Great location, great character! Fun place to stay right downtown and by the bike trails around the river & lakes. Would stay here again!

Lovely historic hotel in charming and vibrant downtown near river walk trails. Quiet and comfortable!

Friendly quiet and clean!!!!!!!!!!!@@@!!!@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

We were surprised to find ear plugs in the night stand. But when the folks next door moved in it became apparent that the walls were pretty thin. Otherwise we had a nice stay.

it would have been nicer to stay in the old building that was the original hotel instead of the annex which is not much better than a motel 6...clean but not the atmosphere or looks. door stuck all the time and it was a bit noisy as you are very near all the cars on main floor..ask for the refurbished old part

Loved the ambiance of the hotel. Large room. People were friendly. Very historic, walking to lots of fun restaurants, shops and bars. Nice restaurant and bar next door. Comfortable lobby area. Even a real key to unlock door! Only downside was continental breakfast was just so so.

Planned special surprise stay for my valentine. Couldn't have been nicer. Very romantic. Love the vintage atmosphere with modern luxury. Staff very attentive but not intrusive. There was one robe in the room, and when we asked for a second it was brought up immediately. Very nice fragrance of soap and lotion etc. Nice, large Jacuzzi tub (didn't use, but would have if had had more time there), deep, good for soaking. Wine glasses and cork screw a nice touch. Large coffee maker with excellent Starbucks coffee and were welcome to get more, and more coffee condiments if needed. It was quiet. Had a third floor room with western windows so the sun came in in around sunset time through the vintage Venetian blinds . Plush towels, great shower with good pressure and tall enough head. Splendid European style breakfast made me feel like on a trip overseas. The only thing that could be improved was the mattress, it wasn't very comfortable.

Back in Cedar Falls to move my son into his new house! Though he has plenty of room for us to stay there, I may opt to stay at The Black Hawk Hotel anyway! It is so lovely!

The Black Hawk was situated in downtown Cedar Falls near restaurants, coffee shops and mainstreet. It was well preserved and a quaint environment.

I stayed in the modern rooms addition and the room is fine. The problem that I had is that the room above me was very loud and at 2am they were kicking their door and being rowdy all night. That along with the train that came through at least twice and sounds its horn each time made for a terrible night. They also need more than a deadbolt lock on the doors, as this is an outside entry hotel. Having drunk young men above my room at 2am and no security chain on the door was quite worrisome.

I grew up in Cedar Falls and remember when the Black Hawk Hotel was extremely run down. The restoration was very successful and the place is beautiful.

I stayed in the modern rooms outside the main hotel. They were clean and silent. I will come back!
