Just Checked in yesterday for a five night stay and it is still awesome in terms of everything from service to the rooms. Sill my family's best pick for a very affordable hotel with the best to offer. Cheers guys and keep up the good work

I had an excellent and relaxing stay at this Holiday Inn on the Ping River. I ready the other reviews, but don't agree that it needs updating to the degree other people said. The location is a bit out of the way, but the lobby was grand and beautiful, full service, I was treated with respect and appreciation by staff and given a welcome drink, I was asked if everything was okay while I was staying at the hotel, I was able exchange $ for Thai baht, everything was clean, my room was comfortable, spacious and pleasant, and my view on the 21st floor facing the Ping River and downtown Chiang Mai - breathtaking.

Enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The staff were friendly and happy to help. Room was large though very basic and needs upgrading. Quality of food we ordered in Room Service was good too. A trip to old town and night bazaar would cost about 100 TBH by tuk tuk. The hotel also offers a shuttle to night bazaar.

We were there during the low season for a couple of nights and it was a very pleasant experience. Location is good with a free shuttle service to the night market. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Nice rooftop swimming pool as well. The hotel seems to be a little past its prime and in need of a little upgrade but rooms are very large and still well maintained.

We spent 7 nights at the hotel. We received a welcome drink on arrival, staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. We received an upgrade and we had a very large room and bathroom. The kingsize bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and found it had a lot of variety to choose from including asian and western food. Very fast free wi fi. We had a business buffet lunch one day and it was lovely along with a afternoon tea on Mother's day. There is a small bakery selection which is very helpful when you return from a hot day of touring. We also had room service pizza a couple of times. There are 2 massage places and a seven eleven next door to the hotel. The hotel also has a shuttle to the markets, we used to shuttle to take us to the markets and caught a tuk tuk back as we found the return times too late. We highly recommend the Holiday Inn, Chiang Mai.

I stayed for one night, used the pool and gym, and ate the breakfast buffet. I also paid a little more for the Executive Club room. Overall it was very good value for money, but the hotel is looking a bit tired. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, staff polite, but no real warmth. My Executive Club room was quite large and clean. The bathroom showed its age and is ready for an upgrade. But everything was working and fine. I enjoyed the complimentary 6-8pm drinks and canapés in the Club Lounge. Friendly staff and quite good canapés. The breakfast buffet had a reasonable range of Western and Asian options. Pastry selections were limited but OK. The gym was good, with quite a lot of new equipment. The pool area is a bit tired, with an older style, medium sized pool. Pool staff and concierge staff were mostly friendly and polite. Location is very easy for the Airport. But is a little bit away from the Old Town (but on the river) and you will need a tuk tuk/ songthiaw / taxi to go almost everywhere. On the plus side, within easy walking distance, there is (A) a real local market for food, fruit and veg, household supplies etc (B) a few local style cafes and restaurants, plus one or two tourist places, and (C) 7-Eleven and Tops Daily minimarts for water, snacks and toiletries etc.

We have 2 kids and the hotel in most circumstances had offered help and was able to resolve them for us. We needed a room change as preference, we got it. We wanted boxes to pack the stuff we bought, we got them. Excellent hotel. Clean and cosy, as helpful hotel staffs made a difference.

The rooms luxurious. After so many Thai type meals it was good to have the choice of a western food. The breakfasts in good Thai hotels are beyond excellent and the Holiday Inn was no exception. The gardens were lovely and so nice to breakfast in them.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Chiang Mai for five nights. I ended up paying $111 per night for a suite which gave us access to the club drinks and appetizers in the evening and the buffet breakfast in the morning. Both the Club and the Breakfast buffet were really good. The two room suite was spacious and the bed comfortable. For the price, I was very happy staying there. But a few things to understand before you book: It is an old hotel, expect stains on the carpets in the hallway and scratches on the furniture. Don't expect five-star housekeeping and you won't be disappointed. Ditto for the concierge. Also, it is NOT in the center of town. You will need transportation to the markets but it is cheap and the hotel does have a shuttle bus. They have a nice pool, workout center and massage center that we took advantage of. Overall, it was good value for money.

This hotel located outside of old town, but it is very easy to access from airport. The concierge provided the welcome drink waiting for us. And our room was been updated to the top floor. The room was big and nice. So far so good!
