Loved this hotel, lovely restaurant, great rooms!! Would definitely stay again. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Exceptionally clean. Travel to Gatwick regularly and this is so far my favourite
we stayed as a family of 6 the night before our trip to the Bahamas. couldn't have wished for a better start...warm, clean, modern & friendly hotel right from the entrance.Cannot fault the friendliness of the staff who showed genuine interest in where you are going, where you came from and how was the journey. The bistro served great food with a varied menu, enough to please every one..served in good time & no pressure to order extra sides or desserts.... we would certainly make this a next stop over when in the area
I traveled up to Gatwick the night before my early morning flight to Madeira. We chose this hotel because the accommodation along with a weeks parking in their car park was a very reasonable price. The taxi from the hotel to Gatwick is £11.50. I really have nothing bad to say at all. The room was clean and up to date. Very comfortable beds and the bathroom looked like it had not long been decorated. The bar area is comfortable and welcoming. I will definitely go again.
Stayed here overnight prior to flying from Gatwick early the next morning. Hotel was a bit out the way but nice and modern. Room large and very pleasant - all amenities you would expect. Secure car park was very full but found a space. Nice bar by reception, well stocked with plenty of seating. The restaurant looked nice - table service and a good menu but I didn’t eat there. Would stay again.
It’s such a huge shame to write this as I actually really enjoyed the hotel room itself. The room was clean and comfortable and I really couldn’t fault it. Unfortunately myself and my friend noticed the attitude of the staff towards us from the moment we arrived and left (and afterwards!) was totally shocking. We stayed here as we came up from Wales to visit Tulley’s Farm and the hotel was nearby, we only stayed for one night. We were asked if we wanted breakfast and as myself and my friend were unsure as we had to leave to head back home very early so thought we might stop at the services instead, we were told that my card would be ‘swiped’ (which I always thought meant preauthorised, like the majority of hotels do), and that if we did decide to have breakfast in the morning we could just go straight in and they’d charge us afterwards. We decided not to have breakfast at the hotel in the end and stopped at the services. However a few days after we returned, I noticed my card had been charged for breakfasts that we didn’t have. I contacted the hotel as soon as I saw this and at first the member of staff I spoke to was very apologetic and cooperative, advising that they would look into this and also check CCTV to ensure we didn’t have breakfast. A few hours later, I received a call from a different member of staff who began straight away with a very argumentative tone, accusing us of definitively telling them that we wanted breakfast (which we didn’t), and was very hostile and blunt towards me, basically arguing at me and trying to tell me that we did have breakfast there. Even though if they actually looked at the CCTV they’d know that wasn’t the case!! Out of all my hotel stays this one has definitely been one of the worst in terms of staff behaviour, in all fairness the first member of staff I spoke to on the phone couldn’t have been nicer, but the staff member who rung me back a few hours later was totally shocking to me and I was very taken back by her harsh tone even when I was just asking her why I’d been charged for something I didn’t have. And I’m still waiting for them to check the CCTV! If you want a genuinely nice, all round hotel experience (including staff that don’t talk down to you or add on charges that you didn’t have) then unfortunately this is definitely not the place to stay. Which is a real shame because the rooms themselves are great, the staff have just really let this trip down.
Last minute booking, got a great price and an executive room upgrade..., but shine soon went when I got in room as it is near a large chiller unit or boiler or some other heavy industrial equipment that made a huge reverberating sound... Quickly was given another room and I enjoyed the rest of my stay . lady on front desk was great working to move me.... Avoid room 262 and possibly the ones each side....to be honest the noise made the room not humanly habitable unless you are deaf.
Came here for afternoon tea as it had been recommended to us. First off, I went to reception to be very rudely told you need to go over there to the right and not here. Would of been nice to of been greeted with at least a hello. We were shown to the table and offered tea or coffee. The coffee wasn’t overly warm but ok. We had to wait a good 15mins before the food arrived. We had to ask for the glasses of sparkling wine ( which was pre ordered) Sandwiches were ok, would be nice to have a choice of whole meal sandwiches. The scones were delightful as were the cakes. On leaving the hotel car park, we had to go back in and ask how we leave the car park as this hadn’t been explained to us when we arrived. On the whole, I didn’t feel that the staff were very friendly or informative. Refresher in customer service would come in handy.
We stayed here for the second time this year and had the best room so far it was amazing sorry i cant remember the room number but it was upstairs and was an L shaped room. As usual the room was spotless as was the bathroom, we also had bottled water and plenty of tea/coffee a lovely touch, after a good nights sleep we went down for breakfast which is always excellent a hot and cod buffet with a huge choice even for the fussiest of eaters, all staff we encountered were polite and helpful, we have stayed here 6 times now and will be booking again in june next year, we recommended this hotel to our freinds who also have booked their third visit see you all soon x
Booked afternoon tea, for 5, which you have to do online. They will not take reservations over the phone. But beware as the advertised price of 12.50 increases to 14.50 when they take payment. They refused to refund the difference. Not a nice way to do business.
Stayed at this holiday inn with family on route to south coastal mini break and I couldn't fault this hotel. Really easy to find off the M23, easy parking arrangements, warm welcome at check-in, huge family room with two double beds, room and bathroom were spotless, dinner, wine & service was top quality, restaurant is really spacious, a decent nights sleep for all the family, powerful shower and piping hot water, lots of choice at breakfast, easy check-out. 10 out of 10, a very well run hotel.
