The property itself is clean, but lacks updates and adequate facilities. Staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Continental breakfast is very basic, but serves the purpose for those wanting breakfast provided - just toast and bagels with hard-boiled eggs, yogurts and some cereal options. No hot breakfast. So if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t it. Directly across from Soo Locks and shops which is super convenient! I did have to request housekeeping more than once before it was handled and sadly, we had no access to lights in the room in sleeping area and nothing could be done to fix that; unacceptable for $200/night. To end on a good note, the bar tender is AMAZING! She is professional, personable and incredibly accommodating and her service alone will bring us back to the hotel. It’s centrally located and once we got past the lack of electrical options for lighting, we can’t complain. Steep prices for what you get, but it’s prime tourism season, so there’s no getting around that. Thanks for making our stay so great, Suzanne!

It’s nice to see the renovations in progress at this classic hotel.

Undecorated room. TV guide incorrect. Limited view.

This hotel is the best. This is the only place we stay when we go up to the Soo Locks.

Our room was ok, hallways are disgusting, walls are thin, could hear our neighbors having sex was a turnoff. Hot tub in the pool needs to be fixed.

Great Location, you can walk to area attractions and Restaurants. Dated hotel style, but that adds to the charm. Beds are very comfortable, rooms are extremely clean and front desk staff is top notch. This should be your first choice if staying in the area and wanting to easily explore.

The girl at the front desk that checked us in was so fun and had such a friendly bubbly personality! She is representing this hotel well! We love this hotel and always have an amazing stay here. The close proximity of it to the Soo Locks makes it our favorite place to stay!

Had a awsome stay some trouble with billing but owner stepped up and made our stay perfect !!!!if your a honest person this is a great place to stay...

This was a nice little place to stay for the night. We were not there for very long but I am sure if you were staying for awhile that the downtown location would be nice.

It was nice it does have an old feeling to it and needs to be up dated for the price of the stay but everyone was nice and we had problems other then the broken blinds that I could live with

Overall hotel was not too bad. Our room, 516, was at least 80°-85° with the heat turned off and the window open. I had to sleep with the door to the room propped open to get any airflow through there. The view out the window was nice. You could see the locks. There was no desk in the room. There was a spot for a desk. There was a desk chair. Just no desk. The bed was very comfortable. The elevator was quick. Coffee was good, and free in the lobby as well as the room. Never used the restaurant, so no comment on that. Room had incandescent lights, especially in the bathroom, which only added to the heat in the room. Toilet in the room had a round bowl, not comfortable. Toilet stall in the first floor men's room was too small to move, I think airplane restrooms are bigger.

Great location, Older building, Nice Reception area. Rooms are really dated.

We got there a little early was told our room wasn't clean that it would be ready at 3 pm which was fine we went back at 3 and was told it still wasn't ready that they would call when it was never received a call we got back around 6 pm got checked in and went to the room to find out that they gave it to someone else after we were told we couldn't be changes because it was a handicapped room went down to the desk they gave us another room it was really small and the bed was so hard neither of us slept we asked for our money back because they messed up and was denied we don't recommend staying at this hotel so not worth the money

We arrived at 3 pm to check in. We were informed that our room was not ready, so we went to the restaurant in the hotel to pass some time and ordered a late lunch. At 4 pm, we went back to the front desk and they said our room was now ready. We arrived to the room and the bed was not made and obviously had not been cleaned yet. The cleaning staff was in the area so we alerted the head maid and she sent her staff in to clean our room. We waited another 15-20 minutes for our room to be cleaned. All seemed well until 11 pm when the room next to us and the room across the hall started talking and laughing very loudly and moving back and forth from room to room. This went on until 3 AM. We called the front desk and said that the "party" outside in the hall was still continuing and we were unable to sleep with all the noise. Apparently, someone did come up from the front desk and asked the participants to end the party. It finally ended at 4 AM. Needless to say, we did not get any sleep. When we checked out, we politely informed the front desk person of our experience and lack of sleep. She responded "I'm sorry". No offer of how they could make up for our terrible experience, or refund of any kind.

Hotel location was nice, lots of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance. Parking was very limited, had to park in overflow which is a gravel lot a block away. Hotel was older, doesn't seem to be updated. Rooms are smaller, with old furniture. Our room was located on 2nd floor, ceiling had lots of water damage in room and hallways, also food crumbs in one of the beds. Pool area was nice, one vending machine for drinks which was not working. Overall it functioned as needed, but would choose something else next time. Only one worker at night, when i needed something I had to wait about 15 minutes for them to return to desk.
