Bethesda Marriott

This self-inclusive facility is fabulous, with its restaurant, super clean mod rooms, but it is virtually in the middle of nowhere; unless you have an event in the immediate area, walkability is zero and alternative amenities are zilch.

We were here to visit our freshman daughter for Family Weekend at American University. This hotel is about 15-20 minutes from the campus. It does not have an included breakfast but was less expensive than the Downtown Bethesda Marriott that we stayed at in August. I would recommend it as a comfortable hotel near NIH.

The room was great, as well the hotel staff. We have ust missed the free wi-fi connection.

Upon checking in, I was double charged for my room but wasn't informed of this mistake. I had to take it upon myself to go to the front desk to inquire why there was a massive pending charge on my card. Simply taking accountability would have been nice, but this was not the case and I was brushed off as another gust worried about a deposit. (Wrong) This put a limit on my cash funds, so I had to resort to racking up my credit card while I town, which I hoped to avoid. The icing on the cake was the construction directly adjacent to my room, and directly above, starting sharply at 9 am. I was NOT informed of this either and that certainly set me off. Upon checking out, I was offer $20 off of my room service bill... I would not say that this compensates for the $400 hold that was on my card for the whole duration of my stay nor for the abrupt awakening. Regardless of this annoying and frustrating experience with the staff, the hotel is clean and the rooms are very comfortable, modern and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is delicious, but lacks in vegetarian or vegan options which would have been nice. Getting around DC is not difficult from this location either. If you can tolerate incompetent and rudely offensive staff, stay here. You may save a few bucks compared to staying close to the capital.

The hotel has a modern, cool vibe to it from the minute you enter the lobby. The rooms, which feature upgraded Kohler fixtures in the bathroom, super comfortable beds, a HUGE television, and lots of recessed lighting, are comfortable if not overly spacious. This hotel does a very good job of making the most of limited space.

Love this place! If you're staying in Bethesda, book now. Great location, cool modern rooms, AWESOME restaurant & bar with local beers and delicious flat breads.

Nice and convenient location. Hotel shuttle every hr. Metro not far away. Hotel under remodeling. Prices pretty high. Rooms less comfortable than they used to be (at the same hotel). Quality and variety of breakfast reduced as compared to 1-3 yrs ago. It seems that the dollar is shrinking these days. Unfortunately, Marriott is possibly going down. Marriott, please, do all you can to recover.

The hotel was great . . . going through renovations . . . . some amenities not available.

Overall stay was fine. I traveled during a winter storm so many of the amenities at hotel were not available.

We stayed in this hotel for night as our friends go married in the area. The room was nice and clean and the hotel in general was a great stay. Front desk help was quite nice, but the hotel staff behind the starbucks area encountered in the morning left a bit to be desired. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

It was a great location with a free shuttle to restaurants and NIH. Would go again.

They charge extra for everything and located in a weird place.

Very clean and very comfortable and reasonably priced.

This is a very good hotel, but is suited for those traveling either to NIH or the Medical Center. It has no surrounding shops, restaurants, or any other facilities. It is seved only by taxi or by hotel shuttle to the nearest Metro. And: internet connection is $12.95 per day; breakfast is $17. Rooms are very comfortable. Lobby is large; eating area is also large.

Stayed for appointments at NIH. Staff and shuttle drivers very friendly and helpful. Food not good and there are not other options close to hotel. Facilities are old. Children running up and down hallway a lot one night, which isn't really the hotel's fault, but did not improve the overall experience. Many people constantly smoking in front of hotel: same thing.

Hotel looks expensive so does food and room service. Otherwise is fine.

The stay was very nice and clean didnt have any issues was only there for one night. the only thing i didnt like was they could not put me in a kingbed room they had rooms avaliable but the attendant said it would not allow him to change. i dont know if it was because i booked online but the booking said king bed or 2 full size. overall good trip and would stay there again.

We stayed at this Marriott to be near a family celebration in DC. The room was very nice but the kids were disappointed that the pool was closed for cleaning on Sun the only day they had free time. There were not enough towels for 4 people. When we asked for more bath towels we were given two floor mats. We appreciated the thoughtful arrangement of stuffed animals on the bed when we returned to the room after it was cleaned. Next time we'll stay at our favorite Marriott -the Conference Center in North Bethesda.

We have stayed here frequently while visiting our daughter's college over the past 4 years . Each time we have stayed, the rooms have been spotless and the housekeeping staff have been attentive and friendly. The location- which is relatively far from the city center but right off the beltway- keeps the room price low, but it also makes it easy to get to, and the hotel provides a shuttle to the nearest Metro station.

Why do these business hotels nickel and dime customers. I expect free WiFi, complementary coffee, help with airport transfers for the cost of the room
