A nice hotel 20 min. walking distance from the CBD. Excellent combination price-quality.

You can eat around the world within walking distance from hotel.

Good for the price. It was handy having access to a communal kitchen for cooking but unfortunately it did not have an oven. The walls are a little thin. I was kept awake one night with the sound of snoring from the room on one side and the sound of a baby screaming across the hall.

friendly staff, very knowledgeable; well managed, value for money; good location.

My biggest beef with this hotel is housekeeping. One day they just didn't show up. The front desk person said that housekeeping is outsourced and there's nothing she could do. This conversation was overheard with one of the hotel owners who gave me two free breakfast tickets for my troubles. This breakfast was ordinarily $8 and unclouded coffee, juice and toast. For this much money you can have a real brekkie at one the nearby cafes.

The place was shabby. Needs paint and fresh carpets and bedspreads. Bath was a little more modern. No irons in rooms or free wi-fi or comfort items like toiletries . Walls very thin so heard everything from toilets to talking. Had to carry bags up the stairs. Location just OK. Lots of public transportation.

The hotel was fine - definitely served its purpose for my stay in Melbourne and the value was great, but it's a true budget hotel, and I wish it had more character and was a bit closer to the city center.

Wow! You must stay here if you're looking for value! The room is clean, roomy, plenty of storage for clothes. We had a bathroom ensuite which was wonderfully modern and clean. Our room also included a refrig, electric kettle, alarm clock, phone. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. David recommended the coffee house Auction Rooms just up the street...go there, too! Five minute walk to the tram that gets you downtown. Local restaurants and grocery 5 minute walk as well. Stay here!!!

Met or exceeded all expectations. Would happily stay here again.

Not bad for what it is. If your going to Australia on a budget, this is a hotel. Not in a central location, but accessible. Worth a try if in Melbourne.

Nice, friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were small but very clean. Easy walk to the market, shops and restraunts. Great rates. I stayed here last year and returned this year. Nothing fancy but very nice.
