This hotel has a lovely grounds with an outdoor swimming pool as well as one with the gym. It has outdoor chess, croquet, putting green and new this year two table tennis tables. Some of the rooms get very hot and the garden rooms are a long, long walk from reception and the restaurant/bar. We stay here every year and the menu this year was very disappointing. There is only a set menu, no al la carte. The quality was not at its best , Breakfast on Friday was very busy and the staff had problems coping with the numbers wishing to partake. Coffee served in the lounge/bar was in very heavy cups and just too large! I could not easily lift with one hand!! Previously it was Costa coffee and very good. The staff were very friendly especially the restaurant manager Jo.
This was a two night short break with my husband. The drive up to the hotel was impressive, as were the beautiful grounds. The reception area is clean and bright, the check in quick and the receptionist friendly. It was only as we went up the wide staircase, that we could see that the carpet was tired looking. No lift to floors, so could be a problem for guests with mobility problems. The room was not as big as I imagined, but on saying that, it was comfortable and clean. Our room overlooked a small field, there were security bars on the lower part of the windows. It was a shame that were were unable to open the bottom window only the top one! No air conditioning but a desk fan. The television was large and had freeserve, the bed was fairly comfortable but creaked everytime you moved. One small wardrobe but was ok for just two nights, if we were staying longer would have not been adequate. The room had a small desk and chair. The breakfast was buffett service, good choice of packet cerials, continental and full English breakfast. The tea, coffee and juice were waiter service. The hotel has two swimming pools, one inside and one in the grounds, both heated. It also has a golf course and fitness centre. We would go back to this hotel, as it situated in an ideal location for visiting, Selsey, Arundel, Littlehampton etc.
This Hotel, has so much potential to be very good to excellent - great location, lovely grounds, and the staff are very friendly and helpful, but the room was just a little tired - bed comfy, but as usual with Hotels, the coffee and tea making facilities are tubes of coffee and sugar and the little squirty pots of long life milk - surely we can get past this - drives me to distraction, when you just want a nice drink upon arrival, the net curtains were shabby and not neat and well presented just the same the curtains, the bed was comfortable, but it was hot and the window hardly opened, so they had a fan, but an industrial fan which was so loud, I suppose we should have asked, but I just think it should work the other way - quality hotels (this is a Hilton) tend to think proactively rather than reactively. Also no extractor in the bathroom, again these things do frustrate me why they cannot be kept maintained. But otherwise, it was spacious, the grounds were nice, the breakfast plentiful, and the staff friendly again, so I cannot say it is very good or excellent, but it could be with some attention to detail which the place deserves - it's a lovely looking hotel !
Stayed here for short break. 2 nights bed and breakfast. When I say tired I mean tired!!! Urgent upgrade of fixtures and fittings in rooms required. Decor is old battered and dirty. Okay its an old building but have stayed in older... No mini bar in room.. But on second night by some miracle a fridge appeared... Not plugged in thou. Bit late now but they could have told us!!! Had to get shower sorted as not working properly and they repaired straight away.. forgot to repair light though. Fire Alarm test but wasn't told!!! and was left outside for 10 mins with only one other couple wondering what was going on!!! POOR SHOW. Facilities are old. BUT.... The staff we had contact with were very nice Bar/reception/breakfast staff. Breakfast really good value cereal's, pastries, full English. We went out to eat as there are lots of great pubs around so cannot comment on the main restaurant food. Not what you would expect from a HILTON shame on you!!! Not the Staffs fault but wouldn't recommend to anyone I know.
Can't fault any of the staff, although the bar did need at least one more. Stayed for one night in a deluxe room. Room a little dated but spacious. Had dinner and breakfast found the cooking standards to be very good. Didn't get chance to try leisure facilities. Very nice hotel and with bedroom upgrades would be excellent.
3 course meal for 2 for just £30.00 if you have a taste card. We have had two excellent meals saving 50% by using a tastecard. Nice location and restaurant overlooking gardens. For £30 good value- not sure I would feel the same if paid full price. Did not give 5 star review as I do not like an automatic service charge added to the bill of 8%- you can have it removed but I will tip well for good service if appropriate.

Visited with family group for dads 70th birthday weekend. We have been to this hotel over the years hence my dad wanted to come back. We had a great weekend but my feedback is as follows ... On the plus side ... 1) the hotel allows dogs which is really cute! 2) we had children. The weather was good this weekend and the outdoor pool, tennis course, croquet, putting green and outdoor chess and table tennis were a hit as was just running about in the garden. It's fun for kids and you feel they are welcome. On the negative 1) the hotel bedrooms desperately need refurbishment. They are very dated! It would be a shame if they refurbed them and didn't allow dogs! But I think they shouldn't let the hotel go too far under, hopefully a refurb is planned soon. 2) the pool policy is 1 adult per 2 children under 16 in the pool. This I can live with. What I don't agree with is the adult needing to be in the water too. If my children were drowning obviously I'd jump in, but I think this is over zealous. This is about Hilton covering themselves but it's not sensible. My children swim in many places with me supervising them from the poolside, I've never been told I need to be in the water too. I found this very frustrating. 3) there were two weddings at the hotel on the Saturday. It's fun to see the wedding guests. It's a bit odd when you're walking through the bar and a wedding is happening around you! I felt a bit like I was intruding but we had also paid to stay there. It wasn't a massive problem but I felt the staff were over stretched. Service at the bar is very slow and it takes ages to get served. 4) finally it's not cheap. A packet of crisps £1.50. I can't remember the other prices but all adds up. If the weather is nice the hotel is fun with kids. It is relaxing. We went to Arundel for a grown up meander in the shops, and Littlehampton nearby was well wort a visit with children to go crabbing. Some crazy golf, beach etc. I would go again, it's just a shame the hotel rooms don't match the expectations and the pool policy is over the top!
We stayed in the Garden Lodge and had two rooms both spacious and comfortable although it would benefit from a little tlc in places. There were a lot of options for entertaining the children with pool(s) table tennis, putting, petanque and others. We ate in the restaurant and whilst there was a delay with our food the dining room was panelled old school and nice.. People actually made an effort to dress for dinner The food itself was very good and even the childrens menu was attractive. e thought the one, two or three course option very good value. Wine soon jumped up in price but the standard sauvignon went down easily There was also a bar meal menu with further options. There was one member of bar staff who was very good in that when we sat at a vacant but messy table he came immediately cleared it all thoroughly, wiped everything and vacuumed all around. It was a little out of Arundel itself but fine for us. I only wish I had an opportunity to play the golf course as it looked inviting.
Unfortunately my partner booked this hotel and didn't really look at the reviews....big mistake!! He just went on the fact that it was a 'Hilton Hotel' and normally have a very good reputation. On arrival my first thought was beautiful location, however as we approached the hotel I noticed it had a very shabby exterior and in desperate need of a lick of paint and hoped that the interior wasn't the same! Well where do I start....chipped and dirty paintwork everywhere, dirty carpets and dated furniture, reminded me of something from the 1970's. The bedroom was cramped, stuffy, smelly and the decor appalling. The bed creaked and moaned every time I rolled over and kept me awake for most of the night, severely old and uncomfortable and should have been replaced 10 years ago!! This hotel is not cheap by any means and we expected more for the price we paid. Drinks were expensive, £16 for a single gin and large red wine!!! The only plus side to this one night stay was the dinner which was very nice but apart from that the whole experience was very disappointing! If you want luxury DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
