Beachfront cottage with relaxing spa services
Warm tropical breezes and spectacular azure ocean views await you on Cayman Brac at the Getaway house. I invite you to come and experience one of the Caribbean's best kept secrets. The Getaway house has been described as 'the perfect island beach house'. The home is just a few steps (only 120 feet) from the clear, turquoise, Caribbean Sea. This oceanfront home is situated on the south (windward) side of Cayman Brac and enjoys constant trade winds. The house is fully furnished and has a washer/dryer, wi-fi, and tv with Netflix and other streaming channels. All towels (including beach towels) and linens are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped including stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender (ninja) and Keurig coffee maker. Everything you need for the perfect 'getaway'! The home has two (2) bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, master bath, queenside bed with it's own full-size bathroom. The screen porch has a hammock and lounge chairs perfect for a nap, reading, or just taking in the refreshing ocean views and breeze. A private sandy beach area great for sunbathing is right outside the back door. Also, a barbecue grill provides a perfect place to grill your catch of the day! There are 3 tidal pools at the oceans' edge: 1 foot, 2 feet and 4 feet deep, perfect for a quick dip or a long relaxing soak with an adult beverage. A coral reef a short distance out from shore provides excellent snorkeling. Shore fishing and beach bonfires are also great fun ... and free ... and without the hassle of having to leave your 'getaway'! The house is conveniently located near the dive shops, restaurants, and grocery stores, yet far enough away from everything to make you feel as though you have the island to yourself. Love It

This is our third stay at this house...2015, 2017 and now 2019. It won't be our last. We love it. The location is about 2 miles from the airport, and about 1.5 miles from the market. With a neighbor on one side, empty lot on the other side, and one house across the street, the house is very private. We never saw the residents in any of our 3 stays. The house has been recently remodeled and is a work in progress. A gorgeous new full bathroom was installed, new furniture, a laundry room with washer/dryer , and two 55" TV's. The kitchen is FULLY equipped with every utensil you can think of, a new fridge with icemaker/water dispenser, a Brita water filter and a whole assortment of cookware and cutlery. The "screened in" patio is the perfect place to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean while sipping a hot cup of Kurig coffee. The house has lots of leftover spices, mustard, mayo, butter, etc, etc, from previous renters, so check the house before you hit the market. It'll save you a few bucks as things are expensive on the island. Rhonda, the owner, and Liesel, the property manager, are a dream to work with. They are flexible and will do what they can to make your stay the best that it can be. Rhonda was extremely thoughtful with giving us a "Welcome Back" gift bag just chock full of goodies (even thought she was not the owner during our first 2 stays). Leisel was perfect. She met us at the airport, and off we went. She checked up on us here and there via text messages with any concerns we might have. We had none. The only concern we had was that we didn't want to leave. If you are looking for a nice quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay, this is it. You won't be disappointed!!! Just read all the 5 star ratings. We are already looking at another stay in the summer of 2020. We could go somewhere else, but Rhonda and Leisel made us feel like family...REALLY!!! This is our "home away from home"!!!

        Getaway from it all

This was a vacation so relaxing and interesting it made staying here a real joy. We didn't want to be inundated by lots of people and being on the Bracing in this spot was exactly what we needed. There where a couple deliveries and maintenance while we were there but so mild that they hardly constituted as interruptions. Everyone was so friendly it was a real pleasure. Lots to explore. The hermit crabs were great! If you put something out for them to eat they'll be swarming it within 5 minutes usually. We snorkelled for the first time and it was fantastic. Its my new love. By the way the Getaway has a mask you can use. The Scuba Shack (right down the road from the house toward the west end/ right past the Bracing Resort) will rent you snorkels and mask for about $5/ day. We saw (snorkelling): sting rays, barracuda, porcupine fish, balloon fish, white-spotted file fish, Queen Trigger fish, Damsel fish of all kinds, Tangs of all kinds, Trumpet fish, crabs, Blue head, and Squid, just to name a few. If you stop by the Brac Resort right down the road and ask to use their dock they're wonderfully pleasant and accommodating. Off their dock @ night if you take a flashlight they say you can see Octopus. We didn't see any but we did see a 7 ft Nurse Shark, a Porcupine fish and Barracuda. You need water shoes to walk anywhere on the island even in the sand (which is actually crushed coral in a small/ fine gravel), but it still hurts to walk on at times without flip-flops or sandals at least. We visited the Museum (which was good and halfway up the north road on the coastal side of the road/ white building in blue trim) and NIM things on the north side toward the very eastern end in Spot Bay on the inland side of the road. Warning: Tennyson (the owner will talk your ear off!!) ...Chuckles... He's very informative though. Starrie (his wife is a doll/ very sweet). And if you ask her she may just make you her famous pies! Her Key Lime Pie (my favorite) was the best I've ever had (smoothest, creamiest, silkiest ever). The Coconut was foot too but didn't taste of coconut that much (still good though). The merchandise (grocery, fuel, trinkets, alcohol) was VERY expensive!!! Fuel: (95 octane) was $5.14/ gallon (the only one available. A loaf of bread is about $3.50, cereal box was $7-9. So just make sure you take plenty of money along (double any spending money you have allotted and you should be good. White-tailed tropic bird, Turns, Boobies abound. We'll be back.

Quiet cozy house right on the water.

Great vantage point for both sunrise and sunsets.

            Wonderful spot!

This is the perfect spot on Cayman Brac! Every room has a beautiful view and a nice breeze. We enjoyed the tidal pool frequently. It seemed as though you were on a private island, yet it is close to stores and restaurants. It is the perfect place to relax. The cover photo is exactly as it appears, beautiful view and comfortable porch furniture. We would highly recommend!

Charming seaside cottage with Nightingales,Brown Boobies and Loons!

This lovely cottage reminds me so much of our lake cabin in Minnesota I kept expecting to hear loons ! Charming knotty pine walls, comfortable beds and furniture, kitchen perfect for making meals. The screen porch with the sea views and sound of waves was enchanting, plenty of fresh cool air and no need for air. Quiet area perfect for morning walks and biking. Cottage was clean, landscaping lovely with a daily nightingale seen, and brown boobies flying past . Owner and caretaker quite responsive and wonderful to deal with. Priced very reasonable and having the owner flexible with check in/out times was a rare find. Thank you,I look forward to renting again soon.
