mints on the bed with slippers! clean room and SUPER breakfast, made to order. The staff are super helpful. Had a death in the family and had to cancel reservation, but the free cancellation period had past. They accommodated our situation and refunded that night.
As soon as we stepped inside the door, we knew this would be one of the best places we've ever stayed, and a terrific value for the price! Comfy beds, generous toiletries laid out like artwork, and a robust breakfast with a PERSONAL OMELETTE CHEF: what more could you ask? The owner is a U.S. veteran and takes pride in his business. We give this fine establishment HIGHEST MARKS FOR EXCELLENCE!
A friend who travels more than I do recommended this hotel to me. His review was so positive I almost thought it was a set up, but it turned out to be even better than he said it was. There's something for everyone. The cleanliness would meet my grandmother's standards. I checked all the corners, and there was no dust to be found. I imagine this is what you get when you mix a hospitality focus with military discipline. The slippers and the mint would impress my wife. No one looks forward to walking on carpet on which thousands of feet have already trod. The disposable slippers were a nice touch. I was happy with the side table, which provided ample work surface and was equipped with place mats and coasters to protect the wood. These amenities make you want to take care of the room and leave it as nice as you found it. This has got to be one of the safest hotels in the area, since the parking lot contained at least half a dozen vehicles belonging to law enforcement. It is far enough from the interstate that I didn't notice the road noise in a first-floor room. The military discipline that results in fantastic cleanliness also means that breakfast ends promptly at the posted time, so don't be late! The only negative about the property is the driveway. Use Google Earth to find the driveway entrance from the overpass ramp, and you'll save time. Even if you miss it the first time around, it's worth the effort to come back to it.
This is a gem in an area where other hotels are scary and unclean. This hotel is clean, well-maintained with friendly staff. Great breakfast w cook preparing made to order omelettes and French toast. Room is well above average in terms of bed, furniture and comfort. Will definitely stay here again!
Booked room in November 2017 when we thought Mizzou was going to Liberty Bowl. Hotel advertised free cancellation until December 27. Cancelled in early December when we found out Mizzou was going to Houston. Waited for about a week for refund to post--never did. Horrible response from staff when trying to resolve issue. Now filing dispute with credit card (at least they're trying to help). My advise--do not book here if there is ANY chance you may cancel. You'll spend the next two months of your life trying to get your money back.
Allen checked us in and was very accommodating and friendly. Had great suggestions where to eat and information about the city. In the AM, he made to order eggs, pancakes, waffles, french toast and omelets along with fresh fruit. The rooms were very clean and quiet. Felt very safe here. It was a great experience!!
We drive up from Florida wanted to stay here because we had a very pleasant experience before. But got to the desk and clerk started to find us a room. But when my driver's license was from Memphis. I have not changed my license yet. My bad ! She could not find us a room. She was very rude said they didn't have any rooms. Kind of strange to me. So went across the street and saved 30 bucks.
Rude manager. We had an unpleasant incident where staff forced their way into our room. Apparently they had an unaccounted for key card to our room which was turned in by someone else. Expecting the room to be empty and then taking us for squatters they barged into the room. Manager and Owner had to have this situation explained to them before they apologized. They were hardly in a rush to take ownership for the bad practices that had led to a key card going unaccounted for. Stay here at your own risk - property is not secure if there are missing key cards showing up. Also don't expect your privacy to be valued - staff can barge in at any time even if you repeatedly tell them to give you a minute so that you can come to the door to let them in. This place definitely does not deserve the high reviews it has across platforms. I would have been somewhat lenient if the owner and manager had attempted to make things right in some way after this incident occurred - However, we were left feeling like we were the ones who had made the mistake and this was a "routine occurrence" that couldn't be avoided. Definitely not putting the experience (or safety) of your customer first. Owner also needs to be trained on racial sensitivity - referred to the gentleman who turned in the unaccounted for card as a "white american" where as I (THE PAYING GUEST) was somehow obviously not -ethnicity and nationality are completely separate and there are certainly guests who would have been way more offended than I was by that rhetoric.
Room was very clean and comfortable. No complaints. I think this was under new ownership. The owner checked us in and he was very friendly and retired marine, and NRA supporter and makes no qualms about it. I would always support our vets and Americans over foreign owners which is more common than not. My wife is very picky and even she thought the room was very clean. I like the small refrigerator, one of the few that actually has a small freezer that will maintain a small bag of ice. The only problem I saw was that the door had a gap between the door and door frame and the wind blew very hard the two nights we were there and the door rattled pretty bad. I heard the breakfast was very good, but we didn't get up early enough to check it out. We would return if in the area.
Remember the motels in the movies? Park your car outside the door end enter directly into the room from the curb-side. This is it and what a surprise (see picture and note the slippers). Not the move king-size bed but two queen-size beds with excellent sleep quality. But to begin from the beginning. When approaching the hotel on Ingram Blvd, don´t mind the banking, just go over it and the motel is on the other side of the ridge. Meet the friendly staff and retire to your quiet room. After a good nights sleep it´s time for the complimentary breakfast. And another surprise. An omelet chef, who also can cook your eggs or make you a waffle or two. We opted for the omelet which was made to perfection. After beakfast we were two happy campers setting out for a day in Memphis.
