STAFF All provided an excellent service, always on hand nothing to much trouble, a real nice atmosphere. Mark the Manager runs a great team and you can tell this in the way he communicates with his team.
I would recommend The Millers as a wedding venue to anyone, they made our day absolutely perfect! From the first meeting with Claire we knew we'd made the right choice, she was attentive and changed anything we wanted to suit our big day. She kept in touch via email regularly and just made the whole organisation of our day much easier. We also met Mark before our wedding to finalise all the details, he understood our want for a simple wedding and made sure all of the finer details were covered. On the day of the wedding Mark and his wife organised the wedding breakfast room and didn't even frown when I wanted tables moving and napkins changed! We then had a huge issue where my hair and make up artist did not turn up, luckily Mark allowed Anne from housekeeping to stop working to step in to do my hair. I will be forever grateful for that as it saved my day for me. Mark calmed my nerves whilst waiting to walk to the ceremony and did a fantastic job with the organisation and music during the ceremony. He also made sure I had a drink to hand straight after the ceremony, something that was a very needed! The wedding breakfast was served fantastically and the food was amazing! I've never been to a wedding where you got good portions of really tasty food. The staff cleared away quickly and made sure everyone's drinks were kept topped up. There was an issue with a candy cart I had ordered, Mark made sure we could ring the company and when it looked like we wouldn't get any answer he offered to drive to the nearest supermarket to buy the doughnuts and cookies himself. In the evening the extra table was set up to match the rest of the room with no issues at all. We all had a fantastic evening of dancing and we especially liked that the dj was in a separate part of the room meaning that people who wanted to talk could do so without having to shout at each other. The buffet was served and there was plenty of food for all, in fact there was leftovers which is usually unheard of with buffets! The only comment I would make would be it would be helpful if the food was labelled as some vegetarians had to ask staff what was there for them. The food tasted amazing, everyone I spoke to commented that they had never had such a wonderful buffet selection. We then partied until the early hours before retreating to our beautiful bridal suite. We of course all had sore heads the next day! We all went to breakfast where we were met with lots of lovely food options and endless coffee and tea. Couldn't have asked for more the day after our wedding. Thank you so much to all of the staff at the Millers for making our day so wonderful, in particular Mark, Claire and of course Anne! We honestly don't think we could have had a better wedding day if we tried and a lot of that is down to the hard work of the staff. Thanks again Mr and Mrs Poultney 27th May 2017 xxx
We have just had my daughters wedding at the Millers and I can honestly say Mark & his staff are amazing . From our first meeting with Claire six months ago nothing has been too much trouble. There are varying options budget wise but you could swap things about, Claire even saved us money on some of the options. My daughter had 33 for her wedding breakfast and around 80 guests at night and although it's a small venue it didn't feel cramped as the dance floor is off the main room . We had the venue dressed by an amazing lady called Jo from special events and she transformed the rooms . The wedding breakfast at £25 a head was tasty & hot and the service brilliant . The evening buffet at £8.99 a head was the best I've ever tasted, various sandwiches , hot pastries many different things, the only thing I would say was I wish Mark had labelled the food as the veggies in our party were a bit unsure what was vegetarian although I just asked the staff & they were well informed but it was a shame because the goats cheese with red onion chutney on bruschetta were amazing but everyone thought it was Branson pickle and wasn't very popular , we ordered 50 portions of chips and everything just kept coming in fact there was quite a lot left over you will not go hungry .We had a couple of impending disasters when my daughters hair & make up lady didn't turn up ( she thought it was the Sunday even though all emails specified Sat 27th ) One of Marks housekeeping staff Ann heard my daughter crying to me on the phone and was a trained hairdresser & Mark very kindly let her leave her housekeeping duties to save the day & Marks wife supplies straighteners and hair grips my other daughter did her make up and she looks absolutely beautiful even nicer than her previous makeup & hair trial . Also the Millie's cookies & crispy creme cart only supplied half of what they should and Marks attitude was don't worry I'll pop out and buy some more and don't worry about the cost !! Luckily it did get rectified and the missing donuts were delivered before the evening reception and a refund given for the missing cookies . We stayed overnight at £60 a night with breakfast and the rooms were modern and spotlessly clean . Breakfast again was plentiful tasty and lots of choice and excellent service .Like my Title says if your looking for a great wedding venue with great food and brilliant service book the Millers you will not be dissapointed we had a day to remember . Many Thanks to Mark & All his amazing staff .
A good value little hotel and pub. I've used this place probably 8 or so times for hotel stays and always found it value for money, the rooms are comfy and clean. Not 5 star but I'm obviously happy as used this place so often. The pub is quaint with a working water mill inside, food has always been 9/10 and it never seems to get overly full here. Log fires in the winter and a good range of beers/spirits. The only gripe I could have is on several occasions I've rang the bell on reception and the staff are multi-tasking so can take a little time to get dealt with but only a small gripe
What a fantastic Hotel, nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived . I wish to thank all the staff for making the whole day so perfect. We stayed the night before to prepare for the big day and the rooms were beautiful and so clean, the breakfast was excellent as was the service. The wedding reception , the room the food was excellent the staff so helpful ( a special mention for Mike and Amy who both went the extra mile)
Visited this hotel for the weekend with my mum and disabled brother. Have never stayed before but highly recommend this lovely hotel. The rooms were both clean and today and the breakfast was fantastic. The staff were all exceptional. Will definitely use again.
A lovely part of England if you visit it stay here there are lots off attractions around here so the Hotel is easy to get to. We stayed for two nights very quiet and comfortable the breakfast are superb with a wide selection. The pub food good value for money and very pleasant there is a working millers wheel in the middle of the pub. If we travel down to the south again I would revisit.
We had our wedding reception held here at the beginning of the month. Had a fantastic day and couldn't have asked for anything more from the staff. The staff definitely took a lot of the stress out of the day (with the exception of the speeches!!!)
We made an unexpected stop over whilst visiting family. We made a late booking and were accommodated. We had a warm welcome, we explained that we would have to leave before normal breakfast service. Staff advised we could pop down nas breakfast service being prepared and we would be able to enjoy the continental selection. Room was clean and tidy and we were pleased to find a Gideon bible in the drawer. Woken by fire alarm in the early hours, not a false alarm. Staff dealt with everything and everyone remarkably well until fire brigade gave all clear. Those same staff then spent rest of the night making sure everything was cleaned up and ready for the breakfast service, nothing short of fantastic. We have stayed here before and will no doubt stay again.
The hotel is situated in an old watermill. The rooms are nice and spacious, but passing traffic can be heard throughout the hotel when all is silent. The restaurant has a good menu and food is good, breakfast as well as diner In the restaurant the old watermill is still present what gives it a characteristic ambiance. In the neighbourhood is not much too do when on foot and not wanting to drive
