been handled better seeing staff argueing isn't at all professional the Carlsberg situation was later resolved so my partner bought couple of drinks (carlsberg) the beer was off so I took it back to the bar and explained it didn't taste right also a man at the bar said the same thing she did apologise but there wasn't any refund given and had to pay for another drink poor customer service again!! Other than this we had a good night's sleep and for the price we paid was generally happy. We had a walk out to the fox and hounds 5min walk up the hill great lil local pub very friendly staff and locals.
We stayed for an early flight from Leeds Bradford. Poor stressed receptionist had problems with card machine our booking that had come through for only 1 person instead of 2 beer barrels wrong ! On the room it was very small bathroom not enough towels although put right later threadbare carpets and mould on the tiles in the bathroom. The TV was tiny my I Pad is nearly as big although it did work. Very thin quilt on the bed with no extra blankets available even though we asked. The food was awful Luke warm soup and the main course looked like it had been out at least a week. Only paid £10 for 3 courses so didn’t expect much. Hotel was barely full so did expect better rooms then we had in short would I stay there again no very unlikely.
We have stayed here on at least 4 occasions before and the ONLY reason we come back is because I do business nearby and it’s cheap and I always live in hope that they have improved. First the room was nice and clean and had a small refit from our last visit (3*).... Now when I say ‘improvement’ I do not just mean the property but the staff and how they deal with the ‘customer’ - that’s us!! So we stayed for two nights, booked on line in advance and arrived ‘early’ at 11.30am as we had meetings from 12.30 for the rest of the afternoon. The very first and most important question for us was “does the room have a really good Wi-fi signal? It’s really important as I need to work over the next few days” Answer - “Yes, absolutely- all the rooms in the 5th floor have great reception”. This was stated with great confidence and authority. “Can I just check that out” “Sorry but the room hasn’t been cleaned yet” So whilst we were booked in I left the hotel for our meetings getting back about 5.30, moving in bag and baggage and having been travelling/ working since 6.00am we unpacked - making the rookie mistake of not checking the most important Wi-fi. So guess what hardly a single portion of signal. Now we were offered to change rooms, but it would have meant repacking and we did have 3G and a single dot Wi-fi so we stayed. It was suggested I Email the Operations Management- so me... is your own Manager not interested??? Next point - why oh why oh why do staff tell you something which is not true...?? The room was at the furthest point from the Wi-fi boosters that it could possibly be, there was no way we were going to get anything like a decent signal - The staff should not ‘lie’ - IF you don’t know just say so ..!! Don’t lie to customers it is the road to doom So - people, read the reviews, read my reviews, I think I am honest with them and most of all if you stay for the Airport - CHECK THE ROOM FIRST...! For me - I’m scheduled at least 14 trips here in the next 10 months, 28 nights at £50 per night / £1,400.00 of my Money that will not be going into your pockets!! But at least I can always email you..!!
After reading the reviews on here we approached our stay with trepidation. We were wrong, our stay at this hotel was great.. the staff were lovely, food was excellent, maid service very good, in fact the staff couldn’t do enough to maximize our enjoyment. Entertainment each evening & enjoyed the spa very much.. were hoping to go to other Britannia hotels & definately coming to Bramhope again. See you all soon...
We had an overnight stay at this hotel which was clean, comfortable and warm. The bedroom was very nice, bathroom clean, kettle, towels, etc all in place, comfortable beds. The staff were helpful and pleasant, the evening meal was okay not as hot as I would have liked but the breakfast was very good. Good value for money
One night stay and a weeks parking while on holiday. We booked the three course meal for the evening too. Food wasn’t the greatest (soup was lovely, turkey and potatoes weren’t cooked and crumble was tasteless) but for £12.50 what can you expect. The room was too hot during the night, but the hotel had clearly tried to make the room more comfortable with it being so cold outside so we shouldn’t complain. Comfortable bed, decently priced so no major complaints. You get what you pay for, a decent nights sleep before an early morning flight. £112 for two people to eat, sleep, park and be transferred to and from the airport.
Really poor hotel. Stayed on New Years Eve 2017 to be close to home of family. Threadbare carpets, poor heating, non working TV. We were told that Breakfast would be available until 13.00 on New Years Day - it consisted of a curry buffet and a few undercooked sausages. Chef wouldn't do poached eggs because eggs are only available before 10am. £83 for room and £20 for breakfast - an absolute rip off.
we had an early morning flight so decided to book here (£35.00 per room, room only). The hotel is pleasant, clean and certainly well worth what we paid. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We ate in the bar which is need of some modernisation. Food was good, however the server seemed more interested in conversations in the kitchen and could have been a little bit more attentive.
