Room is a good clean standard for business customers. You wouldn't stay here as a weekend break unless just a sleep place. Table place has the plug sockets required for laptop etc. But no sockets bedside? An expected comfortable Mon - Fri hotel for travel work... But that's all.
We stayed for a weekend break 26-28 Jan. on arrival the manager insisted he help carry our bags to the top floor as the lift stopped one floor short. We were expecting him to arrive several hours later but within around ten minuets there was a knock at the door and in walked the manager, as promised, carrting our cases having hauled them up the two last flights of stairs.
Comfortable rooms, but the beds could do with replacing. Can't comment on the food, as we didn't eat there. Very surly bar service, but there are lots of good pubs in the immediate area. Good location and parking.
Stayed for 1 night last night with my husband and 2 kids! The staff were fantastic and very welcoming!! Food in the restaurant was delicious! Very happy with our stay, would definitely stay here again!
The staff here are simply amazing. Considering the ageing hotel they are tasked with running, they all have smiles on their faces and stop at nothing to make sure your stay is pleasant! I was here for 5 nights, on one of the busiest weeks I’ve ever seen and their service didn’t lapse. That said, there was a few downfalls with the room itself; the A/C was in centralised mode for the first night, meaning I had no control of the temperature, the water pressure on the shower in room 604 was laughable (So no planning to condition your long hair ladies and gents!) and the dreaded ‘eco’ mode on the television was enabled and locked, meaning very little in the way of brightness while viewing. All in all a pleasant stay, and hopefully the current room refurbishments will make a huge difference!
Great hotel for 2 nights seeing family over Christmas, good breakfast, very clean, and comfortable beds. Looked like a good Italian in hotel, but we had other plans. Free parking at the hotel and walking distance to restaurants and high street.
We were offered a shuttle service from the train station to the hotel but were left there well over 40 minutes waiting in the freezing cold. Manager never offered any apology or explanation! The room was freezing when we arrived. The view of the room was overlooking overflowing garbage. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
I stayed at the Kenilworth Holiday Inn for one night to go to a birthday party. My room was well equipped, clean and comfortable, and quiet. There was very convenient, free parking. The staff were kind and helpful, for example booking a taxi. Breakfast was not included for some reason. I had the continental breakfast which seemed overpriced at £9 for some Alpen, a piece of toast and a cup of coffee from a machine. My only other complaint is that, in common with so many hotels, there was canned music at breakfast, which I hate.
With Holiday Inn you get a pretty standardised experience. The common areas often need a little refurbishment and here was no exception. I had an executive room which whilst very Holiday Inn was better than others I had stayed in and was well equipped and very comfortable. It was a good size and had a recently refurbished and stylish bathroom, which is sometimes the last area to be refurbished. Service in the bar was good as was check in and check out. Breakfast was good and overall it was a very enjoyable stay
Judging by some of the other reviews, we may have struck lucky because we had a great stay at the hotel and will cdertainly go back. Location wise Kenilworth is ideally suited for exploring the surrounding towns and Shakespeare land without paying Straford upon Avon prices and although we treated ourselves to an Exec room (which we had absolutely no complaints abou), it was still excellent value for money relative to several others. Marco's Italian restaurant which is an integral part of the hotel was very reasonably priced with a good selection of food and it was handy having a Starbucks (or it may have been a Costa), within the hotel itself too. All that said though the thing that made the stay as good as it was, was the excellent team of staff there. Whether they were working on recption, behind the bar, in the restaurant or elsewhere within the hotel, each staff member was incredibly helpful and attentive and they always had a smile on their face which is so good to see these days. Under very difficult circumstances as a result of heavy snow and people not being able to travel too easily, they worked their socks off to help people dig themselves out of the car park, made sure that thiose needing rooms for an extra night were looked after and just generally made sure that everything kept going. They even somehow found out that it was our wedding anniversary and when we went down to dinner there was a complimentray glass of fizz waiting for us..nice touch and much appreciated! No complaints from us!
