We were very pleased with the quick check-in and the accommodations. The room was a nice size and appeared to be clean. After returning to the room after breakfast, we noticed a smell of marijuana in the hallway leading to our room. When we entered the room, the smell was even worse. My kids, ages 6 and 8, complained about the smell and kept asking what it was. We told them to try and ignore it and that it was a skunk. We obviously knew what it really was. We assumed it would go away. But when we went back to the room after dinner, the smell was still there and even stronger. My brother-in-law was staying on the second floor and after coming to our room went downstairs to the front desk and complained. The hotel staff claimed that received numerous complaints but couldn't pinpoint which room. Early that morning at around 5am, I was woken up by the noise coming from the room which was adjacent to ours. The music and TV were blasting and the smell was horrific. When we went down to check out, I complained about the smell and the noise and they said unfortunately there was nothing they could do. The manager wasn't there and if I wanted I could call later to speak to him. They said that housekeeping was trying to determine which room it was but I told them I knew it was the adjoining room to ours because the smell was even stronger inside our room than out in the hallway. I think it is CRAZY that the Holiday Inn would allow this and not do anything about it.

Very convenient location for URI events. Has own restaurant. We miss in-room refrigerator when they renovated it but staff kindly offered use of their refrigerator. Much appreciated! Staff very accommodating, very helpful.

Very pleased for an unexpected trip. Thank you for making us feel comfortable.

Nice, decent hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Only issue was that the was no hair conditioner in room (minor issue).

Close to the college, which was the reason for our visit for an invent there. Restaurant attached is great because there is not that many place to eat without driving about 10 or 15 minutes. Staff friendly clean room. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is very basic and unexceptional yet very expensive for what you get. Our room cost over $300 per night, it was very small, the bathroom offered 3 towels for 2 people, and the coffee maker literally had two teabags. The bed mattress was either old or else too soft.

Ac was roaring all night called room service after to attempts with no answer called front desk reccomend I try again and would let them know after third attempt got answer gave order then was told we are busy can I come down and pick up I said no thanks feel that they should not advertise room service if cannot fulfill I paid 338 dollars for a 89 dollar room not happy feel ripped of

I just had a one-nighter with a day long meeting on campus at URI. I checked in late to a very friendly desk staff person. My room was clean, modern and comfortable. I slept well. Had a continental breakfast and checked out early. Kind of a typical trip for me, but the comfort of my room allowed for a great night's sleep. What more can I ask!

Wish they had 2 Queen size beds in the rooms instead of 2 full beds......Bed was very comfortable but just to small for me and by husband.

This hotel was not clean to be kind. There was dark spots on the ceiling of our rooms. I can only imagine what the was. The hallways were dark and dank.

While the Hotel was better that it was 20 years ago, I will not recomend it. There was no drapes on the window, only a sheer white panel. Not very good for privacy or for sleeping :-(. Don't try to get room service breakfast @ 7:30, we were told by the front desk no one was in the kitchen yet, call back in about 20 minutes!! REALLY! Walked to Dunkin Donuts instead. Went to check out at 4AM, and was told he had not rolled over the day before's charges yet. Told him I hadn't charged anything to the room anyway. They all seemed clueless.

Nicer than we expected. Bathroom was alittle snug. If a shower was made in stead of a tub, it would be a little more comforable. Unfortunately being a former smoker, when we returned the next afternoon to our room. I did notice the room had a smoking smell to it. I expect that one of the maids might have had the smell in her clothes. It did clear up after awhile, which wasn't too bad. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay at your hotel.

Good experience... nothing overly flashy or great. A good clean room at a fair price. Close to University of Rhode Island. Great bar/restaurant inside!

I stayed the night at the Holiday Inn Express South Kingstown the night before an interview at URI. The room was clean and the bed was cozy. I slept well and was ready to take on the day that next morning. Check-out isn't til 11am which was nice.

the pool watter was very very cold a propane gas heater needs to be installed the mattresses are like canoas, rooms should have .a small fridge and microwave.

nice pool, nice restaurant and bar , friendly sweet staff, 100% I'll come back again soon

Last minute decision to go to Newport for a few days. Hotels in Newport were out of our budget and this one seemed the best deal. Comparing it to others in the area I was a little nervous but pleasantly surprised. Hotel was clean, staff pleasant and pool clean. Great for a late dip after a busy day. Not many restaurants in area was our only complaint.

The room appeared clean and attractive on Friday afternoon when we checked in. Saturday morning I woke to find a red itchy bug bite of some sort on me. The second morning, Sunday, my husband had three bites on him. We were checking out and didn't say anything but now I remember the talk about beg bugs on the east coast and wish I had let the staff know. The pillows were WAY too firm and high for our taste so for the second night we requested flatter pillows and our service person brought us two feather pillows. The restaurant was a big dissappointment also. On our first morning we went for breakfast but had to approach the staff because there were three of them standing talking at the bar. The breakfast was good but the service was awful. That night I decided to try the breakfast delivery service offered so I put out the "breakfast order card" before the scheduled pick up time of 10pm. When our requested delivery time came and went I opened the door to see if they just set it down outside the door. That's when I found my order card still hanging on the door. I called the front desk and was transfered to the restaurant where I ordered the continential breakfast. The toast was barely toasted and it was cold. Coffee was not served in a carafe but arrived on the tray in two styrofoam cups. I was really displeased by the whole experience.

We were in RI for a family function. The hotel staff were excellent. The room rates were on the high side, however we were there during a "busy time". The restaurant attached to the hotel was wonderful. The food and service were much, much better than expected. We would recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity, well worth the visit.

Excellent location, friendly staff, neat and clean rooms.
