Very comfortable stay. Breakfast very good and staff very attentive. Easy to find and great value for money. Very welcoming and nice quiet hotel. Staff great could not fault anything. Nice and handy for gatwick

We stayed here the night before an early morning flight from Gatwick. This hotel had everything we needed . Staff were welcoming and efficient both on arrival and departure. Room was spotlessly clean , very comfortable bed and pillows , good TV and wifi. Tea and coffee making facilities in room , and well equipped bathroom .with good shower. Even though we had a very early start , ( 4am ) , breakfast was available for us . Well done Holiday Inn !! Would recommend.

This was last minute booking because of the weather, we normally stay at the Premier Inn but it was fully booked. Booking was easy and there was a very friendly welcome at reception. The room was a good size, the bathroom was very nice with modern fittings and looked as if it had been refurbished fairly recently. Bizarrely the bathroom door had a narrow frosted glass panel, meaning if someone used the bathroom during the night the bedroom would be flooded with light. Just seems a bit strange. The bed was a standard double size which we think is unusual these days, especially as Holiday Inn Express is in direct competition with Premier Inn whose rooms all have king size beds. Unfortunately it wasn't just the size of the bed that was the issue, it was very springey. The effect was that of a trampoline as one person moved on the bed the other was bounced into the air! I called reception to ask if we could change the room because of the bed and was told that all the beds were the same. We later found this was not the case and were told the matresses/beds were being renewed and we must have got one of the 'old springey ones'.The result was a very poor nights sleep. Breakfast was fine with a reasonable choice, all help yourself. The car park was £7.00 a night as stated on the confirmation. The Harvester was a 2 minute walk across the car park. The food was OK, standard Harvester fare. We had a lovely waitress, which improved the experience. The drive to Gatwick North took 7 minutes the next morning so ideal for the airport. We would consider staying here again if the price was reasonable. However, we would probably book a twin room to ensure we were able to get a reasonable nights sleep.

We stayed here the night before we flew. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. The room we had was a twin and was a very good size on the ground floor. The bathroom drains were a bit smelly and the bathroom door also was a door for the toilet and the lock was the wrong side which was a bit weird. It wasn’t noisy like most airport hotels. The WiFi was very good, the heating was not the best, it was a fan heater above the door which was intermittent. Breakfast was ok, not a lot of hot choice, but plenty and hot all the same. Location was good for the airport and purple parking which was only a couple of miles away.

Absolutely fantastic hotel... Booked it as a package, a very economical package with Purple Parking via Holiday Extras on our way to California via Gatwick Airport. One of the cleanest, hassle free hotels I have ever stayed in and I completely, 100% will recommend them to anyone travelling via Gatwick and will certainly use this hotel again myself. Breakfast was awesome, just what we needed to set us up for our 10 hour flight.

This is a good budget hotel with clean rooms and some great staff who were on the whole hugely helpful and good natured. The rooms are fine - basic and,on the whole, clean although if I don’t think I would fancied a night on the sofa bed given some of the stains on it (obviously the hotel would make it up properly but ta definitely the sort of thing that would make me a bit twitchy). The window in my room didn’t close completely which meant there was a draft and quite a lot of traffic noise. Luckily snow overnight meant that there was a significant drop in traffic volume which meant I had a good night’s sleep! I didn’t try the breakfast so can’t comment on that. There is a Harvester restaurant next to the hotel and the hotel itself has drinks and hot food dispensers as well as a basic bar so you could survive by not going outside. It is a way from Gatwick (despite the name) but there seem to be buses running on a regular basis to and from the hotel.

If not a last minute booking, this was certainly 11th hour, as on Friday evening we learnt we had to be in Newhaven early on Sunday morning. Booking was easy. and using some points meant we only paid £21 for this stay. The hotel is well located for the main trunk roads (and presumably the airport). and has a good sized car park (£7/night). As I've come to expect with HIE reception is efficient, staff helpful, every thing clean and user friendly. Likewise our room. Breakfast was exactly as you'd expect from Holiday Inn and very quiet and relaxing; indeed, given the half term holiday and proximity to Gatwick I was surprised how quiet this hotel seemed in terms of guests. There is a Harvester across the car park which we used for our evening meal and is separately reviewed, but was fine for our requirements. I would caution a couple of things; I didn't bother to sort the room aircon system out properly before we went to bed, and didn't sleep well accordingly, so that's me being lazy not a hotel criticism, and also I was to lazy to get up and start battling with it through the night! Therefore i would advocate setting it up before "you" retire for the night! In the throes of not sleeping well because of being alternately over hot/or cold; it was apparent that the rooms like ours which are front & car park facing can be noisy. It was above the reception door which I could hear; I was also aware of some airplane movements, noisy motorbikes, late pub leavers and early seagulls! Just a consideration; but otherwise all good and thank you for our stay HIE London Gatwick-Crawley.

We've just checked in to this hotel with the help of Adam (thank you :)) our room is amazing, nice and clean and spacious. Plenty of car parking although the streets of Crawley are bizarre and the Sat Nav went crazy! So far, so good. We booked via and got a great price for the room. Looking forward to the breakfast tomorrow

For business or leisure trips this venue is ideal for Gatwick Airport. Quiet and central with a large car park we stayed for one night and left the car for 10 days at a minimum charge. Some websites say that there is a shuttle bus to the airport but this is not correct, United Cars run a taxi service for 12GBP. Standard Holiday Inn Express rooms, reception and breakfast. Recommended. But do not use the Harvester Restaurant nearby, terrible.

This hotel is good for low cost business travel. Good location, clean with free parking. The rooms are well proportioned and the shower in the room was hot and had decent power. Staff helpful. Bar popular in the evening.
