We have used this hotel many times We find it adequate for a stay & fly with parking & find it good value for money, Bar & restaurant a little pricey but it’s to be expected for a hotel They offer a taxi shuttle which can be pre booked & never had an issue, Works great We have found the staff very friendly & courteous
Stayed here the night with missus and the kid as an overnight for Leeds airport. The Room The room was a fair size but cold and radiators were poor barely gave any heat off. Bathroom was very dated and bit dirty to be honest the room was a let down. I gave this place a 3 mainly for location to airport which taxi was £8 and for the bar. Bar had really nice food cheap beer and was very welcoming
On arrival no heating in the room. Thermostat would not work. After reporting it twice we eventually got a small portable heater, but it took ages to warm the room and had to get into the bed under the duvet to keep warm. The bathroom was unclean. Hair on the rubber bath mat, in the bath, on the tiles and on the floor. The dust on the extractor over the toilet was that thick it could not have been cleaned for months.The following morning breakfast should have been 06:30 at 07:00 no lights in the dining room, but the food was under the heat lamps. I had to find a member of staff to open up the dining room. The floor was covered in remnants of food obviously from the previous day. The food was dried up and inedible. The waitress was late and despite being in the dining room since 07:00 a.m. we did not get anything hot to drink until almost 07:30. In our overnight stay I only saw members of staff a Receptionist, a chef and a waitress. Will never use a Britannia Hotel again.
Stayed here night before flying off on holiday, i cant really comment on the facilities because we didnt use any, so can only comment on our room, which was a little shabby really, well past its sell by date, and the bathroom wasnt very clean at all, it was only for 1 night but you still expect cleanliness, tiles were coming off in the bathroom you wouldnt have wanted to lay in the bath, also you become accustomed to the fact hotel walls are thin abroad but these must have been paper thin because when the couple next door came back to their room after a meal or drink we could clearly hear every word they said to each other which unfortunately included when they decided to have a a bit of passion, i thought the noises she made only happened in films. thats not the hotels fault of course but i doubt i would stay here next time we have an early flight.
We had a huge room and one of the few accessible family rooms I have ever seen. The prices for food and drink are very reasonable. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice. It's very popular with tour buses for some reason which means it can get busy but the staff seemed well prepared
cheap and cheerful and a pretty decent hotel, the lady on reception was very friendly as was a girl on the bar, didnt catch their names, the bar girl was coping really well as was busy yet there were about 4 staff in the restaurant not doing much atall ! We got a bar meal which was plentiful and decent and a good price too as were the drinks, room was fine and clean.
Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, staff were friendly. Breakfast good choices and acceptable standard. Reasonable value. Basics ticked. BUT. Fire doors were propped open (I closed them but they were just propped open again). Management NEED to sort that as a priority. Window wouldn't close (not fixed although reported), heating couldn't be adjusted so too hot (despite open window). Fabulous view but blocked by extra bed. Decor needs refreshing. It has the potential to be fantastic but needs to pay attention to important details (see above).
I have already submitted a complaint to the hotel & have had no response what so ever ! I thought give them chance to reply, but it has now been over a month & frankly I am shocked that they cannot even be bothered to answer a complaint! An I'm going display of their frankly terrible customer service. We used the park & stay option when flying out from Leeds airport as we had a very early morning flight. The stay was fine, the rooms were clean & I can't say anything bad about that. The taxi arrived in the morning fine, although was a few minutes late it wasn't anything to be concerned about & we were given a slip which confirmed our payment for the way back. I purposefully enquired about the process on the way back as I knew different places had different rules. I was told that they keep an eye on your flights and that there would be a taxi waiting for us on out arrival into Leeds airport and we were to make our way to the taxi rank & They would collect us from there. This did not happen. After waiting for 20 mins I went inside to enquire about our taxi to be told "not to be daft" They don't pre book taxis for people & that it was going to be an hour's wait! I booked because what else could I do we needed to get back to the hotel & not knowing Leeds we didn't know any other firms to try. My partner then got on the phone to the hotel which is charged at a fortune! (Ended up costing him 5.50 for a 3 minute phone call!) To be told that they have called the taxi rank & the next taxi would be ours. Go back inside to speak to them & they haven't had a call from the hotel at all ! We had been fobbed off ! Luckily the taxi only took about 40 mins not the hour that I was told, but all in all we had waiting about an hour & a half before we even got back to our car to make the 2 hour journey home. Frankly I am disgusted at the lack of customer service displayed by your hotel & the lack of organisation. When you are tired from flying the last thing you want is to be messed around when you land ! However I think what I am more surprised at is that you don't even have the courtsey to reply to a complaint. I will never use your hotels again, this or any other & I would advise people not to use this service as it is an unorganized mess.
We stayed for a couple of nights on a trip to dales. Room was decent enough, although beds felt very hard - even the little ones who sleep well - didn't. Food was not good, quite bland and not much taste, with the exception of breakfast it was a definite thumbs down. We made sure the little ones ate when we were out through the day and gave them things we had bought in the room, later. Staff were really nice and helpful but overall I wouldn't stay again.
we stop at hotel just the one night as part of a coach party. the room was okay but needed a few repairs but it was comfortable enough.staff were very friendly , the only thing what let the stay down was the quality of the food , i believe you get what you pay for,but the food wasnt edible, so i never bothered with breakfast the next morning
