Nice room with vaulted ceiling and pleasing view through large window and doors. First room didn't have heat because of a broken thermostat. Handyman quickly brought us keys to a different room. But that room didn't have a bathtub (handicap shower) and we wanted a soak from our 70 mile hike. He quickly moved us to a 3rd room and everything was fine. We would have stayed a 2nd day if they hadn't been booked already
While this property may no longer have the most polished fit and finish (and may even be a bit dated relative to what some people may expect at a “resort”) the room was altogether acceptable—clean with a luxurious view. But what makes this happily memorable is the wonderfully welcoming, thoughtful, friendly and kind way we were greeted at reception upon our arrival.

Great place to stay while visiting Waynesville. My review is for a recent stay in the older building. The good: The staff was excellent. Very nice golf course property setting in a beautiful area. Bed was comfortable, room size was good with a balcony. Nice golf course view. Price included a hot breakfast everyday (but see below). One day with few at breakfast, we were served an ordered hot breakfast. The not so good: Room/building was old and in need of updating. Room amenities were aged. Hot breakfast buffet were the same items everyday. I would not call the room dirty, but it was not pristine clean either. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. Yeah, the building and room was in need of updating, but overall setting was wonderful, we had a golf course view, nice neighborhood, conveniently located, and it was a great price.
The golf course was fun to play. The facilities are becoming a little run down. Hope it can be updated so it will stay in business because the course and the views are great.
Golf course property was beautiful! Lodge definitely needs some updates. AC was struggling in the restaurants.
We liked the quietness but didn’t like it was kind of run down.
Room is nice -Fairway is my favorite location, Looks older but still very quiet and comfortable,. Restaurant is very good and breakfast is still the best!
Rustic but wonderful staff. Rooms are comfortable, though not fancy. We enjoy having the rooms, golf, and restaurants all close together.

All the reviews about the hotel being a little past its prime but excellent and friendly workers are right on the money. Both of these together along with a hotel that is a little bit quirky makes it just right for a fun get away. If anything changed it just would not be as fun. This is our new go to place to stay in Waynesville.
I checked in, went to my room and immediately checked out. I stay in hotels frequently for work and never stayed in a hotel that was so unkept. It was like a hotel seen in horror films. I'm sure the other aspects of the hotel weren't that bad. The staff was nice enough but didn't seem knowledge of their computer systems. They also seemed shocked to hear their hotel was a dump. Below are a few pictures I took before leaving the room. Luckily I got all my money back. Thanks Orbitz.
IT IS A NICE HOTEL, FRIENDLY STAFF,NICE BIG AND CLEAN ROOM. COMFORTABLE BEDS. ONLY THING MISSING IS OUTDOOR LIGHTS WHICH MAKES YOU LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE IF YOU CHECK IN LATE IN THE EVENING PERTICULARLY IN THE WINTER MONTHS.

Thank you for taking a few moments to share a review. I'm so sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Even though we are super excited to have completed renovations on more than half of our guest rooms, we are indeed in the middle of an overhaul of the entire property. I apologize for the construction and lack of amenities, although we have worked hard to make these things known via all booking channels and through all direct interaction with guests. Please accept my apologies for a stay that did not measure up. I hope you will consider staying with us again in the future when we have more amenities to offer. Safe travels!
