Holiday Inn Kenilworth - Warwick

We stayed here a second time. The hotel offers good sized rooms with comfortable beds, moderately priced. It is in an excellent position for visits to Stratford and Warwick as well as Kenilworth itself. It is close to the castle and situated in the town centre. It has plenty of parking space and disability entrance. It also has an excellent restaurant.

Myself and my mother stayed in a Executive King Room for 4 nights whilst away on business. On arrival, my mothers room smelt of sewage, which progressively became worse throughout our stay. It was reported to the front desk each day, but nothing was done. The grab rail in my mothers bath came off the wall when she grabbed it whilst showering. Not the best for a lady who has had a hip replacement! This was fixed the same day it was reported. The bath's in both rooms were extremely slippery when wet. I requested a non slip bath mat every morning, but none appeared in either room for the entire stay. It was only when I mentioned it again on checking out that I was told the hotel didn't provide them as they don't have any! - Not good enough Holiday Inn !! I also reported an issue with the water pressure in both mine and my mothers shower. There was barely a dribble coming though which made it extremely difficult to wash your hair. Shame really, as the water pressure in the sink was great. Again, this was reported everyday, but nothing done about it. Food. The main reason we stayed in this hotel again was because on a previous stay, we were very impressed with the food in the MPW restaurant. Sadly, this time it was dreadful... We should have known something was wrong as it was empty on a Saturday night! We dined with friends and from start to finish it was awful. Starters arrive swimming in oil, my friends main course (lasagne) was completely forgotten, so they served everyone else on our table and said don't worry, it's quick to zap the lasagne, it won't be long.... unfortunately, 30 minutes later, the lasagne hadn't appeared. When it eventually did arrive, it was dry, very over cooked and inedible. The other main courses were also very poor quality and barely eaten as tasteless. I could go on about the dreadful restaurant service received and the poor room service (food cold on arrival and not covered whilst in transit), but as the hotel didn't acknowledge any of our issues, apart from 1, I don't see the point... we definitely won't be staying there again on our next business trip to the area. We did notice that many of our colleagues from other companies who usually stay at this hotel, opted to stay elsewhere this time as they had also noticed how downhill it had gone during their last stay. On a plus point, the rooms were very clean.

Stayed three nights over a long weekend and really only used the hotel for bed and breakfast. The room was comfortable with all amenities including coffee making, smart TV and iron. One slight inconvenience was the occasional drop in shower pressure on the 5th floor. Staff were friendly and helpful during our infrequent contacts. Buffet breakfast was excellent with the usual wide selection.

Stayed here twice in a week this is the best holiday inn I have stayed at. Service is good rooms have been updated shower pressure was a little weak but the food in the restaurant was good and breakfast to

The reception staff and assistant manager work at this hotel whilst sciving from school. Their attitude is atrocious. This hotel will do anything to cut costs. Avoid if possible. Shame as location is good.

Stayed here with my husband for a weekend. Standard holiday inn as expected. Room was clean but showed signs of age (marks on wall, skirts of bed etc), however it wouldn’t stop me staying here again. The shower was powerful and hot. The staff were lovely, service was good and fast. Breakfast was lovely and replenished frequently. Had a couple of drinks in the bar whilst a bit pricey was a nice spot to start out our night. Starbucks outside area could do with new furniture as there were few tables and chairs for such a large patio and as it was a lovely weekend weather wise, we would have used it more especially if we could have taken out bar drinks outside. I will definitely pay another visit.

We arrived for one night stay. What a wonderful greeting received by the lovely lady on reception - thank you. She should be an ambassador for Holiday Inn. Probably the best efficient and informative check-in we have ever had about the hotel and surrounding area. She also informed us about breakfast (for 4 of us) was included, which was a surprise, as we thought we had only purchased breakfast for 2. The room was lovely and clean and hot water on demand. We popped out for a meal and on our return talked to another lovely lady on the bar. She also edorsed the hotel, resturant and staff and was really proud for working for Holiday Inn Kenilworth. Will definitely return when we are in the area.

I have booked this hotel on a few occasions now. The hotel is in a great location, right beside the main stretch of shops in Kenilworth with parking facilities, ensure to check availability on booking. The staff are great and willing to offer help with not only the hotel, but are happy to point you in the right direction if you are not entirely sure what you are looking for. Rooms are very nice and comfortable, on one occassion I had my 2 children and there was more than enough room for the 3 of us. Close to some fantastic restaurants and pubs.

I’m just concluding a three night stay. This is an okay Holiday Inn but the rooms are on the more basic end for the brand. The car parking is okay, though some of the spaces are a bit tight and it’s busy. The location is a major plus: it’s very convenient. The staff on reception were consistently helpful and friendly which is a real bonus and isn’t always the case. The Smart TV is actually quite good with access to some web services such as ITV player. Nice to see a reasonably sized bath in the bathroom, which makes a change from the unpopular move towards having showers only. Room was very clean. Room service breakfast was good. The restaurant was good, particularly if you stick to the steak, and I thought it was very reasonably priced compared to some places. I’m not sure you could bring this up to a five, in my view, without improving the rooms and I don’t include within that the current refurb project at this hotel where the rooms seem still quite basic. The major issue is the need for blackout curtains - the rooms are just far too light in the morning and I woke each day at 5am as a result. Management would benefit from considering paying attention to the shower pressure, which was weak; installing shaving mirrors, as it’s quite hard to shave after a shower as the mirror all steams up; the staff in the restaurant could be a little more friendly/cheerful (one or two grumps!) and housekeeping was good but some minor issues: eg forgetting to put breakfast cards in the room two nights running, meaning you have to request them if you used them the night before. But overall it is fine and certainly clean. I’d come back if I was in the area and be confident of a reasonable stay that did the job, particularly if I needed an early start!

Have just returned home from a short break at the HolidayInn, Kenilworth. Hotel was good, room was adequate and clean. Staff on reception very good. Lounge area not very welcoming, seating not a good layout, too many higher height tables. In the Marco Pierre restaurant we were given a high table, asked if we could sit at a standard table (senior citizens!) but were told none available, in fact there were at least 6 normal height tables that were not used all evening. Had quite a wait for food, garlic bread was not very garlicky, thin and crispy like a biscuit. I ordered the herb crusted salmon fillet which was served on a bean ragout which looked dry and appealing, it was replaced on request with a much better one. Not impressed with standards in restaurant at all!
