Golden Tulip Mastbosch Hotel Breda4.0 out of 5.0

Just stayed at this place for 2 nights. It’s really nice located next to a Forrest/park for walking. But the complete building urgently would need a renovation. Have not seen such a small, old TV for probably 20 years in a Hotel. Definitely very interesting a bit like time travel.
clean and cosy, classic style hotel. Older guests. Wooden floors with squeaking planks, could hear the neighbors talk throughout the night. Breakfast was allright, not very much choice but very good coffee.
Some people might like the outdated style that this hotel has, but there is a big discrepancy that the pictures this hotel distributes on their web page, accounts, and the real situations. My room was small and it was average clean. For a hotel of the Golden Tulip chains, I expect much higher quality than the one I was proposed. The price is higher than normal for the service I was provided, the personnel is unwelcoming especially in the restaurant. On the other side, the big plus of this hotel is that it is close to the forest and in the morning I woke up from the sounds of birds, which is indeed amazing, but still, this did not manage to compensate the rest of the bad factors
Quiet, stylish and proper hotel close to forest. No traffic. We could open the window. No noise from within the hotel, nor outside. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Easy parking. Great accessibility to roads leading to Tilburg, Antwerpen and Utrecht.
The room I stayed in was tiny, has not been touched in 20 years or and probably was not appealing in the first place. Hotel is posting photos of brand new refurbished rooms and not mentioning anything regarding this at booking. They claim a 4 star rating while rooms are not fit to be offered to guests or should be seriously discounted. Ask for a new room at booking.
Counting on the high score that this hotel had plus the fact that it's a part of Golden Tulip chain, I booked a room in this hotel for couple of nights. It's a piece of history , only if you're a fund of nostalgia you may enjoy , for me it was unnecessary experience. Noisy, you can hear everything from the neighbor rooms. My room (single bed) was so tiny , not a good idea for claustrophobic guests. Restaurant is beautiful ,even exclusive I'd say. Breakfast is nice. Environment is beautiful, quiet and pastoral place. The key for room could be easily used as a weapon. :) Shower is terrible, no water pressure at all. This morning I also had a nice surprise to find out during the middle of shower that there is no soap / shampoo/gel / anything like it, zero..
Loved this place, a traditional Dutch hotel in a lovely old building. Great service, from the ever-smiling girl at check in to the friendly barman, who served us refreshing Dutch draught lager at way too expensive prices. The room was very comfortable, and the all important shower was toasty and powerful. Breakfast was weird in the way that Europeans like it, all cheese and cold meats, but I located some streaky bacon and a crusty bap, just so I could placate my innate sense of a Brit abroad. There's a park opposite and if you're a bit sad you can rent a bike.....or you can walk 10 minutes to a great little square with about 6 pubs all serving excellent beer. Recommended.
Nice hotel with lots of original features. Rooms are large, bright & airy with modern large bathroom with very high quality fixtures & fittings, and free wifi throughout. Receptionist was very polite & helpful, and everyone spoke very good English. Bar was lovely and the restaurant very busy throughout our stay both during daytime (lunch) and evenings. Breakfast was good with both hot & continental choices, fresh pastries and fruit. Would recommend and use again.
We spend one night in this hotel after we had a family party. The dinner was Well organised in a private room. Everything was served in time. The restaurant part is also Nice with the hotel bar. Rooms are ok, bed is good. Ambiance is oldish but warm.
They stole from our bedroom a sealed eau de cologne and to our complain, they replied that there was nothing they could do about it. The receptionist left for seconds to ask probably her supervisor and yet their interest was neil
