Stayed in the hotel for one night , it's as dire as people say. The parking is horrendous, in fact in a case of emergency I don't think you could get an ambulance or fire truck to the property , parking is better redefined as abandoned cars everywhere. It's so bad the hotel encourage you to park outside on the verge , that is so bad , the first time I drove past the hotel mistaking it for a travellers site. The room was horrid , rank , smelt of cheap new paint and on one of the hottest day s had no air con , I asked for a room change and was denied , you can't open the windows as they are locked ( to save people jumping) the floor was dirty hoovered but dirty , bathroom dirty , I was told centrally breakfast at 530but hotel said 630 so left with no breakfast having paid for it . Would I stay again ? No way

Car park was jammed full on arrival. Room was dingy and dirty. Shower had to be forced on and was filthy. Towels dirty and hand towel had a hole in it. Air con did not work. TV aerial was not plugged in and the aerial lead was too short to reach the aerial socket. Luckily the room was part of a parking deal as paying £155 per night would have been totally unacceptable. The worst hotel I've ever stayed in at Gatwick.

If you don't want to read the long story below - here's the short one..... *Parking is a nightmare. *The rooms are really stinky, tired and generally quite grubby and make you feel dirty! *It was a challenge to stay there over night!!! * The smell gets steadily worse and you can almost taste it! *Dont do it - if you're on a budget - sleep in your car!!! My boyfriend and I stayed overnight before a flight the next day. We booked a cheap hotel as we were only in the room 6hrs before a flight the following morning so we were expecting budget hotel! But there's budget and there's total nastiness! On arrival, parking is chaotic! The rules for parking are - find a space, any space, verge, curb, tree or corner ......big enough for your vehicle and just leave it there no matter what! The reception area was ok on first glance.... and the gentleman on the desk was helpful. The first room we were given was god awful! Between reception and the rooms there is a long corridor with lots of fire doors every so many rooms. Our room was in a small section of corridor between to fire doors close together and the corridor smelt very bad of fusty and stale smoke! Once we opened the door to the room the smell was incredible! Old smoke and damp hit you like a brick! We called reception and the gentleman didn't hesitate - he came down to us and put us in the room next door! The second room initially smelt better but once you had been in it for a while the smell started to rise! The gentlemen said all rooms are smoked in because it's home from home and so people can get away with it so they just supply ash trays! Both rooms were old, tired and dated! The mattress was lumpy as hell and the one single pillow was lumpy too!!! The cups and saucers were dirty and stained! The TV didn't work. Generally very dusty everywhere and really stinky!!! The bath room was tired, the bath worn and old - but on the upside the shower had good water pressure..... it's just you can't ever feel clean in here!!!!! We couldn't wait to get out to fresh air!!!!

This is the worst hotel I've stayed in by quite a long way, the room was filthy. The beds smelled as though wet dogs had been sleeping on them and the bathroom floor reeked of urine. The carpet also stank, so we had to carry our baby at all times as we couldn't put him on the floors. It was 30 degrees and no air con. We also had he misfortune of being put next to one of the heavy corridor doors that banged all night. We could hear every footstep of the people about us and with the window open the nearby motorway was understandably very noisy. We didn't try the food. Our short time talking to staff at check in was pleasant. The parking is horrendous. People forced to park on verges and in every nook and cranny. You couldn't go out for risk of loosing your space. We went for a 3 mile walk and only happened across a couple of not very nice looking pubs, a small coop and a fish b chip shop. This hotel is aimed at people using the airport and at £100 a night seemed like a cheap (!) option, but next time I'd rather spend double than come here again.

Ever had one of those days where you feel like all the joy has been sucked out of your soul by the place you are in and people you are around? Welcome to the Europa. We came with two cars. Left one in a tree and the other up a grass verge littered with discarded wine bottles. And yes, this is the hotel car park. The 2 check ins before us had prolonged arguments with the staff. After 30 minutes waiting we felt we were owed an argument too. I genuinely fear for the mental well being off the staff having to battle with everyone they check in. Apparently car parking isn't guaranteed unless you book direct. However if you find a tree it's free to park in it... They asked if wanted breakfast. Any longer at check in we would have needed it. I declined based on the £11 price tag and the haunting clip board behind the desk with 'breakfast upsell' written on the top. The list below was blank. Odd that...

The place is very dirty through out, very tired, & nothing has been invested in the hotel since it first opened. It is almost impossible to park as the car park is full of airport parking. We were booked for 5 days, but left after 2 days, because of the uncleanliness of the room & generally throughout the hotel

Really not as bad as people say... yes it's tired but certainly ok to stay in for a night or 2 The sofas in the bar weren't ripped at all like in some pics.... it has a lovely out door area you can sit in and have a drink and there are fish and ducks too.... the swimming pool is great nice and clean a good pre holiday swim. Staff were lovely the young girl who checked us in was really really helpful she ordered our taxi for 6 for 3am and it turned up spot on time and was £13 to gatwick and £13 back we called them when we got out the airport on return and they arrived with in 15 mins..... I do recommend getting to the hotel before 2pm for two reasons ... 1) for a parking space.. we never had a problem at that time and 2) to beat the check in ques it seems a lot of people arrive late afternoon/evening and the que was slow. Didn't seem to be noisy at night maybe we was lucky and had a room out the way. We had a family room which was bunk beds and a double bed, bathroom was clean I think there are far too many snobby people out there either that or we were just very lucky..... I can't comment on the food though but we had a drink and for a large coke, 2 small lemonades and a pint of beer was £8 ish ... we went down the road to a pub on the roundabout for food and that was very very nice and before 5 they do a £6 menu which I think is for 2 courses but not 100% but it's only a 5 min walk away if that..... our stay at the Europa was just fine and we would stay again if we ever have another early morning flight :)

The only good thing I can say was the reception staff were great. But that's it. Filthy place. Looks like it had never been cleaned. Cobwebs everywhere. Filthy bathroom. Dinner was a messed up mash. Cheap but they should have paid us. Bar staff were sulky and not helpful. Breakfast was all dried up and only slightly better than the dinner. Never stay here. Worst thing place I have ever been. Stinks of smoke. Ashtrays outside never emptied. All in all an awful place to stay even for one night.

Parked car in 2 minutes no hassles. Room was upgraded clean and tidy bathroom needs an upgrade. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was fine 3 course for £10 and was what I would expect for this price. Inexpensive hotel and what was expected for this price.

I was booked at this hotel for 5 nights but I fled the place after just one night, without refund. Going up the drive way the first impression is quite alright, but then you get to the reception and it just sucks the soul out of you. The staff is inattentive and can't even be bothered with a smile and "Welcome" upon your arrival. Check-in is extremely slow and there is no information given regarding breakfast times or anything else for that matter. I was sent off to the Lodge just around the corner which is the worst building I have ever put my foot in. The smell of old cigarets hits you as soon as you open the front door, and I even asked for a non-smoking room. The whole building is worn, old and just a sad place to be in. The room isn't any happy surprise either. It's small, dirty and stinks of cigaretts mixed with some lame attempt to cover it up with detergent. The bed was not made properly for my arrival, I can't even tell if the sheets have been changed or not. The carpet is full of stains and dust and the stains can be found all around the room, walls, ceiling, bathroom mirror, you name it. Not even sure if I want to know what those stains are or not. There is no attempt to make you feel welcome what so ever and no information to be found anywhere in the room. The bathroom is small and worn and in there the smell is even worse. There is no sign of ventilation at all. There is dirt and mold in all corners of the bathroom and the shower curtain is burned brown in the end. If you were hoping for a nice and steaming bath after a long day, forget it. Regarding the service at this hotel its non-existence. I called the reception (after several attempts pressing probably all the numbers on the phone until 0 did the trick) and asked for an iron and an iron board. I was told I had to pick it up at the reception myself and leave a deposition of 10£. Fair enough, I thought and asked further if they could book a taxi for me for the following morning. I was once again told that I had to go to the reception as that could not be done over the phone. So I once again walk through the hallway, that could have been taken from any horror movie ever made, across the parking lot towards the reception. Well there I was given a number to the taxi company to make my own reservation and was handed my iron and iron board. The most shocking thing happened when I was to return the borrowed stuff. The receptionist asked me to go up to a room on the first floor that have called and asked for an iron just minutes earlier. Confused and stubborn I said that I got it from the reception and I would like to return it there in exchange for my 10£ back. I was told that I would only get my cash back if I went upstairs and left the stuff at the said room. I have never been so humiliated in my life! This place is in desperate need of an exhaustive and total renovation from top to bottom. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
