Stayed here for one night before flying from Gatwick and it was excellent. The room was spotless and well decorated with two large comfy beds. The bar was lively with a good atmosphere serving good tasty food. Would recommend.
This is the third time my wife and I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Gatwick Worth before a flight from Gatwick South Terminal. On each occasion we have had a hassle-free booking and check-in, friendly staff, spotless, comfortable room, very reasonable supper in the restaurant, easy transfer to the airport (excellent Metro Cabs - rate negotiated by the Hotel - £11.50/trip) and excellent value for the on-site parking. What is more, you get to use the gym and fitness facilities at the Nuffield Health Club next door. I can't fault that - £90.10 for an executive room and 15 days on-site parking. Will look no further next time I fly from Gatwick South
I stayed here for four nights to attend a business course held on the premises. When I checked in, there was a stain on the runner on the bed; it looked like dried blood. I had to ask for this to be changed as it was not replaced when the room was cleaned. The bed was very uncomfortable, far too soft, no lumbar support at all. I asked at reception if anything could be done (for example, a board under the mattress) but no action was taken. I considered sleeping on the floor but the carpet felt "crunchy" underfoot in some areas. The bath was chipped. The frame on the bathroom mirror was damaged and tatty-looking. The basin was slow to drain; in fact the plug floated in the water when the tap was turned on and it was necessary to flush through with hot water from the kettle. The second bed (it was a twin room) had upholstery staples clearly visible on the side. This could have presented a risk getting in and out of bed. The colour scheme was pleasing to the eye, and the curtains were well lined so that daylight did not shine through in the early morning. There was a kettle, TV, iron and an ironing board; free wifi is also available. It is disappointing that the initial impression on entering the room was not matched by comfort and cleanliness. The only reason this review did not have one star is that some of the staff went out of their way to be helpful, even though they were busy with the event which was for over one hundred people. The chairs supplied for the course did not have table attachments which would have been useful for delegates writing notes. I would not choose to stay here again.
The hotel was easy to find and the room large and clean. What ruined the stay was one of the Receptionists calling our room early in the morning to ask if we had called them (we hadn’t). It woke us both up and we couldn’t get back to sleep so decided to check out. We had a late night so were looking forward to a lie in. I appreciate mistakes happen, but this was really quite frustrating.
We went for an afternoon tea and I was incredibly disappointed with their service. They were rude and very inconsiderate. I asked for a child's afternoon tea also for my daughter which they didn't give but then tried to add the charge of it onto the Bill! I was very disappointed. Never going back again.
I Stay at ihg hotels all the time as I like the standard of there hotels the brand and I always have a great stay and know what I am getting, hence why I am now a spire elite member. I stayed at this hotel last week for 2 nights, and can honestly say it is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. on the 1st morning I was woken at 06.50 am with room doors banging and people speaking in loud conversations . I thought this was customers that had woken early and had no regard for hotel guests , this went on for 25 mins, I got up at 07.15 opened the door to see what was the cause of the noise and found 3 cleaners outside my room having a full blown chat and banging doors as they cleaned the rooms. On the 2nd night I phoned down to order some food and was told there was a power cut and no food was available apart from sandwiches, I could not watch TV or have no heating from 19.30 until 23.05, the power for the whole hotel went off between 22.15 and 23.05 no back up power supply. I raised these issues with the staff on check out and was told because the hotel is located near a airport the cleaners start at 06.30. I pointed out when staying at a hotel whatever the location I expect to sleep in and not be awoken by cleaners so early , especially when I was working in my room until 02..00 am. . To be honest the lady I dealt with on check out was very nice and under stable but said she will get the manager to phone me when he arrives later that da at 15.00, i received no call by 17.00 so phoned the hotel to be told he was busy so i left my details again.. He phoned me at 18.30 and said he was sorry and he understands my issues and will have a word with the cleaners and this was caused as there office was near my room. He offered me 5000 points to apologise for 2 very very poor nights stay, I pointed out it costs 20000 points to stay at this hotel each night , and after having 2 nights terrible stay this was not good enough. He then says this is all he can offer as he is only the reception manager and should contact the hotel manager. No sorry I should not have to contact anyone he should contact me . I don't like leaving bad reviews, rarely do and hardly complain, but due to this awful stay , staff not trained to deal with a power cut, cleaners told to clean from 06.45 and a manager that clearly cannot manage his team or has any customer service training I felt it right to decline his offer of 5000 points and instead share this review with other guests .
Stayed one night prior to flight. Service in restaurant was awful. Power cut half way through and staff and duty manager had no idea how to react. Obviously not trained and no advice or assistance offered to customers. Bar area cold. Not a good way to start a holiday.
Stayed for one night, parked for 11 nights. Was really simple. Hotel booked a taxi which is a set fee of £11.50 and a 15 minute journey to the terminals. Car was safe and not moved offsite. Highly recommend.
I stayed here recently with my husband, nice remote area and not to far from Gatwick if there’s no traffic, rooms were very clean and looked modern. On arrival felt very welcomed by a lovely young lady who helped us without any issue. Restaurant food was very high standards, a little bit pricey but was fully worth it in the end, or waitress was a youngish girl who I believe name is Cherise, no problem was to big for her, she was very caring and lovely to talk to. This gave us an insight of the customer and worker relationship this place has. I would recommend this place and will sure to visit again.
We've stayed here as a family several times when travelling to and from Gatwick, including leaving our vehicle on site, and every time the stays have been great. Reception welcome professional and friendly, all our silly questions dealt with by informative and knowledgeable staff. Rooms clean and modern, well maintained and comfortable, good beds as well! Last time we stayed my wife left a dress behind, when we realised several weeks later I called and it was located and returned by post very quickly. Claire and Rakesh sorted it all out and were a real credit to the hotel with the way they looked after the item and got it back to us so quickly - thank you!
